PFF names Panthers QB Bryce Young the best deep passer
jfra78 replied to pantherclaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
I never thought that he couldn't throw it deep, just that he doesn't. He has been more willing to push the ball downfield, and i like what I've seen recently. I still think his arm is weak, meaning he has no zip on the ball, but if he can continue to make up for it with anticipation then he will be ok. -
Maybe it was really just watching Dalton trust the oline and push the ball down field, or maybe the game has just slowed down to him. I hope he continues to trend upwards. I'm still not 100% sold on him but I'm warming up to it, which I never thought would happen

This. He has come a long way in just a couple years. I believe he has the work ethic to become a really good reciever.

There are tons of threads praising Bryce since Sunday. Stop rewriting history -

This is revisionist history. Everyone complained about smitty constantly having to stop his route to catch Delhommes passes -

Most praised Bryce for his performance on Sunday, even the "haters". -
This has been working out so well for us
-
I like that combo and been doing that in mocks
-
BPA as long as it's an edge or LB. Also, I don't think we picking top 5
-
Even if that's true, he is being measured the same as everyone else. They aren't counting other recievers drops on hard catches and giving XL a break. Honestly we don't know how they measure it, but you can still compare him with other recievers.
-
You don't think the huddle over reacts?
-
Some comparables.. Marvin Harrison 4/37, Tyler Lockett 4/40, Calvin Ridley 4/40, Metcalf 4/46. Yall do know he's a rookie right?

According to fantasy pros XL has 4 on 34 catchable balls. Amari Cooper leads league with 11 on 42 https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-wr.php

Lol Bryce needs to walk on water for you to give him a pass
-
You can't seriously think the reason we lost today was because of Bryce
-
I've been one of the biggest Bryce haters on here, but this just seems like you are grasping at anything to hate. Was he perfect, no, but if he continues to play the way he did today I could live with him at QB
-
Not much production, but I like the way he runs.
-
This was Bryce's best game to me. If he can do thia consistently it's a good thing for the Panthers.
-
I like the run he plays aggresively
-
Yea, but he hasn't played in forever going against a good run d and everyone else is in mid-season form. Not the end of the world if he fumbles for me. If it continues then yea
