  1. Would Rhule even go outside his circle without being forced to? And as has mentioned before, if you have to do something like that to your head coach, why is he your head coach?
  2. Gantt doesn't exactly sound sympathetic...
  3. He went after what Rhule wanted, specifically "versatility".
  4. I thought we weren't supposed to be able to
  5. Up to now, Nixon has seemed able to call one, maybe two good drives a half. Yesterday it was like he quit after the touchdown drive. Even so, if Rhule is back I expect he'll be our OC next year.
  6. This'll likely be the most talked about story in the NFL for the next few days (seriously, what the hell ) but our old buddy and fellow Rhule detractor Tre Boston put his own spin on it... Probably not the last time this image gets used in meme fashion, I'm sure.
  7. I know we're gonna see a hundred "trade McCaffrey in order to fix things" suggestions between now and next year. Seriously doubt any of them would actually work, or that it's even gonna happen.
  8. I still think he could potentially have been fixed here if a couple of conditions had been met: 1) a quality offensive line in place 2) a better coaching staff Instead, we got a line and coaches that weren't any better than what he had with the Jets. Even so, there were good results early on, and those were not an illusion. They were a house of cards though. And it all fell apart in a heartbeat, which tells me that Darnold was too fragile to withstand any more. He basically needed near perfect conditions for this project to work, and that clearly didn't exist here. What we had was pretty closely equivalent to performing complicated brain surgery in the middle of a battlefield. So the question now becomes could another staff rebuild him? Personally, I don't think so. Not into a starter anyway. It might conceivably be possible to coach him up to being a quality backup. But again, this staff aint the ones to do that, or...well, anything
  9. Well, here's a new one... Jason LaCanfora is apparently reporting that Jags GM Trent Baalke is nudging ownership to consider...Bill O'Brien as their next head coach. It's LaCanfora...but it's also the Jags, so
  10. They weren't exactly national championship worthy when he left. Questions about his college resumé are fair game. Heck, they were brought up when he was originally hired.
  11. There are already two (Raiders, Jaguars). Four or five more are possible besides us. I'm gonna say probably five total when all is said and done. And I can only hope weren't among them.
  12. It doesn't sound crazy at all. It sounds stupid.
  13. From what I've read, it's because he's not really Caserio's ideal choice. Theory is that Caserio wants to hire his real head coach.
  14. Updated coaching statuses (per Ian Rapoport) Bears - Nagy certain to be fired Broncos - Fangio's status up in the air Texans - Culley likely to stay but it could change Vikings - team needs to make the playoffs to save Zimmer's job
  15. No rule that I know of. But there is a Rhule who thinks he's a starter, so...
  16. To be fair, this was a pretty stupid thing to say.
  17. See, this is a statement worth ridiculing.
  18. Rivera did. And honestly, Fox's "it is what it is" was pretty much the same thought.
  19. And now we have two stupid threads about it
