  1. True. But we don’t even have an inconsistent deep ball right now.
  2. Teddy was a checkdown and conservative QB. And I'm not comparing a vet to a rookie. But people keep saying that Bryce is attacking downfield more than Teddy and that is just factually wrong. It is non-existent under Bryce for whatever reason. that's just a 4 game stretch. Only shows week 5-17. But overall, yeah, Teddy went downfield much more than Bryce Young has and it's not much of a debate. And Teddy hated doing that. It doesn't exist under Bryce. It sporadically was part of Teddy's game here. most certainly there can be debate about why Bryce isn't. Might have little to do with Bryce. But he isn't. And Teddy did it much more consistently. So rookie Bryce isn't even close to threatening downfield as much as one of the biggest check downers and conservative throwers we have seen.
  3. Addressed this in another thread, but Teddy's next gen pass charts are still available for his time in Carolina. Reality is, Teddy Bridgwater attacked the field deep more than Bryce Young is doing. And it's really not close. And that's not claiming Teddy did it much. But it doesn't exist under Young to date for whatever reason. Teddy factually had shots and completions downfield.
  4. I don't buy that at all. I think that is coach speak in front of a microphone. This is Frank Reich's O. Which is well established.
  5. Thomas Brown is really an unknown to an extent in terms of what he will bring and focus on. The ideal scheme and coaching I would like to see is what McVay did with Goff. Brown was only with him for 3 years and 2 of those were the Stafford seasons where McVay tweaked the O more to a traditional drop back passer for the vet Stafford. I really think those motions looks pre-Stafford would help Bryce out a lot. Outside of that, Thomas Brown's resume is basically all run game oriented. Which that would help the rookie out too of we became more productive. I just hate Frank installed his offense. So Thomas Brown is still going to be working inside of that.
  6. wish it wasn't out of the Frank Reich installed system. Thomas Brown can't reinvent the wheel on Bryce overnight.
  7. you park billions into a sports team so your net worth grows. That is why Tepper is here. That is purpose and priority #1. professional sports teams have been fantastic investment vehicles for folks the last several decades. It just financial diversification for the mega wealthy.
  8. I still think it is odd that Snow and Rhule finally parted ways after all these years and he didn't follow him to Nebraska.
  9. the real answer is we shouldn't of brought in a Wilks/Reich. Not wanting a Wilks type coach is a fine position. But we hired an offensive variation of him. Frankly, Wilks is probably a better version of that type despite being a defensive variant. it's 2023. We should of hired a HC suited for that. Which isn't Wilks or Reich.
  10. It’s not like Tepper is the first controlling owner the league has seen. There are still only 32 of these gigs in existence. Even being horrible as a HC keeps you employed in the good old boys network down the road. Frank needed time off. We look like a team that just hired a fired offensive train wreck. Because we did.
  11. Pat speaking some truth here. Good clip. Some very basic observation about Frank looking to be in trouble. He doesn’t look or sound good. Really like his Tepper rant at the 8 minute mark…which is basically an overly involved wealthy guy going….we need to fire the HC, we need to hire a new HC. We need to fire GM, we need hire a new GM. We need a new QB. We need a need to fire the playcaller. We need a new QB. We need a new playcaller. We need to fire the HC. We need a new HC. We need a new QB. We need a new playcaller. And that brings us to today. who would want to come to this poo show.
  12. No coach is going to stand there and say Tepper said I had to do it. Nor would Tepper want that. None of that would square. and you know it wasn’t the truth with Frank’s bullshit reasoning of why he decided now…..when he claimed he finally had the offense in a rhythm as the justification. No one that follows football believes the Panthers offense is finally in a rhythm lol. They got blanked the last 3 quarters vs a meh defense. That’s a bold face lie.
  13. motion is the McVay tree. So hopefully he adds it.
  14. Panthers offense was shut out the last 3 quarters......as Frank declares his 0-6 team has found a rhythm. this is borderline Matt Rhule "you just can't see it" bologna. but I get it, you can't say David demanded the change and I made it. But end of the day, it's a hard sales job that Frank made this move on his own. Got to feel given the talk Frank has already openly put out there on Dave.....the team has to realize their coach doesn't really hold the power. Which isn't a good thing either.
  15. would like to see an increase in motion to help Bryce
  16. less predictable playcalling certainly helps though. We aren't going to suddenly be good. But there could be improvement.
  17. Frank in his presser today: The offense has finally found a rhythm and that's why he can turn it over to Brown
  18. Well, that the name of the game in the NFL. When it gets bad....it becomes about fall guys and blame shifting. Been that way for years. I think Fitt rightfully goes at some point this season personally.
  19. Thank goodness those defensive touchdowns can afford the PR team a bogus stat to pimp
  20. that was just coach speak for quit asking me IMO. Frank was blasted at Indy on his way out and was a hot topic coming in. because the rational he was using was he would get the O up and performing well and THEN might hand it over. Not have it be dumpster fire and then toss it to Brown. Frank has already let us know how ticked and involved Tepper is. Just seems like Tepper doing what Frank essentially let us know Tepper would be doing.
  21. I thought there was reporting that the owner/gm paired a lot of this up....and it wasn't just them hiring a HC that did what he pleased.
  22. I don't think Frank hired all the staff to begin with.
  23. Tepper is horrific/the devil......and Tepper most likely forced Frank into a fairly obvious decision. Frank and other folks have made it to clear of Tepper's unhappiness and involvement. And that was an easy call for Tepper to enforce on his coach at the 0-6 bye.
  24. SUPER safe bet that Frank didn't make that decision. Tepper made that decision in one of their "talks". and I am also willing to bet the playcalling will better vs the Texans.
