I agree. That's hindsight kicking in. There was the corner debate of Horn vs Surtain and outside of that squabble, Fields probably had the biggest following behind him in real time. Taking a swing at the QB but a lot couldn't get on board after the front office signed Sam Darnold. there was a little Parson talk but it was small and largely squashed with needing to move on from the classic Hurney LB/RB play. But largely acknowledged to be the safest play.

look, the NFL just like every other faucet of life is slam full of idiots. It's a universal fact of life. You got idiots in uniform, on staff and in front offices. You got people that sometimes can't see what is right in from of their face for a multitude of reasons from ego, bias, stubbornness, etc.

I still don't get these gymnastics. Frank Reich is clearly running what Frank Reich runs. His offenses are well documented. It makes no sense to suggests that Frank somehow wanted to do something he has never done in the NFL on O and Tepper was like no Frank, you have to run type O you have always run. Frank is an old dog doing what Frank does. Now, I can get on board with the notion that Frank didn't get the QB he preferred. But that's not really an excuse for how bad his O is. Because it's not like he is just missing the QB play. *and I realize you weren't digging into that thought and arguing that it is true. I just commenting on top of your post.

Dalton has been playing in the NFL for 100 years and it took the most pass attemtpts in his career for us to reach that pedestrian pass mark….while he was under comical pressure. external force? Frank is running what Frank runs. And Frank has run it poorly and it not worked in every place he has ever been. It’s how he gets fired.
-
last year with Chargers, he lead the NFL shotgun %, run game was league worst with his predictable inside bologna, bullshit screens and predictable pass game. said it from day 1. He is an offensive Fox/Rivera. Talent has to overcome the fact everyone knows what is going. And when you don’t have the talent to overcome his bad O…you get the end in SD, Indy and now here.

Kurt Warner's Breakdown of BY(P.U) during the Bears Game
CRA replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
well, that sounds like you need to bench the rookie QB and have a reset. -
well, I don't buy that. Tepper hasn't actually been that radical. He came in and gave Ron a fair enough shot. He gave Rhule way more time than he deserved. He is willing to spend money on staff and whatever else. Tepper has just been horrific in his choice for GM and HC. Frank probably will get way more time than he deserves. Tepper just needs to make good hires. They will exist.
-
sure they will. only 32 of the these gigs on planet Earth. Tepper isn't the first or last problematic owner. League has always had plenty of Teppers.
-
I'm not seeing this Tepper under the bus thing. Frank Reich was never going to come in here and play Wilks football. That's not per Dave not to. Frank is doing what Frank does. Frank doesn't play Wilks football and never has.

"Nicole thinks fitterer is doing a good job"
CRA replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Breaking News - Nicole Tepper has designed her own virtual reality headset for Bryce Young to wear to help aid and prepare him for future games. The VR headset will feature the latest AI advancements. The programming will feature 11 virtual Nicole Teppers in full NFL gear coming at Bryce like spider monkeys all jacked up on Moutain Dew. Source - some guy named Dave that was at the gas station this am asking for change -
we have a much better backfield. I was making Theilen and Hockenson the push. Got to get creative. Then giving the rest of the receiving edge to the Vikings. Which comes out to the overall push. I mean, it's the closest I can get to making an argument for a team. edit - oh, yeah, good call on NE. That might be the one to argue.
-
present day, I'm not sure the Vikings have better overall skill talent. I'd say we are on par from a skill talent level. but it took injury to make it close. but the Vikings are playing pretty good football.
-
yep. I even watched it. Here is the summary..... No changes. Nothing different. I love everyone we got. That's all we need. It is tough to tell if Frank is even awake when he is up there though. Possibly sleep talking. Frank got the energy of an old tired sloth. I did find it interesting a reporter questioned Frank's mellow locker room and if they needed to change at 1-9. Of course Frank said no.

I endorse the Panther version of this. So, Luke Kuechly.

Fitterer is an Absolute Idiot for Not Trading Brian Burns in 2022
CRA replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Burns hasn't even reached peak Peppers hate yet. Probably won't. -
I would add, I always felt Tepper’s voiced reasoning for why Bryce was their pick…..felt like GM soundbites. the whole we can build a cheap offense and put it all in the defense narrative.
-
those aren't special moments though. When someone says they want to see a moment of a #1 overall QB showing a glimpse of being a special/game changer.......those aren't it. Moving a DB with your eyes once? PJ Walker has a better highlight reel than Bryce Young for crying out loud.
-
it shouldn't be used as an element of surprise. They also need to clearly alter their run/pass ratio. They should be consistently working under C. Run game would work better. You would finally get some real playaction. Which would help give Bryce some time to make a play. Not saying you eliminate the shotgun.....but you can't work exclusively from it. And you can't have this run/pass ratio. And you got to mix up how you are running out of the gun. Life is a dream for opposing defenses right now. We don't have the talent to run this scheme. And it is just ruining Bryce and preventing development. While an adjusted scheme isn't ideal for Bryce he would at least be forced into a learning role of NFL basics, the run game would function better, Bryce takes less sacks/hits, and you probably could mitigate some of the damage being done to Bryce.
-
Frank never makes the changes needed when the talent isn't there to do what he ideally wants. SD nor Indy.
-
Generally, I agree. Issue is Bryce Young is regressing and things look more and more horrific each week. So, regardless of what any one thinks of Bryce...keeping Frank employed is bad news for the health and development of Bryce. And that still is a huge investment. Some basic adjustments by an interim HC could at least reduce the damage to Bryce and have him salvageable for the next HC.

I fail to see how we would have more wins w/ the Steelers schedule. Technically, their SOS has been tougher than ours as they have faced a lot more top tier teams than we have. 49ers, Browns, Browns, Ravens, Jags, etc. We couldn't beat the Bears with a backup rookie QB. Hard to think if we swapped that game for the Rams it changes things. Or swapping the Falcons for the Raiders. We can't score points. Our lone chance of securing another win looks to be the Titans. Any game we win outside that will be a team just imploding and losing vs us winning. Our best chance for wins looks to of been early, before their was film on Bryce and this horrific O.
-
the team and Bryce are getting worse. And the start was already horrific. we should fire Frank. Look at the Raiders. Look at us last year. There is zero doubt someone else could take over and improve us. Frank brings out the worst in everyone. 10 weeks in and he can't make adjustments a 10 year old could figure out.
-
I doubt it was good job or you messed something up once
-
Wasn’t Evero losing his poo at DJ Johnson yesterday?
-
Yep. I mean, all the firings were technically correct BUT every hire has been worse than the guy fired though. Ron >Rhule > Frank Marty > Fitt and you top that off with now having the worst roster in 20 years That’s what Tepper has done
