I think the argument exists that it’s essentially Steve Belichick that is the real hire and his dad is gong to use his brand/face to help get the ball rolling and do basic install of what the program should be. Then moving out of his way. and all the pipeline to the NFL balderdash is just that. There already are tons of pipelines to the NFL and you don’t have to deal with BB’s nonsense to get there.
-
I think that’s what they are essentially trying to get to. A cap. NIL is a mess.

That would mean none for basketball if my understanding of the new agreement is correct. Schools get a max that has to allocated amongst all sports. Mack probably pissed lol

More Legette content! This time... holiday greeting cards?
CRA replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wonder if this is just viral marketing for Fanatics. It doesn’t look like you can buy it and it’s almost Christmas -
Still need see/read that fine print on the son and what UNC in actually hooked to
-
I’ve literally been begging and wishing for years for someone else to be relevant in the ACC boss. As along as Clemson is in the ACC, I want other good teams. but I’m still going to side with Brady, Gronk and what 90% of UNC fans would have said about this move before it actually happened.

Dabo and Jesus walking into Kenan Memorial next season laying hands on Bill
-
When Deion officially announces he is called to do something else after the bowl game now that his sons are done…I will have been 100% spot on about the Sanders grift and what his coaching was about and again, 4th in the BIG12 with the most talent

Next year, the power 5 agreed on a NIL deal of 20.5 million per school.

This is college football bruh. It’s not the NFL, just like the NFL ain’t college. The King of the ACC Dabo Sweeney ain’t worried about the equivalent of a Washington Redskins Steve Spurrier bringing his gimmick into town. We all know deep down how this goes.
-
This is actually the way. Boom or bust. It’s the middling meh that wastes the most time.
-
well, Tom Brady did actually use the word frightening to describe Bill in college football. His context and usage was obviously different.
-
when Dabo and Jesus hit the recruiting trail, they will remind the kids in the Carolina's that Ron Rivera has a better win % in the NFL than Belichick...when Bill didn't have Tom Brady on the field for him.
-
true. You might get a couple names in the door off of his name. Can you keep highly paid kids at UNC given what that would actually looks like. That's what I doubt. Which IMO is why all his former players are laughing at the situation. The environment Bill creates doesn't mesh with today's college football. Only thing Bill got in common w/ the Deion situation is name recognition. Sanders at least brings a lot of things that do jive w/ today's college football. It's a fun reality TV show.
-
Money, playing time, winning, being happy. Shuffle the order a little based on each kid. I don't think most kids give a rip how well known the HC is. I just don't see Bill being born again. I think he runs a miserable program where they will try to win ugly. A less fun Harbaugh/Michigan type situation is what kids would be walking into....but in the ACC.

I wish yall the best. Any respect that can be brought to the ACC is welcomed.

Report: Panthers' David Tepper Has Taken 'A More Hands-Off Approach' to Team
CRA replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
this exact article/narrative is just a copy and paste from different windows of Tepper's tenure. -
I'd like to see the fine print of what UNC is actually agreeing to. My personal opinion is the NFL sort of blackballed the Belichicks.....and now he is merely trying to set his son up. I just don't see how Bill is going to come into college football and be Nick Saban when Saban already bounced because his model doesn't belong anymore. I think in about 2 years, we will just go back to that clip of Brady, Gronk, and Edlemen laughing at this and say well, yeah,......it was obvious it wasn't going to work.

for the first time since 2022, Panthers are favorites this Sunday
CRA replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I 100% think Canales is a let's just stay close type coach in games. Just get to the 4th in striking distance as the goal. Which is a common approach used for team that have a talent handicap. -

I'd rather be dogs. Big picture I'd always prefer the slight dog line. -
Freshman kicker already trying to reach Renfrow status amongst fans. The wink lol. If Phil Mafah can get functional and that's a big if...Clemson going to be a tough out. Say what you will about Dabo, he is one of the few coaches in this thing that we know can get his team ready for this moment and Dabo has a knack for having all his team playing their best ball at the end. Clemson ain't the worst team in this playoff despite the 12 seeding. Same SEC homers that would pimp Gamecocks as the hottest team in college football and they could make some noise if they got in.....are the same types that would dismiss Clemson from having a punchers chance in a game. Yet the are the exact same tier teams.

Are we the worse at picking second round picks or cursed?
CRA replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Kasay and Jake. 89 was the tightest w/ the folks you would think he would have been the furthest from. Jake and 89 were really tight off the field especially when they started families. On the Edlemen podcast he said he still talks to Jake every month by phone to this day. -
Darin Gantt notices a very good sign in the lockeroom
CRA replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I miss that guy I wish he had spent the last half decade taking shots at Tepper. But Tepper took that off the table. Gannt would have been awesome covering this team while not employed by Carolina. -
David Tepper CLEARLY still be doing his Monday morning thing and if you are honest, there is really no indication he has changed anything. David Tepper has "disappeared" repeatedly in his time here. Him knowing he looks bad and not being visible isn't new. It's actually the design most of the time the last couple years. David Tepper wasn't suddenly a good owner because Wilks and company had a nice little stretch of being competitive. I may have turned the corner on Bryce Young a little. But David Tepper is still a horrific owner. And Tepper 100% put all this together. We can't pretend he didn't because we haven't been a laughing stock the last couple weeks.

Good is relative. They aren’t good by the standard of what a good Clemson team is. Better than the last 3 years if healthy but still not good. which also is true about present day Bama, OSU, etc. Which remains my point. The top of college football is weaker vs the past. It’s weak this year. Any of these teams can catch an L from a host of teams to a degree that wasn’t there not long ago.
