  1. we are talking trajectory of the 2021 Lions vs 2024 Panthers. The 2021 Lions didn't inherit sophomore Goff. They inherited the veteran Pro Bowl QB that was going into year 6. How is that spinning stats for a narrative?
  2. year 1 of their rebuild, Det acquired a winning, veteran, former multi Pro Bowl QB. That's a level of stability to build around. year 1 of our rebuild, our HC inherited a young QB that logged the worst play in the NFL
  3. And the Canales defenders claimed he didn’t play the starters because of health….but today, he basically said he hasn’t played them because the O was still figuring stuff out? Which was always my guess. He didn’t want to put a group out there that looked bad and have to deal with that.
  4. I think Bryce Young is a bad QB, now in his 2nd O, with a new OL….and needs tons of reps. Like brand new rookie reps. That’s what they should have done. Bryce taking some token snap isn’t giving me what I want and yeah, that would be pointless. I don’t care to see him to play some 3 and out drive and sit. He just needs volume and to grow. The Panthers are a poorly run org and the worst in all of pros sports Conspiratorial? I basically have been taking the most boring and safe takes imaginable for years at this point. And I have largely been right overall on things because of it. When a bad org does things that don’t seem smart and smell funny…I don’t have the energy to invent how it will be different suddenly I don’t give a rip if we win 2 or 7 games. My mindset is the same as last year. We need a QB. I only care about how Bryce looks, not outcomes as of night now.
  5. I'll believe it when I see it. Specifically Bryce Young. I did see where someone noted he mentioned he wanted Dalton to rep
  6. I mean, they are a noteworthy improvement in talent, don't get me wrong. BUT when you put a bad C in between both of them, in what should be a predictable O with meh QB play? Well, they are going to feel the heat from the huddle at some point this year. That seems like a safe bet.
  7. they won't play. They were never going to play. Canales signaled this long ago.
  8. we could of never fired Ron Rivera and be in a better and more successful place today. Because that's Wilks. Heck, we could of just never fired John Fox. Because it's all the same. We wished we could evolve past that type/level of football....and now we dream of returning to it.
  9. I mean, it would have taken the best game of the season.....because we were going to have to win a game tilted for Peyton's proper ending. Refs 100% influenced the outcome of that game. If the big moments in that game where called correctly, Carolina wins IMO.
  10. Favre and Rodgers weren't helping the guys under them. Neither was a Tom Brady type. In fact, those dudes are actually trying to derail those behind them. I think it's largely just time. Game speed. Reps. Reps. and more reps with NFL caliber players at both sides of the ball. I think that's why you used to see a Kurt Waner or Jake Delhomme do so well. Tons of reps with NFL caliber players before they got their NFL shot.
  11. That entire group saw more action last year than Bryce. It was talked about a lot at the time. that entire group will have seen action this preseason. I think it's safe to say, our staff has been doing a horrible job getting a team ready to play. Preseason (an d not the just the games).....likely part of that botched puzzle. Because no matter the angle, we/Bryce stand out.
  12. I'd argue Rhule and Frank.....both were questioned about what appeared to be poor use of preseason time and lack of a plan in their first real preseasons (which was actually year 2 for Rhule). Rhule basically was a reality game show about if guys would rep. Never announcing until the last minute. Reporters were all over him. Frank repped Bryce noticeably less than any other rookie. Which is why the hiding O narratives keep popping up each era. I think it's clear Rhule and Frank limited the exposure because the product was questionable in house and what they were doing.
  13. I'm talking about our offensive coordinators. Every era is kicked off by someone who has never done the job before. Largely overseen (outside of Frank) by a green HC that really needs to spend their time figuring out there new HC job out. Just seems like maybe the worst O in the NFL, should not be so stuck in a repeating pattern. I think the preseasons all sort of have had the same vibe too. There certainly never appear to have a confident plan if you are an outsider. Always seems to be some game of maybe we can show you.....which you don't really see elsewhere like you do here. Andy Reid can just tell you upfront. Yes or no. It's not a Andy Reid is drawing out until kick off of a preseason game. Canales IMO is legit giving off some Matt Rhule vibes IMO.
  14. Well, I was really talking about the start of each new era. Rhule - never before OC Frank - never before OC Canales - never before OC McAdoo was picked up out of the trash can after that model of no one knowing what to do showed to be an error. Yet....we keep going right back to that formula each redo.
  15. maybe just maybe.....Carolina should try a first in the David Tepper era? Maybe we should try hiring our very FIRST OC that isn't figuring it all out for the first time how to do the job. Maybe part of the reason our O struggles so much.....is EVERY OC Tepper has employed has never done the job before. 3 for 3. On the job training. 2/3 lead by HCs who had ever done their job before either. I think that's part of why our preseasons under Tepper consistently are bologna pressers and this weird game of how to handle the preseason. Started with Rhule. They didn't know what to do. Was evident they were winging it when cameras/media got in year 2.
  16. local radio is questioning it, local media is questioning it, fans question it. I mean, we are the worst team in all of professional sports so nationally you we aren't going to be blip on any radar.
  17. it's one thing to ask a literal HOF QB with a decade of experience to play small ball with a shrunken field... when you ask some random green QB.....you get the worst O in the NFL (see last year)
  18. Austin Corbett has never even logged 1 NFL snap at C…..not a single snap. Patrick Mahomes was out this weekend throwing behind the back passes to Kelce lol
  19. His deep ball even in college was meh. I mean, there as no one talking about drafting him because of his ability to attack downfield at this level. It was the super mind point guard. Bryce is too small not to be a pocket QB. It’s the double edged sword of Bryce. You can only move the pocket so much before that gets too predictable
  20. The Jets aren’t an example of a team doing what we are doing. Which IMO is your argument here. they have a HOF QB, coming off an injury….there is something to protect. My challenge is still the same. Take the last 20 years. Name a really bad healthy young QB that a team sat all preseason? That was projected to start. It’s just not the norm in the NFL. Everyone isn’t doing that.
  21. I don’t think he has much choice. That’s the ask of QBs in all the prior Os. Issue is it’s never been his strength and being in traditional pro pocket I think plays against him. Just seems like a forced marriage of two things that don’t fit.
  22. that's not what he said at all. He simply knows he can't just say no this early on in the week. So he does some open to the idea of it if the stars aligned in a way that made sense lol. 0.0% chance. Bills are playing their backups. We already know their plans. McD puts it on the table. He is not playing the silly Panther preseason games we seem to be fixated on. Canales isn't putting his O out there to get smacked by backups as we head into the season. Whatever fake momentum we have would be stomped into the ground.
  23. bot hitting us with the double whammy. I'm convinced this is no bot. This is just a straight up troll at BOA.
