Nobody would care if Trump and his supporters hadn't attacked Obama over it relentlessly. It's not hard to understand.
-
Must have been an honest mistake, here's a list: https://trumpgolfcount.com/displayoutings 256 visits to golf clubs in 3.5ish years Also that cognitive decline, wew lad

What we're watching is boorish American exceptionalism and our dimwitted, banal notions of "individualism" as defined by late-stage capitalism colliding with reality in real time.
-
Yeah there's no way we're going to have another set of lockdowns. We're riding with this thing now. Let's just hope people wash their hands and wear masks. Also if you talk about this like there are two options for dealing with this, and they're "everything is open and everybody does whatever they want" and "cowering in your basement waiting for a vaccine", I strongly suspect you have an agenda.
-
One important piece of context you should be aware of is that American conservatives think people die waiting in line to see a doctor in your country.
-
Just some tool who's probably been banned three hundred times being a pain in the ass.
-
Haha speak of the devil. I guess you're just someone who lost confidence and doesn't know what to believe.
-
Just wear a fuging mask and wash your hands. I don't care what you believe or think or why you do it. This isn't hard and it's not some arcane, complex information that's difficult to get or discern like ICU admissions rates or the actual COVID death count. e: Also noting the bolded. I guess we'll see what happens there huh.

I'm just waiting for some Karen to get lavished with praise from right wing media outlets for refusing to comply with a mask order at her hobby boutique that's open three days a week or something. Like that lady in Texas who collected a couple hundred stacks in donations for her "legal defense" because she opened her salon early even though she had already taken $18k in stimulus beforehand.
-
Except the mechanics of how wearing a mask works and how it's effective aren't complicated. Yeah if you can wear a mask and refuse to my default assumption is that you're a moron. If that hurts somebody's feelings then call your therapist because I don't give a fug. Are you going to refuse to wash your hands next because the CDC says to do it and you've been "lied to"? e: I mean "you" in the abstract, not you specifically poster above me

Yeah when some people say that everybody just needs to be safe and take responsibility they mean everybody else. If everybody else is wearing a mask then I'm protected so who cares. Kind of like how anti-vaxxers have sprung out of a world where awful things like polio and smallpox have been virtually eliminated thanks to vaccines. If everybody's vaccinated then it's safe to a certain degree for a bunch of dumbasses to spew a bunch of crap about how vaccines are poison and how smart and special they are for not vaccinating their kids.

3 more weeks in Phase 2 according to Governor Cooper Oh yeah and masks are now mandatory in public so let's hear your hot takes about what a stupid idea that is RiSk MaNaGeMeNt AnD pErSoNaL rEsPoNsIbIlItY people

Yeah that's what I was wondering about. There were a couple of anecdotes and preprints about blood type and COVID severity going around back in March and April but there have been subsequent studies that established it more firmly.
-
What's your blood type if you don't mind me asking

Well considering I'm not a Republican I don't think extrajudicial murder by cops is the solution for all problems great and small, so no. Good old social pressure will get some of it, city and county health ordinances will handle the rest. Then we get to see the RiSk MaNaGeMeNt AnD pErSoNaL rEsPoNsIbIlItY people freak out about having to wear a piece of cloth to go to Walmart.

Masks are proven to help slow the spread of respiratory illness. If people want to get back to normal activities this is one of the things we're going to have to do because it's not effective unless almost everyone does it. Seeing as to how this is America and "if you tell me something is smart and responsible to do I'm going to do the exact opposite because fug you" is the guiding philosophy in the lives of millions, I wholeheartedly believe cities, counties, and states are going to end up having to force people to do it. It's simple: if fewer people are exposed to the virus, then fewer people get infected. Eventually the r0 dips below 1 and the virus runs out of avenues to infect new people. If your droplets are mostly contained, then even if you're sick and out in public, it's less likely that you're going to infect someone.

Have you noticed how certain posters will say the government is doing a bad job all day long but they'll tie themselves in knots to avoid specifically criticizing the actual people who are running the government.

See the first page of this thread for other similarly amazing predictions

I like this post because it's a tacit admission that you think it's stupid as hell to have a gigantic circle jerk right now but your gag reflex as a Republican won't let you admit it, so your first reaction is "well what about... " But to answer your question, one of those groups thinks trying to get people to wear masks in public is a liberal conspiracy to steal their freedom.

I saw that article too. It was something like, front-line workers in Wuhan were tested and it was found that 4-5% of them still had antibodies a few months out. That's with it being thought that up to 25ish% of them might have been infected.
-
One thing to remember is that deaths lag new cases. If new cases continue to spike with deaths either staying steady or not spiking proportionally then that lends credence to your point.
-
Why are people talking about the President during a massive crisis. I don't get it, could someone please explain it to me.
-
Is this a new study being reported on or is it just somebody on a morning show giving their opinion. I Googled "20 million tests per day" and found references to a Harvard report from mid-late April suggesting that number needs to be reached by midsummer but that's all I could find from a cursory look https://www.technologyreview.com/2020/04/20/1000228/the-us-will-need-to-do-20-million-tests-a-day-to-reopen-safely/

a) We already talked about that a few pages ago starting here: Includes a link to her anti-vaxx non-profit registrations. I think she's a grifter and that's why I don't trust her. b) I think there is good investigative journalism being done actually. This isn't it though. c) I'm talking about James O'Keefe who keeps losing slander lawsuits for his edited videos. He also dressed up like a pimp and tried to "seduce" a CNN anchor onto some boat with a bunch of sex toys and porn everywhere. Obviously it didn't work. I mean if you think he's a great guy who tells the truth and is worth defending then that's your take on it. Also if you're anti-vaccine yourself then that's fine, that's your opinion.
