Panthers Select Ja'Tavion Sanders TE - Pick 101, Round 4
CRA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t hate that positionally, don’t know much about him. but I’ve said rec RB, TE and slot WR have to improve for Bryce to have a shot. They have added talent at 2 of those 3 spots. And in theory, we got guys that potentially could eventually eat into Theilen’s %. -
Your UNC guy, Walker

Who are the day 3 prospects you want to see us target?
CRA replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
DJ was also probably the most physical runner since 89. And we have had a lot of bigger bodies -
Take a WR. Lot of them on the table. Several we had in for top 30 visits. I’d prefer it not be Rice. I think Tepper likes Rice. Sure sounds like Tepper got into that interview and there was some pre draft smoke there
-
bet they trade down
-
As he even says, right now everything is talked about as the best case scenario. Running, cutting, trying to get back to where he was can always alter the timeline. I think you just wait and see. Be cautious. No point going fast. We are the worst team in the NFL. A rookie RB isn’t going to alter things dramatically out the gate. We don’t need him to be a starter week 1. We will get him at some point this year.

Fitterer made his name/debut in the draft trading down and acquiring picks. Morgan’s mimics that to a degree. and when asked, they both claimed that wasn’t their plan going in. But I’m not sure how true that is because both went about it pretty quick

Canales was 11 heavy much like Carolina last year so we should see an abundance of 3 WR looks. I would assume to start the year Johnson and Theilen are locked in most snaps. Then he rotates everyone else through the same spot. Mingo, XL, Moore, and whoever is else. So limited looks for all. But that’s what I just want them to trade Thielen. Think the pros outweigh the cons
-
Opening snaps week 1, 2 WR sets are going to be feature Johnson, Old Man Thielen, Ian Thomas and Chubba most likely. 3 WR looks are the great debate IMO,

I’m just going by the math and stats. Football players and sports always talk optimistic. It’s also the draft. The average is the average. Everyone is different. he doesn’t need to be a day 1 starter. Heck even without the injury he probably doesn’t need to be that. I see no need to rush him out and have him be a week 1 starter on our wonderful turf.
-
ACL on average takes NFL players 49.7 weeks to return to the field. Brooks went down mid Nov. 56% that return re- injured themselves in 10 weeks. Brooks probably shouldn’t be a day 1 starter. Even if he is trending on the early side of that average and young. Carolina should move slow.

How do you know that? I mean, sure sounds like he was in on interviews. And he is one of the most meddlesome owners in the league…..but suddenly isn’t just because? Panther PR is just that. Tepper is well aware of the opinion of himself. So he attempts to manage that at times. I don’t believe an old billionaire is going to change. Because he swing and missed? That’s been his whole life. Tepper doesn’t care if he misses.

Billionaire Karen was just joking.

Everyone knows where Morgan worked. But some seem to paint this odd picture that the folks who were part of the mess and mindset of the last 3 years….were silently raging against everything and now are different. We just traded down with 2 of our 3 picks to plug holes of picks we mismanaged prior. That’s something we did under Fitterer what this staff values in terms of athletic numbers and potential. That’s something we did under Fitterer. and we did a lot to the stuff under Fitterer, in part because of the people under Fitterer. Who largely remain on that side.

I know it’s earlt but Dan THE MAN Morgan is IMPRESSING me
CRA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, this seemed like a 100% Fitterer draft. It checks all the same signature boxes. And it make sense because it’s basically his old team doing it. I mean some of the draft is just luck and the lotto. So hopefully we get lucky for once. But clearly Fitterer and Morgan share a lot….which makes sense. Morgan and him were tight and Morgan was our assistant GM the last 3 freaking years with most of the same folks. -

Yep. Fitterer might of left….but it’s hard not to argue that the same essential folks are just continuing on as it was. -

Without the injury, he is a day 1 starter. Not sure we can actually consider him that now. there was a study on NFL guys and ACLs. Average time to return to field was 49.7 weeks. He tore his knee mid November. Over half the guys, 56%, re-injured the knee within 10 weeks of returning. I mean, everyone is different. No way to know. People are always going to talk optimistic. Especially in a draft scenario. Do we really want to bring him along on the quick side of things? I think Carolina should take the cautious side. -
Are they one of us! So they understand DBO. Every year is a essentially just a new gimmick

Panthers Select Trevin Wallace LB - Pick 72, Round 3

So he needs some polish too on how to speak to media -
Panthers Select Trevin Wallace LB - Pick 72, Round 3
CRA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m just playing math odds that one wouldn’t actually work out. That’s largely why I wanted 2. And the the fact, all the other guys not named Mingo probably aren’t here next year. -

Can we question Micheal Jordan’s ability to scout basketball talent? If so, Morgan is fair game. Especially given he has been part of what has gone down the last several years -
Panthers Select Trevin Wallace LB - Pick 72, Round 3
CRA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
They aren’t the offensive skill players I think this draft put on the table for us to walk away with. So that’s just my beef. It was gong to have to be that for me to thumbs up it. Thought from the jump you could have landed 2 stud WRs by tonight and a RB tomorrow that could all see the field and improve our O. I’m in record not giving a rip about the D until we get the offense on the right path -

I wanted Mitchell and Leggette. Said it for weeks. In the end, we could have had Leggette and Mitchell. now the ghost of Marty Hurney inspired Morgan I wasn’t going to be happy without some variation of 2 WRs over the course of Thurs and Fri. Oh well…at least I like the first pick -

Somewhere this guy is watching and really liking the back to back RB and LB moves…. -

Brooks can play, but his blew his knee out at the end of the football season. Probably 2025 is when we really would see Brooks back in form. Most guys aren’t a Peterson freak show. They take time to get back up to where they were.
