Carolina Panthers Training Camp - Wednesday Thread

I don't know that I would call Carter exactly a stellar coverage guy either. I believe in his career Perryman has allowed a lower passer rating when targeted than Carter has. -
That would probably make a good thread actually. There is some stiff competition in that group. Technically, Grier is probably a little to soon to include, although the story is most likely written.

Quality. Keeping in mind, pretty low bar to hit. -
Even Hurney might pass on Greg. Man, he has to be one of the biggest top 3 round busts we have ever had. Stiff competition for that, unfortunately.
-
I somewhat wonder if he is even going to make the team at this point.

I remember Pizza Inn as a kid. I probably haven't eaten at one since being a kid(or a CiCi's). I would probably never go to Pizza Inn again. The nostalgia aspect would be ruined by the reality of how bad that it actually probably was/is. I'll let that memory remain frozen in time. -

Perryman seems to have a far higher ceiling than Carter, so I would assume he would easily win that job. But.....gotta seen the field for it to be much of a competition. It will be a pretty big disappointment and a bad signing if we can't get Perryman on the field with some regularity. He's a good player when he is on the field. -

I believe you mean @Zod's IRL alt account, @Jeremy Igo -
Yeah, I don't want a Jerry Jones/Dan Snyder scenario to unfold just because we didn't hire the right head coach. That isn't the lesson I want the owner to take away from the next couple of seasons if we are still struggling.

Will we see anything out of Kenny Robinson in 2021?

Curious how he is looking, as well. This was a guy I honestly thought was going to be a two deep player if not challenge for a starting spot. -
I don't presume to know anything about him other than what he does on here. The fact that he is getting under your skin pretty much makes him successful at what he is doing. It's really just best to either ignore him or not take anything he says seriously. Once you know he is trolling, it's extremely simple to deal with.

Yep. And we have had a couple of seasons in the past decade torpedoed by the injury bug, as well. I've never actually gone into a season being on pins and needles about injuries, but this is going to be the one. It's crazy the amount of injury prone guys we have in our two deep. We just gotta hope we can buck that trend for at least one season. -

Jackson is already very slight as a CB and isn't exactly a sure and willing tackler. Not sure that is what the doctor ordered at FS. DJack is fine at CB. He just needs to work on being more consistent. He's absolutely the best playmaker we have in the secondary. By a wide margin. -

Yeah, it was scary the amount of guys that we accumulated with injury problems/history. I know that was discussed at length in here. -

Projecting us as a top 10 defense in 2021 is a bit of a stretch. Still have some holes to fill next offseason to make that happen. And just general experience/game reps needed. -

I have never seen these before. I assume some new tech??? -
I am not sure there is a more clear example of a troll than Chuck. He may be somewhat unsophisticated in his tactics to avoid detection but he appears to be pretty clearly trolling. Now, are his actual opinions and believes somewhat mixed into the bunch? Undoubtedly, but he is VERY clearly trolling.

Carolina Panthers are STILL interested in Deshaun Watson
kungfoodude replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would expect we would keep an eye on the situation. Supposedly we sniffed around before all this came out so I would think we are still at least passively monitoring it at some level. I am not sure how active we would be in our pursuit until he sorts out his issues and it becomes clear how bad they will end up. There is obviously the chance he just doesn't get to play in the NFL again. -
In his case, most likely. I mean, there is likely not a real way to determine what he actually believes. He is just here to create mayhem and entertain himself, like any troll is really. I wouldn't be shocked by just about anything he said.
