Everything else missing like it doesn't matter

Leggette, Mingo and TMJ all play slow even with them actually testing faster in the 40. They have a type and it's not good. Good 40 times and they skip the cones and shuttle. They aren't football fast, they are 40 fast. Add in they all are projects needing serious work to be more than a school level WR. If they actually did the drills their stock would have dropped because they all have poorer agility and acceleration. It's like the team is allergic to a well rounded WR early since Moore.

How about Leggette and a 5th with a 20 mil a year deal? Just kidding, maybe next year with his dead money. I honestly don't want to know the size of contract that would make him want to come here. And if he would come here for a bloated contract then I don't want to see him here anyways.

REPORT: Panthers going after SAF Jevon Holland
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm way more interested in fixing the front 7 first but there is no way they can do it all this offseason. They don't need to be bidding on the top guys at any position. They need to find guys who want playing time and to prove themselves. Get closer to .500 and then you can sell the talent on being a contender. It's not a thing yet. Not impressed about over spending instead of being savvy again. -
Who are your favorite prospects in this upcoming draft?
Waldo replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
My guy in the first is Trade Back. I don't know if he is on the board at 8 but getting an extra 2nd would be the home run. -
No he isn't likely going to be elite for another contract. He is a great bridge guy who is going to decline on the field soon so either they extend him with something like a 3 year deal with 2 year opt out. That's worth a 4th. If he was 29 he would be worth a 2nd and gaint new contract. It's not really shocking. He is leaving a team with multiple rings just coming off a SB loss. Those rosters have to make these moves and it's not like they are thrilled with it, it's necessary.

How about trade Horn and understand DK doesn't want to come to a worse team. Sucks about Horn but getting paid NFL high for 1 healthy year is a hard pass...I hope

Big cap savings and it's an OG.

NFL teams hire a lot of employees that do their jobs poorly and still usually stick around a few years because the job plays out season by season. With all of the stories about the hiring processes, just like the drafting process, it shouldn't be a mystery why. Bozeman wasn't a match for the scheme yet still got an extension. BC has never been healthy and he wasn't good enough for the people in charge to not buy both of the highest OGs and make him a swing tackle. Like 1? OK. But both? With Moton going into 30 mil the following year at 30+? Yeah that's not great management IMO. Not even going into Corbett at C because he wasn't healthy enough again to really matter and they are lined up to try it again. Mays is a huge green flag. That's the kind of guy we need more of. Prove it guys that at worst you can't afford because they did well.
-
No one had a problem building the line. Us fans have been screaming for improvement there for years. The Bears just did it a lot better. And saying our poorly managed cap led us to the D when signing the most expensive OGs is ironic AF. The point is that you can find good OG play and not end up in such a poorly managed situation. Get an oline, especially for Young QBs. Duh. It's embarrassing neither team thought that was important for a rookie. Just stop there IMO. The Panthers didn't do it right because it doesn't help a young QB to have such a bad D. It's half a good job and again it looks like the Bears are making a better swing than the Panthers did...so far. It is the Bears
-
Meh I get the intent but signing the OGs at the highest price and coming out with a historically bad D isn't something other teams should do. The Bears took a better route. Older guys but cheaper. Only negative I got there is that they still need to take an OG this year but that 4th is 2026 so it really should be hard for them to make a solid swing before it's a gapping hole again.

REPORT: Panthers interested in WR Darius Slayton
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
They did well with Coker. I'd rather have 3 UDFA than this guy. -
I was not excited by the pick and unfortunately he lived up to the concerns. I would have more hope improvement if he wasn't such a dull bulb.

Joe Person: Panthers really like Mason Graham and Jalon Walker
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not sold on either at 8 yet. I get the nagging feeling they end up blowing another 1st this year. These guys look like 2nd round guys to me so far. A tweener edge guy and a weak DE that could be picked up later. -
That and they also had terrible taste last year. Taking a blocking TE at 8 is a good way to get fired. I need to see this guys numbers because he looked slow on tape and thst was against college players
-
Fug projects and workout warriors. 100% not interested this year.

In drafts like this there are so few wow players that the media will have to overhype up guys to fill the time. It's plausible someone falls in love and makes a move. Not every team has needs as gigantic as the Panthers. It's not a lock for sure but given what's likely to be available # 8 it's what I am hoping for as it stands.
-
I don't think he is very valuable but this team seems to think so. Brining back Corbett is the same for me.
-
I would even take a trade back into the 20s if they had an earlier 2nd. Going to be hard but that's the wish. The guys in our pick range are not very good for a #8 pick.
-
I don't like his availability. It's the same as Corbett for me. I would take a swing g elsewhere personally even if he does have the versatility
-
It's an easy draft for a team with a need to take a swing. It's certainly not give but it also only ties one team to make it happen.
-
I don't want BC really. Dude has had tons of chances and I hope we aren't the team to overpay. We need depth and that's why I hope it's a trade back. RT and C are not strong spots long term and could actually be weaknesses faster. I think I would keep Ickey at LT and see if anyone trades up if a LT is there at our pick. People here didn't want to trade back very far but so far it but if it gave is more ammo in the 2nd and early 3rd I would be thrilled. So far but still.
-
Honestly a trade back with a rt and an extra 2nd for that teir of D players sounds best end case if he is that messed up. In this draft I don't get it at 8th. LT yes but not RT. Looks like a great draft to pick up extra 2nds and early 3rds.

Leggette was always a BS pick. His college stuff was NFL meh. Likable guy but whatever. Good to see them absorbe Moton this year. Continuing on like it's a stacked team and having to hide cap when it's not has been ridiculous lately. I hope h has enough left for one more year if not many more. I just never betting on big guys getting over injuries anymore even if I eant to see it.
