Who knows if Fields had DJ Moore and CMC from his first start he might look a lot better.

I don't know if I can bring myself to watch this again.... It was so bad the first time.

I think as @CRA stated we didn't want anther top 10 pick used on a linebacker. I don't think it was realized how good of a pass rusher he could be and has become. We also had Burns and needed a LT, QB. CB, and probably a lot more... https://www.nfl.com/prospects/micah-parsons/32005041-5275-3418-9a2d-9826287ee445 NFL comparison there is Myles Jack who is more of the traditional MLB type of player vs pass rusher.

I remember a big Fields vs Slater debate. I wanted Fields, but yeah Slater would have been the best choice IMO. Parsons didn't play that COVID year so I don't think he was as hot of a topic as people are remembering.

Sanders, Ewers, Daniels (Kansas), Allar (only 2nd year), I would expect Ward returns as well, Rising said he is returning (not a high pick anyway). Just off the top of my head it could be a decent class...

OL PFFs grades are out. *Warning for the weak stomach*

It's also a reoccurring issue with Reich. I'm not sure it gets better until he is gone or the OL is completely redone.... -

They are coming right up the middle through our center and guards. What you are saying would make more sense if our tackles were struggling the most. Moton is the only one who played well. They lined Parsons up directly over Bozeman and he got to Bryce in under 2.5 seconds damn near every time. -
Pederson called the plays I believe.
-
That’s how they played against Cam all game long.

How often were his QBs getting pressured? I’m concerned Reich has issues with OL in his scheme. I know Luck retired early due to injuries and he was constantly hit, but Frank only had him for one year. Even in his 3 wins his last season the offense struggled and his QB was abused. Our OL looks way worse under him than it did last year as well.
-
Just showing how he has become outdated. Plus I stumbled across this Matt Ryan article and it looked very familiar. @CRA was mentioning his offensive issues dating back to San Diego. I’ll have to see how Rivers and Wentz held up in a Reich OL scheme…

Yeah he needs enough comfort to think enough to change his footwork from his current “natural” positions. You are 100% right though, it has to be cleaned up ASAP. The good news is he seems pretty coachable. -
The 3 wins were pretty low scoring and their QB was getting destroyed the whole time. If we want to get a decent OL, protect our QB, and open up our offense the first step is to remove Reich. Fitt is probably step 2 or 1B…

The number of constant pressures and sacks is similar. The best and quickest way to fix our OL is to move on from Reich.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35305300/how-matt-ryan-season-colts-fell-apart This article highlights a lot of what went wrong Reich's last year in Indy and boy does it sound a lot like what we have going on here. A seasoned vet like Ryan still struggled in Reich's dated schemes. He finished with 6.6 YPA 14 TDs 13 INTs in 12 games with a QBR of 44.9. That's with Pittman as a solid WR and Taylor as a great RB. Their wins were 20-17, 12-9, and 25-20 all low scoring and the one games they scored 36 was due to 5 FGS a special teams TD and a defensive TD. He had one solid game against the Jags but outside of that it was a terrible year. Ryan was a seasoned vet at the end of his career and he couldn't survive in Reich's most recent offense. We are now throwing a rookie QB in a very similar situation with possibly less weapons and expecting better results. The quickest way to fix this mess is to move on from Reich like the Colts did and of course Fitt can follow him out the door for assembling this roster and hyping up how we were just a QB away... I posted some highlights of the article below and tell me if it doesn't sound pretty damn familiar. "The Colts' offense has been among the worst in the NFL. Ryan, 37, produced touchdown passes at the lowest rate of his 15-year career. Meanwhile, he threw interceptions more often than he has in any season since 2009. Most of all, the Colts (4-9-1) are enduring one of their worst seasons in the past decade." In the season opener, Ryan was under consistent pressure. The only thing worse was the manner in which Ryan responded. He fumbled four times, losing one, and threw an ugly interception. Ryan's second-half heroics allowed the Colts to secure a tie and allowed Ryan to save some face. But in Week 2, when the Colts were embarrassed again in Jacksonville in a 24-0 loss, it was becoming clear that maybe they weren't the team Ryan thought he was joining. By Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans, it was apparent the pass rush was getting to Ryan and severely impacting his decision-making. He was hit 10 times, sacked three times and threw a pick-six in the 19-10 loss. The synergy Ryan hoped to develop with his new teammates seemed nonexistent." He had an adjusted QBR of 41.3 (23rd in the NFL at the time) and led the league with nine interceptions. But he'd also been sacked 24 times, and the Colts, shockingly, ranked 29th in yards per rushing attempt. Too much of the load was falling on Ryan. That was never the intention.

Look at how much better the Colts OL looks this year vs last year when Matt Ryan was getting sacked at an alarming rate. Reich has to go if we want to see our OL improve. -

Kurt Warner's Breakdown of BY(P.U) during the Bears Game
ForJimmy replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree and thanks for keeping it classy. I guess my thought is if he is getting pressured that quickly and that frequently he is going to revert back to bad habits. You are right in saying that we shouldn't ignore it and try to correct it now, but he needs to get comfortable in order to progress and learn better mechanics. Constantly trying to dodge defenders is going to make him panic, not think about what he has been working on, and just try to get the ball out as quickly as possible (which at the time would be the way he has done it most of his life). Back to the backyard football style of play he was famous for when a play broke down. I didn't mean for it to come across as we simply ignore it until we fix the OL, but more of you won't see consistent better results in mechanics until we fix the OL if that makes sense? -

If you want his fundamentals corrected we have to fix the OL issues first. Otherwise he is running around trying to play "hero ball" and will immediately go back to his bad habits. -
100% no one even started to cover Tommy.

The said thing is we paid for Boze, paid for Corb, extended Moton for good money, spent a top 10 pick on Icky, and a 3rd on BC. This some how turned into one of the worst OLs I've seen. -

This staff is married to Young now. They need him to show something to protect their jobs. If they put in Dalton and he is an upgrade it still looks bad on their part. The best chance for any success out of them is for Bryce to some some progression and give the fans some hope. They are all in on him and it will probably last through next year.
-
I fully expect Young to add some bulk and zip to his passes this offseason similar to Burrow. However if we don't fix this OL and get him weapons it's not going to matter....
