  1. Also worth noting that a Cowboys loss potentially creates another opportunity for Sean Payton.
  2. The only interview I've actually heard an official schedule date for is Johnson's. Obviously, Evero's schedule should be free.
  3. What fans think is a nothing story. What teammates think is another matter. If a guy's teammates have trust issues with him, that's something I'd like to know about.
  4. Still gotta get a second Rooney Rule interview completed before anything official can happen
  5. I'm not a subscriber and I was able to read it.
  6. @ForJimmy quoted this article in another thread. It's a good one.
  7. Person added this as well... It still feels like there’s momentum for Johnson, the former North Carolina quarterback who directed a top-five offense in his first season calling plays in the NFL. Johnson is sharp, but green. He could benefit from having a former head coach on his staff.
  8. From that same article... If Tepper is ready to swing for the fences with Payton, a couple of other members of the search committee probably aren’t too excited about the prospects. Payton almost certainly would want personnel control, which would likely leave general manager Scott Fitterer and assistant GM Dan Morgan looking for work. This idea gets worse every time we hear it.
  9. Don't know, but there's been an awful lot of people asking that question.
  10. I am. From the article... Fangio, the first defensive coordinator in Panthers history, has been mentioned as a possible DC for Payton if Payton gets hired. But pairing the 64-year-old Fangio with a young, offensive-minded candidate like Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson also is an option. The Rams employed a similar arrangement in Sean McVay’s first few seasons, teaming longtime head coach and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips with the then-31-year-old McVay. With as many as five head coaching candidates still to interview — including Johnson, Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and Denver defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, among others — the Panthers don’t want to lose out on a DC candidate who might have other options.
  11. He may technically be right, but that's generally not something you say out loud...
  12. We know from behind the scenes stories in 2010 that he didn't want to draft Clausen. (granted, he was right in that case)
  13. That was actually quoted from Darin Gantt. Fox was an old school defensive coach. In his thinking, the offense's job was basically to not screw up.
  14. She got annoyed with something I said about the game last night. This playoff cycle is gonna be like walking through a minefield
  15. You shouldn't. It's all bullsh-t. He doesn't know anything.
  16. Fox didn't want to draft a franchise QB. He didn't believe in them. All he really wanted was a quarterback to run a basic offense and not screw up too much.
  17. Hurney and McCormack weren't coaches. Del Rio and Henning weren't head coaches. Wannstedt never worked here in any capacity.
