I stopped reading after the first statement that we're desperate for a QB. That just isn't true. The team is doing it's due diligence to improve at every position it can, before the draft. That's the way it's supposed to be done.

I'll admit to not seeing Darnold's entire career. What I have seen impresses me. His pocket presence. His arm strength. His accuracy. His decisions under duress. I'm an old guy now, and have been a football fan my whole life. I'm know what makes a good QB and doesn't. Darnold has the talent, and skillet. I've seen enough of him to be excited about watching our offense. A lot to be excited about. We didn't give up so much for him, should the negative Nancy's be right for a change, that the team can move on easily.

Absolutely. Our front office must continue to build this team, regardless whom the QB is. Those of us that are old, know finding the right QB is a not a short and easy process.

I am of the opinion it's a trade that allows us to continue to build our team in thus years draft. I'm glad they didn't give up a 3rd this year.

Perspective is everything. The team didn't screw up its first year of a rebuild. The moved on from a broken QB and went with someone that everyone knew wasn't going to be a franchise guy. Now, the very next season, idiots like you are claiming their fuging up again by once again, trying to improve the QB position. The money you're talking about is peanuts. Please, come back with something of substance.

fuging embarrassing how.many idiots post on this forum. I don't care that ya haven't done research on the kid. Most of you would have been unhappy regardless whom we got. I'm am sure the 2nd rounder was to get the Jets to trade him with essentially no picks this year. A 6th this year? Who the fug cares? Seriously. Darnold has talent. Gotta like him with our weapons, and the focus of building the oline. Even if he isn't on the roster in 3 years, this is a fuging deal.

I hope he does. It's certainly not inconceivable like many here are acting.

The reality is the franchise hasn't had a true opportunity to get it's next franchise QB since Cam. It not as easy as so many are acting. The franchise took a chance with Teddy, which wasn't wasted. I still believe most just bought into the hype that we were getting Watson no matter what. The shock and brokenness is leaving those people literally hysterical and going crazy. We don't have to find our franchise guy this second. If the team likes any of these guys in the draft, then they do what it takes to grab him, and move forward. Another year with Teddy isn't terrible. May be a lot better than we think. The team is getting better, and we're still building this team. Far as I'm concerned, keep building the team.until ya find the guy ya can't live without, do what it takes to secure his services, and insert him into a talented laden team. Not the other way around.

I don't believe this will happen prior to the draft. They may be making a backup plan to the draft. Or maybe regardless of the draft, if we can cut Teddy. I'm also not one that believes Darnold is toast. Very few QBs throw to the wolves make it. He's young, and still a talent. Therenis potential there. I wouldn't want to give up a pick higher then a 4th this year. A conditional next year is better. He'd be coming into a pretty good situation here, and it wouldn't stop us from pursuing another QB if he doesn't work out.
