  1. Did you miss Dan turning to T during that jets trade to see if T thinks it’s a good idea? Or all the shots of Dan bouncing ideas off T to get feedback. Or the fact that T sat between Dan and Canales. I get T is the owner, but he gives nothing of value in those discussions. Dan needs better quality input. If you’ve ever worked in corporate, you know how fast people bend to the HIPPO even if that person isn’t really being a jerk about it. Just my observation.
  2. Watch the video from 35min to 37min. Tepper is still clearing giving his input and Dan is clearly looking for his approval…and this is the edited version to make T look good. Given his track record, I don’t like his influence in that room. It may have been a small part of the video, but it was 3 full days of draft time. I don’t mind T being there, but I don’t like how Dan doesn’t seem comfortable making a decision without T giving the nod.
  3. High points: 1) I like the new FA additions. Forgot we added some of those guys. 2) Brandt Tilis seems like your average huddler. Low points: 1) Dan Morgan seemingly wanting Tepper’s approval for every draft day decisions. 2) Canales saying a potential draft pick is “one of us”.
  4. After what Tepper did the Rock Hill, good luck finding another suburb willing to play ball.
  5. Navarro was going to have to borrow most of the money to buy the team. Operating capital would probably have been an issue for him. Remember, when teams write big contracts, the entire guaranteed sum of that contract has to go into an escrow account. Ben also made all of his money operating a debt collections business. During Covid, his company filed more debt collection lawsuits than anyone else. Not the look the NFL wants.
  6. Like when the team discovers the coach’s golden retriever is an amazing QB and takes the team to the playoffs?
  7. When you think about what DC has said about getting the ball out in 2.7 secs, this makes sense. 1st or 2nd read then check down. XL is going to be that check down option a good bit of the time. They need that non-RB option. Someone fast and big. It will take a few years for him to become a route runner if he’s capable of that.
  8. XL isn’t much of a route runner at this point. Canales has already said his role will be running posts and out of the backfield type stuff.
  9. I forgot Center was a question mark too. We need a lot of key positions to take a big step forward in their skill levels.
  10. That OL has no depth and a huge question mark at LT. If Ickey stays the same and one of those new guards goes down, it’s last year all over again. We also have one proven WR. That guy is going to get doubled. We need one more WR that can get open in time. Who is that? I hope Brooks comes on strong. We need a better runner.
  11. Its about at the point where we could have had an entirely different offense with the number of picks we’ve spent on QBs. These wasted picks are more devastating than anything else.
  12. This is a team of bad draft picks and other team’s discarded jags. To be a good team, we would need to upgrade nearly every starting player. DB can stay.
  13. Sounds like they haven’t made the playbook yet. Waiting to see what everyone does best. Interesting. And as the coaching staff gets to know Young better, that rhythm will adjust how they build a playbook and eventually, call games. "We're going to fit this offense to Bryce," Carroll promised. "Right now we're in the process of teaching all of our concepts still. As we get closer through training camp and then finally in the season, we'll finally get to our real offense and what we're going to be with Bryce, and he'll have input at times on certain things that he likes. And we'll try to make the best out of what we have here and try to be as hard to stop on offense as possible."
  14. He went to a far better situation. He should be happy.
  15. It’s a city only fund. The state just mandates that cities use that tax money on tourism related projects.
  16. The deal is already done. I don’t love it, but at least he’s paying over 50% and the public money comes from hotel taxes which can’t be used for any other purpose. I’d still prefer the tourism tax money be used for other non-sports construction, but it’s better than using property and sales taxes I guess.
  17. Yes, but that might get you one or two above average players. You need more than that to win. You need a guy at each key position that you would never trade or let go.
  18. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article288967315.html#campaignName=charlotte_breaking_newsletter Panthers want $650 million from Charlotte. In exchange they promise to stay for 20 years.
  19. This team is mostly made up of other team’s rejects. Derek Brown is our only blue chip player. You can’t win with a roster like that. Years of bad drafting and bad trades have caught up.
  20. No, but new practice facility, HQ, hotel, and significant stadium renovations would cost 1.2B. I don’t think they could do all that and a dome for 1.2B
