Roster is missing our Pickett, Trubisky, Fields, etc tier QB that should be backing Bryce Young up. They don’t have it….because they don’t want to deal with what it can bring

I choose not to post an overreaction. Just an observation of what we we all witnessed…

we are going to need to start a thread going forward that is properly labeled to talk about this team where the sunshine brigade knows to enter and their own risk.

Well BY didn’t complete a pass. Dalton completed 2. I could of completed 3 jet sweep touch passes and had the best day

Joe Person confirmed the preseason schedule previously set. you won’t see the starters again until week 1. Pending Canales doesn’t change what he said

NFL teams already have positioned their rosters with QB depth. The young talent already are occupying backups slots. You can find bad rookies or old men this time of year.

It’s roster malpractice. They don’t want any QB talent on the roster that would lead to fans making noise about them down the road

We are running 4 of the starting 5 on the OL. Which makes it basically a run of the mill normal NFL Sunday because rarely are you running your ideal group all season. BY’s offenses actually have a huge sample size. And this one is checking all the boxes for a 3peat start

Didn’t he say the plan was just to run them only in the first 2 and sit the last? I might have that wrong. Hope I do or he junks the old plan. But the it’s just going to be a repeat of last preseason. Where his starters only see success vs backup units going in

First half summary. its a failure of Dave Canales. Simple as that. -2 yards for your starting O. We once again head into a season with a starting O that flat out isn’t ready for the season. Canales should tear his plans up and play these dudes next week

For sure, that’s why I said it’s just in part on BY. Another part is Canales. Every O he has been part of hasn’t been about setting up YAC. heck that one broken down play where BY ended up scrambling for 2? WTF you running that horrible play in preseason for, for a team that needs to find a grove. That’s the playcalling and staff not helping the team out in preseason. Only 2 dudes running routes and they are both deep action to the same spot of the field. Hate the design of that for this group and this setting

Sanders was 100% a drop. But I still think the fact this team has no YAC is in part ball placement by BY often. BY should be that in front of him not on him. TMac was an off target ball (which BY ran a super high % last year doing)

Nice reminder, I still hate that Jim Caldwell, Dom Capers survived the Frank Reich abomination and still have Influence here

Canales’ team going to lay an egg opening up this season…..again Panthers starters going to enter the season without a completed pass or first down vs an actual starting D. think he already said they would only play in first 2. 2 seasons in a row Canales had treated preseason like he already had a good O. He doesn’t. They need reps

We were what the 19th ranked rushing team last year? With no real home run ability. Season long was 38 yards. Only 5 teams posted a shorter long. Dallas was one and dead last at 27. I agree it’s not 28th. But it’s probably more middle of the road than there general Panther fan consensus. Just a solid complimentary attack.

I don't get people's over fixation on the two 1k runners. There are probably 50 RBs in the NFL that can hit 1k easily if they stay healthy and a team just gives them featured ish reps. It's just 50 yards a game. Carolina and Dallas didn't really have folks that could give the rock too. Most teams aren't looking for that. Hubbard probably isn't a 1k RB if Brooks stayed healthy. We got 2 solid RBs. Both on the backside of 20. As a team, we were bottom half of the league in rushing last year. It's not like the run game was one of those nuts ones where it could carry an offense. It's really just a complimentary level backfield. It's solid. But it's not special.

I mean, WR1 is generally speaking who your pass game is built around. And that was Greg Olsen. Back in the day the X was normally your best player in the pass game and who the pass game went through. So often that was the "WR1" position.
