Harper is even slower than last year....

it is preseason so you don't have to worry about containing Newton. He will only run as a last resort. no team to date has had any issues shutting down our preseason run so it could be an ugly night early

yeah, I agree. Funchess really would be the one of he gets the green light in terms of getting open against ones. I do want to see some sort of rush game from the first team O. I'd like to see Boykin at some point before the ones are done.

I don't much stock in winning the game or anything or final score. I put a good amount in how starters will play entering a season. There are exceptions like I don't think Cam really counts much b/c he is basically asked to be "half" of what he is. Outside of that, if WRs can't get open or catch....it means something. If the OL can't generate a traditional run game early....it means something. Means we have a long way to go still in those areas.

My only issue with all the love is we only have seen these guys play in the 4th quarter against guys that likely won't even make rosters this year. We need to see them vs some better competition

Bersin can't play except in preseason against backups. Nothing but Cotchery hate to act like Bersin is better. and we know he doesn't offer anything on special teams I'm no Cotchery fan but 31 other NFL teams would have cut Bersin in season last year. Maybe Cotchery too but he would have been after Bersin

I didnt say anything about Cotchery starting. I'm talking about that 5th WR spot only. He makes more sense than Bersin he offers something in the film room. 5th WR doesn't really play and won't offer much of anything on this team on the field

If we get to a point where Bersin has to play in real games we are already beyond screwed.... at least Cotchery still has value in regards to Funchess. Prohel is gonna want some knowledge in that room. That is just how coaches roll IMO. They want help coming from elsewhere

No point keeping Bersin and cutting your vet leader in Cotchery. Both are just possession guys and Bersin doesn't offer upside. So Cotchery wins that role simply bc he is vet in that film room

I didn't say Tolbert wouldn't make the team. He will be 30 shortly and it shows IMO. He looked old last year. People somehow credited him with out win streak when it was Cam getting healthy and 28 beasting. People magically act like he was out there lead blocking for it all just b/c he was active for the games

he is old. It has been showing of late. Looked slow last year. Takes him a long time to get to back to line on those goalline plays....and he doesn't bulldoze like he use to IMO.

Well, our first team O generated about 2 rush yards in the first preseason game and 5 in the first half. I realize 28 didn't play but if we are built to run the ball we need to actually start showing some glimpses of that soon.
