  1. I made up my mind about Wilks due to the fact that the defense got worse when he became head coach and that disaster of a game against TB. You cannot let a 2nd string secondary get beat deep so often and NOT make adjustments. You also can't be so conservative on 4th and 1 at midfield in a make or break game. His decision making isn't great and the comparisons to Rivera are warranted in a lot of ways.
  2. Surprised they are saying Wilks and Reich are the final two. I think the Panthers really wanted Johnson and now here we are. I have always said I like Wilks. He's a standup guy and a good leader, but I don't love him as HC. If we are going to hire Wilks, I'd rather wait and interview Ryans. There's no reason not to if you are going with a defensive HC. Reich may be OK, hopefully our offense will get better. Curious to see what his staff would look like and what does he do without a very good option at QB, a very weak TE room, and WRs that are unproven (not DJ although he needs to stay engaged an entire season).
  3. Technically yes, but definitely not on the business side. Fox could negotiate much better than Sinclair/Bally ever has. Also, Fox wasn't trying to get blood from a stone in their deals. Sure, they made sure to be profitable but unlike Sinclair they weren't vampires.
  4. EPSN The Ocho Bold move there Cotton!! Seriously though, it depends on what kind of bankruptcy Bally is looking at. Reorganization would keep them around probably, but it probably makes more sense to just fade away and sell. I just don't know who they would sell to though - the leagues may buy the rights to the teams involved (although that's a conflict of interest) and then offer the franchises the ability to broadcast their own games. That may be the most profitable way forward for regional sports.
  5. Yep, the tendon rolls right up next to the calf and there's an intense burning sensation. As soon as I saw him grab the back of his leg there I was like "oh no."
  6. You don't rush back from an Achilles tear, and really unless you are very young it's never quit as strong as it was. I didn't want to rush Patches back because of it and was shocked he was already skating as early as he was. I feel terrible for him and the team. I hope he's able to continue his career if he wants to, but man this is a gut punch. Get well soon Patches!
  7. Koochie probably wasn't thrilled about our guys not being able to clear the puck out of our zone at the end of the game yesterday. That being said, him going off a little shows he needs to mature a little bit more. I hope Andersen is 100% (110% would be even better) and can make a return to last season's form and not the form he was showing earlier this year. If it's the latter we should all be concerned and realistic about the Canes' chances come playoff time.
  8. We won't claim him - the only way he's coming back is if he passes completely through waivers and Detroit outright releases him. The Canes made the right call, Ned took a chance on himself and didn't think that the D he had in front of him was a big reason for his success.
  9. I think the Rams will be open and Chicago is 50/50, but that's me spitballing. You may be right, with Tepper's bank roll Reich may come here as OC. Of course, if one of the younger guys get the HC job their philosophies will have to mesh. If it's Ryans or Wilks who gets the job Reich makes more sense.
  10. The only way Reich ends up here is if he doesn't get a HC job, and with a lot of them opening up I bet he'll get one.
  11. Double him and then let one of Georgia's other WRs start doing the same thing when 1 on 1 coverage.
  12. I had Georgie at OVER 40 and the game at OVER 60. I hope Georgia keeps cooking and allows a few TCU TDs.
  13. There's a difference when you have a month to prepare for a game vs. a week. Stroud looked great, but OSU definitely had a good offensive game plan against Georgia. Same thing for TCU, they put together the best plan they could and were able to beat Michigan (although I think Michigan didn't respect TCU enough). One week didn't give TCU a chance to put together and practice their absolute best game plan against Georgia, and knowing Smart he lit that defenses arse on fire, including his defensive staff, after that OSU game.
  14. Duggan does not possess the arm to make that pass, let alone when it's covered underneath and over the top.
  15. I just wish one of our guys would have handed Cam Jordan a damn broom.
  16. See this screams bullsh*t to me. Caserio should have been shown the door before Lovie.
  17. He has shown some real creativity with the Lions. I just put an asterisk on tonight's win because the Lions were playing with house money. They played loose and threw the kitchen sink at the Packers including the very popular "bubble screen/lateral."
  18. Agreed, but Lovie is not a HC. He wasn't going to bring anything to the table for the Texans at all so why even hire him? I hate to think the real reason why he was hired, but this is the NFL.
  19. I think Caldwell is a little old, but I have a lot of respect for that man. He coached the Lions (the Lions!) to two playoff appearances with average talent. Reich, maybe? He has to blow the doors off the interview I think to be the HC. Think I'd like him as OC though.
  20. No offense to Lovie, but that was a "what?" hire when it happened. Another opening and more competition for a quality HC.
  21. oh and I am hoping for an early SF exit and wouldn't mind seeing the Carolina Bills win it all.
  22. I'm sorry, glad you are in a better state now.
