  1. Luke Kuechly is probably the smartest guy in the room....in a lot of football rooms he walks into. I'm not saying he was forced out. But if you wanted a hypothetical reason of why a brand new and green NFL staff might not love him. That could be a reason.
  2. Gotcha. It was defiantly lucky. Got no problem with that added in
  3. yeah, that wasn't the point I was making at all. just that a super lucky play doesn't always completely void what a player did....and the outcome isn't the same for every player that would have found himself in same lucky scenario. Chubba got lucky. But there was plenty also shown on that play that was Chubba being different than some other RBs we have seen on our roster.
  4. yeah, luck happens. My favorite 89 play is that one where he broke what appeared to be 57 tackles vs Houston and came out of that pile for a long and easy TD. Lot of luck involved. But probably still required 89 to take advantage of that scenario. Despite all that luck, a lot of that was still 89.
  5. also, the guy chasing Marshall was locked in on a straight line sprint going all out. Marshall was out there turning his head left and right looking for defenders to stiff arm and evade. Even if they had the exact same top end speed...the defender is going to be faster just given what the two were doing. Plays like that are why preseason games actually matter though for young guys. Real game scenarios. Learning experiences. It takes work to figure out the league where everyone is fast and strong. That probably was an easy TD in college for him. Gotta find another gear and moves to pull it off in a NFL game.
  6. again, preseason games give you the chance for actual game reps and scenarios. We literally went on the road in a dome that had opposing fans. That is where you prep your team for playing in those environments. To practice. Any road dome, even in the preseason, can get loud. So yeah, I would think a very basic silent count is kind of basic stuff you would have guys prepared to practice. Clearly they discussed it. Grier alluded to that. Rhule simply thought they wouldn't need it per Grier. Rhule is just a green HC. It is showing and people act like someone called their child ugly every time it gets brought up. Our own QBs are the ones who keep pointing out the prep just isn't there yet. and then the counter, is to claim like people are claiming the world is ending. No, the world isn't ending. Rhule just needs to get better.
  7. Sly needs to go. We basically keep him so we can trot him out to attempt and miss a 70 yard circus kick. I’d rather just have a more consistent 30-50 range kicker
  8. Will Grier is a really bad QB to date. He needs reps on basics. Not holding a lead. Will Grier could never lead this team to a lead to hold at this stage.
  9. PJ’s two biggest plays were a byproduct of the play breaking down because he was using his feet. I think PJ has Tyrod Taylor potential. I’ve just never seen anything from Grier.
  10. oh yeah, and there also is hand clocked times by coaches lol.
  11. Gotcha. Yeah, 4.4 isn’t runaway from the field speed anymore. Especially the way guys train to get their 40 time. Football speed vs timed 40 speed. You can also have two guys with 4.4 speed and it also just looks different in a game.
  12. Guys like Samuel have that quick change of direction speed. Robby more that straight line speed. DJ IMO is the perfect mix. I don’t care Marshall got caught from behind. He isn’t suppose to be that type dude. was a more surprised with Chubba
  13. As a reminder, Matt Rhule is the 6th highest paid HC in the NFL.
  14. And I can accept that to a degree. Just think we should be able to talk about it. not blindly defend it all. Started with Teddy. Teddy can suck as a starting QB and point out a legit criticism of a brand new NFL staff. Both can be true.
  15. PJ Mr Undefeated Walker Marshall/Chubba/Tremble
  16. Rhule really starting to worry me ever since last season ended. and I’m still not sure about how Rhule went about this week as a whole. - he was going to play his starters -then he advised he let the Colts dictate how they wanted to practice. Whatever they wanted. - Colts HC wanted to rep his starters hard in practice and not play his winning football team in the preseason game. Announcers hit on the fact that it was Colts HC’s preference. -Rhule then changed his mind on playing his starters IMO following the Colts. But we aren’t a winning team primarily focused on health. We are a young bad team that needs to be repping Darnold, Horn, etc.
  17. Rams are a win now playoff team that added a strong veteran QB to hopefully put them over the top. we are a 5 win team trying to rehab a young bust QB these two things are not the same. overall NFL coaches are repping guys like Sam Darnold. Rhule is against the grain here. That is what it is. You can be cool with Rhule not doing what experienced NFL coaches are doing. Maybe he is smarter than them. But it remains something fair to point out.
  18. Consistent. Teddy gives you that. No surprises. if you had the 85 Bears D and All Pro RB you would have your guy.
  19. How is this the same tried bs though? Or are you just talking about being critical of Rhule? I just think it is an odd enough call to question Rhule on it. He is very green so things are going to happen. Not thinking your 24 year old QB who is brand new and hasn’t been a very good QB to date….doesn’t need preseason game 1 or 2 is unusual enough to call out IMO. I mean, the case could be made Sam is once again not being out in the best position to succeed. His QB room sucks. His OL sucks. And now we are holding him out of game simulation reps which isn’t the norm for someone like him. I know I know….great weapons and Joe Brady. Those are great things he hasn’t had. But some of Sam’s issues have always been Sam.
  20. Yep. Important to have some preseason work where young QBs aren’t protected like in practice. Gives them a chance to experience and work on things like real ball security.
  21. OP was out too early. Fields had a good first preseason game. 14/20, 70% comp, 175 total yards, 2 TDs.
  22. OP really nailed that one. Fields settled in after opening nerves and had an impressive day considering it was his first NFL action.
  23. Who said we are doomed lol. But that is the general response by some when people discuss anything about Rhule that isn’t projecting sunshine and rainbows. Fields has nothing to do with this sort of conversation. Which is why I have had them about Rhule before the draft and back into last year
