They always save these on YouTube so you can catch it later. As far as what they're saying, Fitterer didn't say anything earth shattering, but you wouldn't expect that from him. Baker's more interesting, and just revealed that he acquired the #6 from Johnny Hekker. -
This one does...

Panthers Twitter and / or Panthers YouTube channel tends to be the easiest way to view these -
In other NFL news, the Steelers are excited to announce a new stadium name... Can't say I'd be "excited" to announce that name

I don't mind it. Besides it's not like we have a rich history and tradition to draw on

Jim Nagy talking about the guy I mentioned earlier... Looked up a few clips of his. They weren't bad.

Was it mom's best friend or best friend's mom? (I've honestly forgotten) -
A nice shiny black or blue helmet could look pretty cool on our guys.

Baker Mayfield has a lot to prove, period!

Don't mind him. He was lobbying for Jimmy Garoppolo right up until the Mayfield trade happened. Now he's trying to save face by jumping on the Baker bandwagon. -
The Texans... Kinda cool looking though Maybe the Panthers will be inspired to try something similar.

Well, looks like #4 just came open...

As an aside, why do we still have a subforum dedicated to the 2022 NFL Draft?

Highlight reel scouting leads to bad takes. Ted Nguyen lamented how, even at the pro level, some quarterback scouting has started to emphasize athleticism over technique, intelligence and decision making. People get the idea that they can take a physical specimen who doesn't have a lot of real "quarterback" skills and just coach him up. Reality is that strategy fails as often as it succeeds (arguably more). The smarter move is to take the guy who has shown he can actually play quarterback. If he's also a superior athlete, great. But if not, it isn't that big a deal.

We built it like a college defense using a college coach and DC... The results probably shouldn't be surprising

My understanding is it's Fitterer at Noon and then Mayfield at approximately 12:30...or whenever Fitterer gets done. -
Mayfield was actually taken off the roster so about 24 hours or so, probably because they were working on his profile. He's back on there now, with his jersey number officially listed as "#--"

Did Snow really mix fronts all that much last year though? I know we heard repeatedly that he could adapt the defense to do whatever he needed, but what I remember seeing was primarily a bunch of 4-3 (and not especially effective 4-3 at that). Rhule's description of him as some kind of defensive guru was definitely overstated.
-
"Scout the player, not the school."I hear that all the time. It's really only partially valid though... The problem is that more often than not, when players from a certain school have a history of failing at the pro level, there's generally a systemic reason. Take the longtime knock on Florida State edge rushers. The school has had a tendency to use "tweener" types in that spot, and at the college level it works for them. But the ones who get drafted to pro teams who slot them as 4-3 defensive ends frequently have issues against the run. Are there exceptions? Sure there are, but when you pick a player hoping he's that exception, you're taking a risk.

Depends on the system. Delhomme did better in a Coryell type attack, but if you were running a WCO like Seifert did, Beuerlein was ideal. Unfortunate that Seifert didn't see that and dumped him for Jeff Lewis (who I'm not sure ever played a down)
