This is why I really dislike having former players in roles with the team. You love them as players but if they fug up in these news roles and hurt the team, it's mixed emotions. And it is really hard to separate the two eras. I will always love Dan the player.

I mean.....that is a massive downgrade, if so. I hope we just draft someone for that. It wouldn't be hard to do better than Nijman.
-
Yeah, Nijman was legitimately a bum.
-
Let me be clear too, I don't in any way shape or form have an issue with re-signing Tremble or have any problem with a player....but he is basically a JAG. He isn't close to irreplaceable in terms of what he does on the field. Quite the opposite. It's the price tag I have an issue with. Keeping him around, 100% fine with that.

Never in person. I think there are ample videos of non-professional martial artists that have choked sometimes to death(police are the frequent abusers of this, hence why it was largely banned). If you don't know what you are doing, it's extremely dangerous because you are depriving the brain of oxygen, which can quickly turn serious. Truthfully, if you do know what you are doing, it's a good way to disable someone who is a danger without doing much harm to them at all(aside from a sore neck).

I agree. I think we have largely made our moves for the moment and are going to "shop" a little before circling back to our current guys. Outside Jackson and maybe Woods, I don't think there will be a lot of interest in what we have hitting the market. I feel the same about Horn. I am glad he was finally healthy, that was amazing. However, he also wasn't elite. He was just good. So if he is gonna come at us with a top 10 CB ask, I just can't stomach that personally and I would probably actually consider moving him before the draft if that is the way it is going to go. fug the tagging and all that nonsense, get some draft assets and go get another very good CB in the draft instead at a reasonable price tag. I was a Surtain guy orginally, so the whole Horn situation is very frustrating overall.
-
Horn I suspect is gonna take a little while to work on. Also, not sure if that will be a priority at the moment because they have free agency opening up very soon. I think we will are probably done with our own guys at the moment and will hit free agency hard before maybe circling back to guys like BC, etc.

Mykel Williams, come on down!!!

So, I take it we are gonna pass on a TE in one of the deepest TE drafts in recent memory. All the Warren stans might need to pour a stiff on tonight.
-
For all the defenders of this move, I hope you do realize that Tremble is now the 16th highest AAV TE contract in the NFL. For a guy that is not a top 50 NFL TE.
-
fug it, let's extend Miles Sanders too. Why stop when you are being as dumb as possible?
-
I have no idea why anyone here thinks Tremble is anything but a replacement level player. He is quite literally Ian Thomas-esque. I guess we didn't learn from the other athletic, overpaid TE that never panned out?

10 years, $250 mil?
-
Ask the Saints if it's still a myth.
-
fuging Thomas 2.0. WTF
-
Not sure I agree. I could technically kick the poo out of you and get less tims than if I just grabbed you by the throat. To that point, and I do realize that this is a pretty big outlier and not anything close to this thread, but I could choke you out as a trained martial artist, causing basically no harm but it would be a more serious crime than if I landed a roundhouse kick to your dome that left you with a TBI.
-
It's a bad year for drafting a center, hence why we probably did this.
-
fug that bitch too.
-
I mean, I guess in fairness to Geno I would be pissed about being valued less than Prescott, Love, Lawrence, Tua, Goff, Murray, Watson and Cousins. In fairness to Seattle, I don't think I would want to have a $45+ mil Smith on my roster.
-
I don’t even remember him being traded as recent speculation by media outlets. I think that was fairly surprising.
-
Well also keep in mind that the Bengals are letting his camp go get trade offers. Remains to be seen if his camp has interest in us.

Now you say Reid but Andy Reid didn't have Super Bowl success until Mahomes. But he was always among the leagues best. That's why I never understood the false narrative about Carroll changing. He changed some over time to adjust to differences in personnel but he did that at USC too. He didn't "change" as a HC at USC either after the early titles. Similar to Seattle he was still extremely successful until the very end. It's just hard to win all the time. Especially in the NFL. Hell, Brady and Belichick had a 9 year drought(0-2 in SB) before they got back to winning titles. It just happens. For all we know Reid never wins another one(I wouldn't bet on it but it is possible). Again, I just don't agree with the "it changed him" narrative that people like to push. There has never been any indication he changed at all. He just never reached the Super Bowl again. That is also possible that happens if they did win that game.
-
The stats don't really bear that out. He had a better overall winning percentage with Seattle after that game than he did before that game. I think people forget how good Seattle was during the post Super Bowl loss era. It was just that they never got as close again in the postseason. They remained a power team up until 2021, which people also forget(odd considering we faced them several times in that span). Nothing changed with him as a coach, the situations in Seattle changed(OC's, DC's, personnel, etc). They just were never able to re-capture that same Super Bowl magic.
