Well, sophomore slumps are a thing. But the Bryce issue, is he just flat out doesn’t have the tools for this league. So there is no slump. He just isn’t functional for the NFL. Cam had a rough start to year 2. Tape does that. Then you adjust to them adjusting to you. Panthers seem to be clinging to this logic of but if everything goes just how we want it on a play he is a fine QB. If the lineman aren’t to close….and if he can see….and if he doesn’t have to jump….and if the route isn’t to far or is super wide open…..he can be perfect.

Maybe you are thinking of Dave Canales. He had a drinking problem. That’s in his book

Canales and company are lucky they get a week on the road I still think Tepper really struggles with public perception. I think those games where the boos are audible all game over the TV and dominates the talk impacts him. It’s why he pulls over his car and goes into restaurants too, drinks at fans lol. Not saying Canales would be in jeopardy….but do I think it increases the odds of his Monday morning meeting being full of “advice”. Yep. Something like…WTF Dave…you and your newb OC can’t do this?! Reich wasn’t terrible, but he was the offensive variant in the multiverse of Ron Rivera and John Fox. and if you are completely horrible with one of those guys….its a GM/talent issue. And that’s generally going to be your QB. Those are the textbook how to not suck and be average types

I mean I couldn’t be Joe Cool as people politely asked why I was a dumpster fire. But I’m not paid millions to do that very thing. More than just physical tools…Bryce has never seemed to have the standard mental makeup generally seen in the role at this level. I always go back to Eli Manning is really the only dude I have seen work out that just didn’t have it most of his career

what you need, is someone wired a little stupid if we are being honest. That has some hole or drive where winning a football game matters more than it should

I’m only confident he doesn’t care about the Panthers. I do be seeing some unexplained work being done for others. Or maybe that’s just cash working it’s powers on refs

I mean, the Panthers painfully have exposed the one place on the field Bryce can see well and feels he has the arm to get it there that isn’t some bologna check down it’s why about seasons have debuted with the same INTs. In the same spots on the field. That’s what coaches do. Try to start the year off with a bang and give the QB what they like most. That’s about as dangerous as he gets. But that’s it. So you take away that one spot in the middle of the field. He can’t go deeper or to the left or right (as those throws get longer and the ball floats). I mean technically he could. But those throws are all too hard for him with coverage and if he isn’t set properly.

You essentially don’t have to respect a variety of vertical and out routes. He isn’t making them. If he did, you would live win the rarity. He loves the same area over the middle. I think it’s because of his height and where he sits in the pocket. And it’s why every season has kicked off with his “go to spot”….being INT city. It’s the same from his debut rookie season at Atl. And outside of that you just aggressive play all the underneath stuff

Maybe one of those mysterious foot issues might pop up. In all seriousness, this is why Canales failed this offseason. He has no clue how to make Bryce work and should have repped him for 3 games to try to get ahead of this. and at this point, he ain’t helping Bryce. Canales denying the pooshow, is essentially going to put Bryce through the torture chamber. To be abused on and off the field. Bryce needs bench until Canales knows how to be functional with him.

Confidence is a weird thing. Other people can see when you do and don’t have it. Bryce doesn’t have it on the field. Heck, he didn’t have it at the podium today (dude was would scratch 18 body parts to get a sentence out). Bryce Young isn’t not playing with confidence. We all see that I’m glad he has a faith in the Lord and gets whatever he needs there. I’d be happy if he had it in any other religion as well. But a confident football player he is not

NFL defenses know he can’t make the throws downfield. He can’t make a lot of throws. They started last year, they just adjust to the few places he makes throws. It’s ball game.

Wait until that next gen passing chart comes out. Might as well let me play QB.

I think the NIL era will bring more of that in the near future. We are getting into the real NIL era kids coming in. You already got folks like team Sanders talKing that way. It’s coming

Canales presser today was bologna. Sure doesn’t sound like there is any real accountability here. reminds me of that Seahawk player who basically said they got annoyed with Canales’ style but because they won they ended up respecting it. But that winning was just Seattle. Not something Dave uniquely brought. College coaches are more critical of their players than Canales. At some point you can’t just dismiss this level of horrific with we are going to try harder and it’s a learning opportunity. It’s pro ball, with pro athletes.

Clown show. You should at least give coach speech of I have to look at the tape. Instead he is telling his entire team….a really bad message. Bryce is horrific. Horrific players shouldn’t be guaranteed a starting no matter what they do Dave is lucky it’s a road game next week. Because if it was in Charlotte it wouldn’t be the camera panning to one guy with a brown bag on his head like this week.
