Yeah, people forget the hype and talk last offseason. Fittterer was highly praised here overall. I just didn’t see it then. Don’t see it now. Last time I really was optimistic was Rhule’s first year in that Covid season. Suspect every offseason since.

Has he proven he is a QB whisperer? Carolina is just where QBs have sucked. Baker instantly went back to being Baker at LA and then Tampa.
-
nah, JJ got the inside scoop from Tepper's bodyguard post drink throwing that they drafting Will Shipley at the top of the 4th and yall just can't see it for what it is. Go Tigers!
-
that's a cumulative reference by JJ I would say. Glad JJ is doing the honorable thing and calling out such a travesty and injustice. Draft a Clemson player!

We might have to think outside the box. Rock Hill can rename Cherry Rd to Gilmore Ave.

Matt Millers' 7 Round Mock (Panthers info only)
CRA replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
I only like Leggette in the 3rd if we already spent a one of our 2nd rounders on a WR. The double dip is what I want. That's really the only scenario I am pimping. I don't like Leggette as the only WR drafted. I'm not a Mingo fan. Much like Bryce, Mingo didn't really have any moments.....at a position where dudes these days generally show you something early. Something. my days of blind attachment have long faded away. You got to show flashes or I want bodies to complete. I don't want guys just slotted into positions. So let Leggette and Mingo battle. -
Tepper and Fitterer needed Bryce to be the pick and they need him to start week 1. That's the world Frank Reich found himself in. And he looked mentally broken once that was set in stone.

I've been on the 3rd round Leggette mantra for weeks. He is a great pick.....with our 3rd round pick. -

this the Panthers. We probably trade it for comparable comp the last time the 33rd was traded. Which was peanuts. -

hey look, hiding in the bottom left is our very own TMJ! Safe to say we probably would be better of gambling in the top right. -
Tomlin on Diontae as a Panther gives me some anxiety
CRA replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Steelers spent a year trying to give him away for a bag of chips. I think that's the subtle and natural anxiety on landing him. Basically, the problem outweighs the talent. And Tomlin is better than many at managing problems. Who knows. Can never predict things really. How personalities and people do from one play to another because of all the variables. Just go to hope Johnson wants a really big payday and plays nice in hopes of earning it off his play this season. -
yeah, I mean, even mild manner people have their moments. I think it is safe to put Bryce Young in the calm and mild manner camp in term of the NFL. I don't have an issue w/ that. I don't need him to be Cam or Jake. I just hate the PR this time of year.
-
Mahomes, Allen, and tons of players have bad footwork. Footwork is a topic on conversation only when the results are bad. I mean, in theory the best QB in the NFL.....is basically a textbook of what you don't want your QB to be and do. The results simply aren't what the textbook says should happen when you play like Mahomes does.
-
Oh jeebus, PR show in full effect. He isn't a nice and mild as he seems....you might not believe it but....wait for it.....he got some dawg in him lol.
-
Those average arms are attached to NFL bodies though. Bryce has an average arm attached to an extremely below average body. I mean, Bryce is technically the far end of that representation. Burrow's 6'4.
-
I'll give him one mulligan. Same basic outlook as last year, Bryce Young better really show some glimpses of being special and worth the pick in the 2nd half next year. If he isn't giving you some "well, that's why you drafted him there moments"......we need to move on. That would be 2 full seasons with zero moments.
-
my issue going into last year wasn't so much pure incompetency....but bad marriages that were always doomed from the start. Which brought out the worst outcomes or "incompetency". We weren't putting people together that meshed/fit. Coaches and players. It was a forced vision. Still feels forced. I just hope if Bryce doesn't fit after an honest try they move on. And do it late down the stretch and it not be some big offseason decision.
-
yeah, there was clearly some smoke there form the jump........wish we knew the inner workings. I mean, it was what week 3 and Frank was channeling Matt Rhule.....claiming the reason Dalton went in for Bryce on 4th and 1.....was old man Andy Dalton presents a unique threat that would leave a defense on it's heels......WUT!?!
-
I mean, I'm not an it's all Bryce's fault guy. I was one of the view voices that didn't think we were setting him up for success when folks were talking playoffs/dream staff/best roster since 2003 type junk. I frankly still don't think we are. I haven't really changed there either. I don't think Canales' O he ran in Tampa fits. And still think to set him up for success you need a Bryce Young specific O with playmakers at slot, rec RB and TE. Not average joes. You got to either embrace the small ball he fits or don't. We haven't. I still think we are a marriage of parts that don't really fix. Really by design. Think we are just continuing that. Hard to imagine Canales actual being all in on the QB that the last HC/GM were fired over. I just think it's tough to overlook what an anomaly Bryce Young is. I do think Parcells was right, if you are going to draft that....he better walk on water. Then to top off his limitations with his more risk adverse nature? I just think his ceiling is forever low.
-
yep. Special QBs show you the glimpses and moments even in bad spots. I think there is no escaping Bryce's physical size issue paired with his natural tendency/instincts. It takes too much off the table. Ceiling will forever be low because of it and he is in a world dominated by athletic/physical freaks.
-
Think he wanted to be here back when we had him. Older player, close to home and family. Easier life.

I got no issue renting him for a year. We got no talent. He is talent. I don’t view it much more than that. -

Mike Tomlin puts up with plenty of stuff. but Mike Tomlin's track record of getting rid of WRs.....is bad news for us. Wallace, Brown, Holmes, Juju, Chase... Tomlin has almost an uncanny timing to date with that.
