  1. Well, I can't help that you have a bad take on this or don't understand that phrase. I guess good luck with that.
  2. I wouldn't call it "the farm." The projected Watson deals are "the farm." I think it has more to do with the fact that you have an elite, known quantity versus a bunch of unknowns. It is entirely possible that our scouting on the guys in our potential range(Fields, Wilson, Lance) may not be be as glowing as the media's or the fans. It is also entirely possible they know it is likely the trade market to move up to secure one of those guys may be very aggressive and very expensive. Hard to say what the complete story is.
  3. Yeah, I don't watch a lot of Raiders(pretty rarely). I am trying to get an idea about how he works in their offense. I had a friend bring up him as "check down" guy. Trying to look at some advanced stats to see how he does throwing the ball deep. Other than that. Yeah, I would be okay with Carr.
  4. He is 33, not 38. Take a look at the league for the past five years. Anything stand out in the top 10 passers in the NFL? Yeah, it is a lot of guys in their late 30's. Elite QB's are staying around longer because the NFL doesn't let them get ground to mush like they did in the 70's, 80's and 90's. I mean, unless you are running QB like Cam...then it is fine, apparently. Well ran teams also don't look like the Carolina Panthers, so let's be clear about that. Well ran teams and winning teams already know that you need an elite QB to succeed.
  5. Since we are reframing narratives, Stafford is likely to have more than a "couple" of great seasons. I agree we are still building but having a solid foundation is just as important as having a roof. A franchise without an elite QB is like building a house without a roof. The rest of the house isn't going to last long without that roof.
  6. Brought up where and by who? I missed that, so by all means post it.
  7. All you have to do is look at playoff success from the past decade and that sticks out like a sore thumb.
  8. Since when is Moore rumored to be wanting to leave? Let's see those sources.
  9. Yeah, I just browsed his stats too. I am warming up to this idea quite a bit. I don't think he is an elite QB but he might be really great in our offense.
  10. The constant QB churn was absurd in Tampa. It was funny because no matter how many he always churned through, it was always the same guy or two that were "The Guy."
  11. Yeah, that guy has an unhealthy QB fetish. Not in a good way.
  12. Yeah, I suppose he is. That is a tempting contract. I was only looking at it from a "cutting them costs the Raiders almost nothing" perspective. I think I am underrating him, as well. This market is crazy right now and that is a VERY good contract. I just can't fathom why you would elevate Mariota over him.
  13. I don't think giving up a lot of draft capital is wise. He is a good candidate to get cut. He isn't a Watson or Stafford level QB. We might have to overspend in free agency depending on how many suitors there are. I would think he will draw a lot of action as a free agent.
  14. I'd say he is probably in that same class as Goff and Jimmy G. Average to below average NFL starters. I am not against it given the money left on his deal(slightly less than $20 mil in 2021/2022). I don't know how much I would be willing to give up in a trade since he might just get cut.
  15. Yeah, anyone with half a brain can literally see that. The only "Stafford Sucks" discussions come from fans who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Football guys don't talk about Matt Stafford as not being a very good QB. It is plainly obvious that he is. I will say that these "good" or "dodged a bullet" threads probably aren't going to age well. I rarely like to be the "told you so guy" when it is bad for the Panthers but I won't be shy about reminding these Huddlers when Stafford is successful in LA. Especially if we whiff on a QB this offseason. Make no mistake, it is not a celebration to miss out on an answer for the most important position in football. I am not going to celebrate "missing out" on Watson for whatever giant haul he commands.
  16. I mean...."got more money than he deserved as a black QB????" WTF? Speaking of clan members.....
  17. You are about as far off as humanely possible. Watt is also engineering an exit from the Texans and apologized directly to Watson for "wasted one of your years." You also realize that multiple Houston teammates told Watson to leave before he took this stance, right? Seriously, where do you get all these inaccurate takes from? Do you even pay attention to league news or just invent this stuff in your head? If he is a whiny bitch then I guess JJ Watt is too since he wants out(and publicly made statements all season long indicating that) with a year left in his contract. I guess that makes his teammates whiny bitches too for telling him to leave. Or maybe all these guys who want to win see that franchise for what it is, a crumbling dumpster fire. An owner who hired a professional search firm that didn't even have the GM they hired on their list of candidates, having a guy like Jack Easterby with zero personnel or scouting experience(sound familiar?) and allowing another useless New England slug to literally deconstruct the franchise on the way out. Maybe all these guys are seeing what the rest of the league is starting to realize, most of these New England guys are trash and don't know what they are doing in a front office.
  18. The bulk of teams decide not to go after it. Arbitration is likely to be slanted in the teams favor but it doesn't mean they will recoup all of it.
  19. I think we are seeing how desperate they are to move beyond Teddy. At some level, that does give me hope. Rivera would have stuck it out for 4-5 seasons to find out how it worked out.
