  1. Yeah, I'm not sure any other Assistant GMs were even in attendance.
  2. Full quote from Howe... Mayfield’s camp has had preliminary discussions with the Seahawks and Panthers, according to a source. Nothing appears imminent at this point, though. What now for Mayfield, Garoppolo as more spots are filled? That sounds like it could just be due diligence or even Mayfield's agent looking to create noise.
  3. I'm okay with it. Sometimes you need to do stuff like that temporarily while you're building the core of the team through the draft.
  4. I wouldn't rank is above Seattle or Indy. Is it really gonna be a farewell tour though, or are we gonna see one or two good performances followed by three or four that leave everybody saying "yeah, he's done"? I mean, they probably envisioned last year as a redemption story of some sort but it didn't really work out that way.
  5. As others have said, for whatever you think of them individually, those two are nothing alike.
  6. What happened to Sam Donaldson? (I thought we signed him at one point)
  7. "I ain't comin' back for no 5-12." I suppose you could try to sell him on this year's team being better with all the free agent signings, but he still might have more desirable options.
  8. Not necessarily. I could see the same or similar group going.
  9. I'm still not clear on how many years it actually takes to learn the West Coast offense.
  10. Multiple sources saying the same thing tends to have that effect. And truthfully, the people that really hate him are the ones that have had to work with, or for him.
  11. She's not trolling, but I haven't seen it reported anywhere else yet. And of course "conversations" can mean anything. I seriously doubt Newton has a full season's worth of starter reps left in him, so I wouldn't bet on us going that route.
  12. I think they were misquoted on that, honestly. What they actually meant was someone who put himself in adult situations. Watson qualified.
  13. To trade down, you have to have somebody who wants to trade up. We couldn't find a good trade offer last year, and that was with Justin Fields and Mac Jones on the table.
  14. I wouldn't be shocked at all, especially if we sign a free agent tackle between now and then.
  15. I'm pretty sure they're okay with how it turned out.
  16. #5 is owned by a division rival of the Eagles.
  17. I don't get the impression the Texans are exactly crying about the pick package they got in return for Watson.
  18. In my fantasy world, we trade #6 plus an additional pick or player package for #5 and #7. That's not likely to happen, but it'd sure be nice
  19. Pointed out elsewhere that the guy who holds the #5 pick right now is pretty good friends with our Assistant GM. A deal to move up a single spot wouldn't necessarily require huge compensation, especially if the two guys making the deal are on good terms.
  20. Not that it has anything to do with Pickett, but I've long maintained that Carr actually could have been a good quarterback. But in his first few years with the Texans, he got the sh-ttiest coaching imaginable. They didn't feel it was necessary to teach him to read defenses. They just had him throwing to a spot depending on what the play was.
  21. Word is that they think exactly that.
  22. In a West Coast type system like we run, accuracy, touch and timing are way more important than a big arm.
