  1. I mean said they would win. But TCU’s D is and was a flaming bag of dog poo last year. Nebraska should make life a lot harder on that O than TCU did.
  2. I think Rhule is going to lose because he has zero offense. I wouldn’t be shocked if Nebraska’s D makes life hard on Prime Time’s O and gives them a bit of a reality check vs last week.
  3. True. But those future first are more in line for a franchise taking the #1 overall QB in this years draft than some other teams. Those are assets to build around him. Which will be the focus in the upcoming seasons.
  4. Excluding his rookie season….he has won in 5 of his 6 seasons as a starting QB with 3 Pro Bowls.
  5. I’m saying contracts matter. Eagles were simply being used as an example of a good front office. they were able to add an elite pass rusher for 15 instead of 30. They let a committee RB in Sanders walk. Here we are….about to pay a comparable pass rusher double what the Eagles did, we grabbed their commitee RB and overpaid him. Bad contracts add up over time and limit a front office.
  6. Oh, to bump those Robbie Anderson is better than DJ Moore we gots to pay him!!! threads. lol.
  7. Reddick’s pass rush isn’t a byproduct of playing in Philly. He got it done in Carolina and Arizona. Was better at getting to the passer in each of those years too. I’ve never argued he would have saved or done anything. Comment was Eagles added an elite pass rusher for 15 a year. Folks here talking about adding one for 30. Well, that is relevant if you want to talk about roster building by a front office. Eagles doing it smart. And they have a good roster as a byproduct. You start paying pass rushers 30 mill, committee RBs starting money, etc…..it impacts what you can and can’t do elsewhere. Adds up. Hell, our 6th biggest cap hit this year is Robby Bobby Robbie Chosen Jet. Because we paid a role playing WR like a low end 1.
  8. Probably could have kept CMC and pulled it off. All the Bears got from that deal was pick 61. A late 2nd rounder that was almost a 3rd. Panthers could have likely figured out something else there.
  9. I think we are the only team dumb enough to think Burns and 30ish would go together. And his team frankly has us in a weird spot when we turned down a trade we frankly should have made. The front office remains a problem.
  10. You can’t get 2 first for him now. That was a desperate team being desperate and we opted not to take advantage….and then put ourselves in a poor negotiating position.
  11. I’m not saying he isn’t arguing for it. I’m saying the Panthers shouldn’t pay that and if they drastically overpay him it’s a front office failure. Fitt should have traded him.
  12. Then it’s a front office failure. Should of traded him. No other way about it. and that’s why teams like the Eagles win and we don’t. They paid an elite pass rusher 15 a year. A better one than Burns.
  13. Bosa isn’t a comparable player. And neither should his contract. Burns is comparable with pass rushing specialist. And that market has already been set by the pass rushing specialist
  14. Those are all pass rushing stats though. Guys better than Burns statistically like Reddick aren’t in the Bosa tier of pay.
  15. ESPN has a run stop win rate stat? A Panther made their top 10 for edge defenders but it wasn’t Burns. Gross Matos at 8. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34536376/2022-nfl-pass-rushing-run-stopping-blocking-leaderboard-win-rate-rankings-top-players-teams
  16. PFF didn’t grade him out as a top 25 edge player in 2022. Because more than pass rushing was factored. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-final-2022-edge-defender-rankings But Burns is an elite pass rusher. But those wanting him to get the same deal Bosa gets are way off. And it’s not Burns hate to acknowledge he isn’t a Bosa
  17. I read it. Brian Burns is an elite pass rusher. That’s what I said. And then someone posted his pass rushing stats. if you want to argue Burns is Peppers 2.0 or comparable to Bosa tier player, you would need to supply some facts for that argument. Which wouldn’t be his sacks or pressures. Because that’s acknowledged in the initial statement.
  18. The contracts are the contracts. What do elite pass rushing specialist get? That’s not opinion. now, it is my opinion Burns is an elite pass rusher. He isn’t Julius Peppers 2.0. Burns has done little outside of rush the passer in the NFL at a high level.
  19. Acknowledging the current market/money for skills/players isn’t living in the past. what are elite pass rushers getting? That’s what Burns should be hovering around
  20. If we have zero pass rush without Burns on the field….we got a lot problems in reality. Evero should be able to scheme up pressure. He did it in Denver when they traded Chubb. If he can’t, the rest of the roster is a pretty big issue.
  21. We frankly brought in a better pass rusher than Burns not long ago. We let him go after a year. He went on to sign a deal that is reflective of elite pass rushers. Which is Burns. Which isn’t Bosa money.
  22. Shouldn’t matter. Bosa’s deal shouldn’t be steering Burn’s that much. They aren’t comps.
  23. A deal isn’t done because Burns wants elite DE money and he should get elite pass rush money. And those things aren’t the same. But I wager Fitt caves and does a contract we regret. Front office will feel the heat coming off this disaster Rhule era
