REPORT: Panthers open to trading down from #8
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I largely remain a fan of not trading up nor down in drafts.....and just using your picks to draft the best player. Almost every time they go up or down I feel they lose more times than not.- 104 replies

the most important aspect of the rebuild is the QB....and that working out is more dependent on the OL than anything else. We just saw that play out. And Bryce is still a work in progress that we hope to get right.

after sleepwalking for the entire game, they sure did come alive in the final 10 minutes Saturday. Charlotte FC is the best Charlotte team to follow at this point over the Panthers and Hornets. Team in general is fun to watch and you gotta like overall what they have done w/ building up this roster.

Ryan Fowler: Panthers hosting Texas A&M Shemar Stewart
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
and somehow Dan Morgan has gotten a pass for his involvement in how we got here. I mean, yeah, Dan threw big time cash at some guards last offseason. Any GM can pull of that. The drafting since Morgan and most of his crew have been in the mix has been subpar to date. I mean, can't fully judge them but clearly no early homeruns like you see around the league. best draft pick to date while Morgan has been on board was a 4th round RB. -
Decent listen. He talks about the Legend of Luke a bit (being so dedicated he didn't have a TV), 2015 season, guys he played w/ in Carolina. It's Luke, so there is nothing Earth shattering but it's not bad to plug in for a car ride home.

I think that option has run it's course. I think that spot is best used for longshot with bigger potential. We pretty much know him pretty well at this point.

swiss army do everything dudes are great for college. He never had a home positionally in the NFL. He fit everywhere and yet nowhere. -
REPORT: Panthers met with WR Hunter Renfro

True. As soon as I saw that bench press I knew it was bologna. Plus I had an edge over others given I am Dan Morgan’s alt account. -
REPORT: Panthers met with WR Hunter Renfro
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Renfrow ran some of the nasty routes out of the slot that could be ran. He is now 30. Renfrow losing that quickness in his feet that comes with age......is just a massive nail in the coffin, given his niche at this level. -

that is not Hunter Renfrow's info. That's DT Desmond Watson. First clue should of been the bench press -

Renfrow is one of my top 5 favorite all time Tigers. I'd pass here. The Bryce to Renfrow memes we would have to face isn't worth it. -

Renfrow can work select routes in the slot as good as anyone. He isn't a plug into any offense type or just any slot role type. -

I don't think he was washed so much as Hunter Renfrow is a very specific niche player that requires actually playing to that niche and it built into an O. He is rather pointless to have if you aren't going to have an O he fits into and the specific work he does. Can the average NFL player cover the Renfrow route/game? Not really. But your O has to want that in your O. If just ask him to sub in for a random WR.....that doesn't really work. -
I still think Luke Kuechly is technically the best actual football player we have ever had. He just didn't play as impactful of a position as DE, WR, QB are viewed. Luke had less flaws/negatives than any other GOAT

No Abada, No Tim, No Agyemang…..FC dominates at home. Didn’t see that coming.

Panthers Prospect Visits/Meetings (Final Update-4/22)
CRA replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Miami’s Restrepo didn’t run at combine and posted a 4.8 at his pro day. That’s a brutal time at a pro day where everything works in your favor -
if DJ Moore added a ball spin, barked, and had funny one liners.....people would have loved him (and he played the exact same). DJ Moore is probably our most underrated WR in Panther history. Only thing that has held him back is the offenses he has played in (which still holds true outside of Carolina)

Growing Sense that we take Mykel/Shemar, No matter who's available

I liked last years approach where XL just flat said he was going to the be the pick -
UNC got in for the same reason 789 SEC teams got in. It is what it is.

Panthers sign Jaycee Horn to $100 million dollar deal
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes. Throughout out his entire career. Not sure what you are trying to argue....that Jayce Horn hasn't been Mr. Glass while in Carolina? Jeff Otah while employed started in a higher % of games and he is the historical board meme for not being able to play. His cumulative career and not suiting up is the knock. And given what that has been....I'm not cherry picking last year out and just assuming a guy that never can stay healthy totally would have been there if we needed him. -
so to be clear, upon your review, an All Pro/Pro Bowl/All Rookie Team season isn't an example of a rookie showing his team he is a legit NFL player? That's some mental gymnastics IMO. you concede Morgan. So that's 2 out of your 3. Which does leave Jenkins, who still managed 11 starts as a rookie and was a Pro Bowler by year 2. I just don't see how THAT trio is what you are going to dig your heels in on as the example of needing time and patience. Sure everyone needs time to develop. Some positions more than others (as I highlighted, I think guys in trenches need more time than other spots). But in today's NFL, skill players should be showing you windows and glimpses they were the right pick pending they get opportunity and their aren't unusual circumstances. It's not 1990. They are out there running college schemes in today's NFL. Passing game is totally different today. And it's way you see all these 1k seasons from rookie after rookie after rookie after rookie today...they didn't exist years ago. So when Mingo looks like utter trash......you don't need to let 3 years in the books sink in before starting to judge him.

Panthers sign Jaycee Horn to $100 million dollar deal
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I’m not giving the benefit of the doubt to someone that has been Mr. Glass throughout his entire career here. I don’t know if he would have suited up if it mattered….because it’s Jayce Horn. Hunt isn’t Horn. No one is Horn. it’s not dishonest to point out Horn had never played a full season. He hasn’t. He barely has played over 50% of the time. -
Panthers sign Jaycee Horn to $100 million dollar deal
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
you are giving Horn a benefit of the doubt his career history says he shouldn't get. We don't know he would have suited up if it mattered at the end. Horn was limited the week prior going into the AZ game. and then the only reason you shut him down and only him.....is he so injury prone vs the rest of the field. Which isn't really a great aspect of Horn. That he has to get special treatment because he is so easily injured.
