Getting a team up to speed and discipline has been so nonexistent here that fans forget coaches do more than call plays...
-
But how are his cheerleaders skills? Tepper hasn't come close to hiring that level of competence. I hate that we missed out on him.
-
I agree but he got lots of praise for Baker when Baker was better with the next guy. Geno was old enough and been around enough to finally overcome his mental issues to become solid.
-
Pretty much. The Plumber thing is getting comical but behind Dalton it's just insulting at this point
-
It's weird that a 'qb whisper' has not brought in one guy who could develop. Not even about Bryce just the two other spots he is wasting with nothingness this year.
-
They just signed a SS that's only useful in Evero's scheme and a liability pretty much in any other D I can think of and an absolute dinosaur in 4-3. Im fine on the 3-4, I just don't like the scheme or coaching personally. I also don't see any easy switch to 4-3. That unit has failed on most of their personal choices since Evero got here and at this point it's wishful thinking anything changed this year until something actually changes. If/when it does then we can all talk about what switch will be good in the future because I have zero faith Evero pulls himself out of the nose dive he is in currently.

Team will never be good as long as Tepper owns the team
Waldo replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Who kept Evero and spent an offseason building around him? After a historically bad year none the less. Now you expect them to lure a DC to help save their jobs? They should have done that this season since the new guy would have had the ability to splurge on his guys. I like DC as an OC but he is soft and undisciplined as a HC. Dan has value too but I haven't seen anything to lead me to belive he will ever be a great GM. I think both are over promoted which only ends one way unfortunately. -
Dan built a D around a not good DC and with what they spent in cap and picks his job security should be on the line. Looking at the work he has done recentpy it's more than fair to be skeptical at this point. On thr flip side Im more impressed with his cheap gems than his high picks or expensive free agents. Coker should be above XL on the depth chart so even if he can fins them they still have to play them while navigating the politics of the situation.

The team is and remains a bottom dweller. On the flip side they are so bad that teams will play down to them again so there will be mirage games again this year that will feel more fun in another losing season. DM is meh at best, DC is soft and sloppy while needing a lot more experience and Evero remains the same overhyped trash he has been since Denver let him walk. At least Tepper has behaved well enough that when this crew earns a mass firing it won't look as bad as the last pooshow he created that gave us this 'improved' bottom dwelling crew. Well if I can't watch good football then I'm going to keep laughing at the clown show. Just another year under Tepper. -
Even with a preseason curve it's exactly what you would expect from this team after years of showing who they really are under Tepper.

Joe Person: Panthers really like Mason Graham and Jalon Walker
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol. How about sitting through a draft process completely underwhelmed. When you see what you expected it's just the long road to being proven correct. -

The guys at the top is what gets churned over and over again at draft time. They tried to make anyone going in the top of the draft stand out but the depth looked way better after their personal 'buts' were discussed. It was what, 2 guys and then basically guys you would see at the end of the 1st or 2nd in most other drafts? -

This last draft was so overhyped. The only draft I can remember with comparable unearned hype was the covid draft and even that wasn't as bad as this year because everyone knew the covid draft was warped vs this one being normal ass being sold as gold. -

Mixed bag I can agree on. Rhule was obvious but now it's all over the place. They also injected leaning into PFFs grades this year.
-
I agree about the evaluations being more broken but then the development hasn't been impressive either IMO.

In it self no it's not a bad thing. It becomes an issue when they brought back Austin to play on IR most of the season again. That's not a knock on Mays but the situation. It's BC at LG all over. But on the flip side that's how they were forced to go out and sign a good LG the next year. All of the talk and hope of improvement comes down to guys like Mays taking that step. There is something developmentally going on that Im not impressed with going on with this team. Austin and Dalton were 2 guys they obviously can't lean on at this point and yet both are still here taking up space.

Hands on a WR? That's crazy. Next you will tell me the ability to get separation is better than size...
-
At this point they actually have to prove they are not a bottom 5 team before anyone not selling clicks or tuning in to watch for fun to believe. Have they improved? Sure. Are they good? It does not appear that way at this point. Lots of best case scenarios would have to happen for that to be true and given our history I think I have better odds on a $2 loto ticket winning a jackpot.
-
It's not a great sign Mays hasn't just out right won that spot yet. Someone said he is like BC and I can't get thst out of my head.
-
XL was always fools gold. Give me hands and hunger over upside and overdraft every day at WR. The trade just made it comical in my eyes. Whatever, Coker saved them last year and they need to lean on him again this year. XL has shown jackall to earn a starting spot at this point. Hell, maybe it would light a fire under his butt to improve if, when really, Coker takes his reps and jumps him on the depth chart this year.

Evero?!?! Should he be on the Hot Seat
Waldo replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
His only real success was running someone else's D and scheme with a soft decline. That's it. I have no idea what the team sees in him or why they brought him back in a year when they were building on the D heavily. Everything I have seen so far leads me to view this as a deadend. -
Killer leg but it's the Jags. If a kicker is your doom from another bottom dweller who also has a 1st year HC in his forst game then it's going to be a brutal season. Sounds like a game Ron would love, the threat of 3 points.

It's a preseason game, but...losing is not an option.
Waldo replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im not taking this team seriously until they prove they should be taken seriously. 6 wins sound about right so Vagas knows what's up.
