  1. Basically none of those guys asked for veto power, they just wanted their opinions to matter. That was specifically the case with Watson, for that matter. He never asked to have approval, just for his voice to be taken into consideration. As for a player getting mad about lack of protection(like Russ did), that has happened more than once with an elite QB.
  2. Sooo...Russell is good to be listened to but not Deshaun?
  3. Oh, you are one of those "shut up and play" guys. What is your opinion of Watson then? Tom Brady?
  4. This is such a strange take. I have actually met the dude and he is not an ego guy.
  5. Yeah but this is the third distinct cycle where this exact same poo has happened. I firmly believe this is one side or the other trying to create a bigger market than currently exists.
  6. This begs the question, how many suplexes have you done through folding tables? Every flare up feels very similar. As I said earlier, the idea that Houston has some sudden sense of urgency seems completely absurd. What does it matter if the trade deadline passes? They aren't a contending team. If anything, they might have more suitors after the season.
  7. I think you are reading this situation in the reverse. We will see, though.
  8. It is odd how this just keeps flaring up periodically in the sports media. It does feel very manufactured. I suspect it is both camps being active in trying to force the action.
  9. Yeah, although we have the 11th ranked defense, they are a top 5 unit.
  10. 25th ranked in Time to Throw in the NFL. 2.89 seconds on average.
  11. They have a far better QB than ours. That isn't even a real discussion.
  12. Even still, they are a top 10 unit without anything but average LB's. That's an accomplishment. LB is a far easier upgrade to make than DE/DT/CB. I like where are defense is at and where it is headed.
  13. The NBA doesn't work the same way as the NFL. Sucking for that long will just get you fired. The examples of being terrible that long and then suddenly turning it around are limited. Successful franchises in the NFL maintain that level of success because they DON'T let things go to poo.
  14. I just want not a pile of poo. Darnold is a pile of poo. We had a lot of non-pile of poo options and instead we traded WAAAAAY too much for a pile of poo. That is my rub. fug it, give me Tryod, give me Fitzmagic, give me any number of journeyman or young QB's over Darnold. He would have been close to the last QB I would want. fug it, I think Trubisky is a bust too but I would have rather had him.
  15. I just can't buy in to Willis. Agreed. We will find some way to avoid drafting an offensive lineman.
  16. Yeah and that is what I mean about gray areas. You can get yourself in trouble playing in those worlds. Ask that Dodgers player.
  17. If so, it is likely someone from one of the prospective teams, the Texans or Watson's camp trying to get this stirred up. To my core, I literally don't understand why the Texans would suddenly want to get this deal done by the trade deadline.
  18. I probably would have had him ahead of Jones but I also didn't like Jones as a prospect and would never have taken him in the 1st. He was a 2nd rounder to me. The early returns say that was wrong. But, Jones has far more polish than Howell. I tend to think Howell's talent level is higher. Both have average arms and really pretty deep balls.
