We have to get some competent OGs around Young if we want him to get a consistent deep ball. What we have now makes it difficult to plant his feet (which he needs to do on deep passes) and launch it. Little guys need strong interior OL play, Brees always had great guards in front of him.

You don't think Young has shown progress each week?
-
I already know how this goes. I want to see a 20 yard out route because he can't throw it. Young throws it. I want to see him take a deep shot. Young does while getting hit and OVERTHROWS it. The response lol noodle arm can't throw it deep. Just wait when he connects it will be "about time" "only one" "that guy was wide open."

I'm calling bullshit. Sorry man. It looks and smells like a bait thread and it got you the stream of clicks/reactions you wanted. Including these from me. Good job. -

I want to know who in the world thought Bryce had an elite arm? Where did that come into play for that to even be in your mind?? Every scouting report called his arm average. They want him to become a smaller version of Burrow or Brees. Those are some comps I have seen. I guess they can't win in the NFL right? -

If he has an average arm and can make all the throws who knows where he will land. He is showing flashes with absolute poo around him. He was the top rated QB in this draft by most analysts so they are seeing some traits that will translate very well. Let's build a team around him and who is to say he won't become a top 10 QB. What makes Burrow elite? What made Manning elite? Brady? Brees? None of these guys hand cannons or were some crazy physical specimen of QBs. Give him some play makers and he will get them the ball accurately and on time. He was very clutch in college and hopefully that will carry over to this level as well in time. -

He wasn't worth the trade up. I never said he was. I think people see this value and are wanting an instant star. That was our GM being a dumb ass. That doesn't mean he can't become a solid QB for us. -

Everyone is saying his arm is average. People saying he can't throw a deep ball and calling him a noodle arm are the ones that people who call his arm average are arguing with. An average QB can throw a deep ball in the NFL. -

I'm so confused? Did you just make a giant troll thread for people looking at some potential in our starting QB?? I mean the guy who owns this site stated that Bryce Young is going to be good and made a thread on it, but we aren't allowed to talk about any signs of him looking good? No one is arguing that the state of the Panthers is terrible right now, just that Young could be a solid QB for us. To quote @Zod If you have watched a lot of football, it isn't hard to see that Bryce is a NFL caliber starting QB -
In order for you (well me) to really try to evaluate Young this year I had to accept 2 things. One we shouldn't have traded what we traded to draft him, and two Stroud was the better choice. Now all of that is a sunk cost and water under the bridge and I am looking at Young progressing to see if he can become our QB of the future, which to me he is showing some signs of life and progression. If we can walk away from this with Young developing into our franchise QB it would be a win at this point.

17:50 looks like that 20 yard out route people were wanting to see Young throw. The PA kept his OGs upright and he delivered right on the money.
-
I mean we can argue about his arm or actually watch the video where he attempts a long pass and see what happens. Young is also getting drilled in most of the plays. His durability doesn't appear to be an issue like many thought before the draft. *knock on wood*
-
So 14:50 is where he attempts he deep pass to Chark to those who are interested. He has to rush it because he OG is worthless and gets hit at the end of his motion. However it was an overthrow by about 4-5 yards. If he could have held it for one more split second it would have been nice. This tells me he is capable of hitting deep throws, he needs a decent interior OL to do it regularly, but the arm talent to get the ball there was fine just rushed it causing an overthrow.

I'm ok with Teddy for a rookie through the first 5 games, but he and our offense needs to progress past it. Let's hope Brown can get our whole offense more aggressive and Young some looks down the field for him to take.

Thomas Brown if he turns this offense around

To your point https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/what-will-the-panthers-offense-look-like-under-thomas-brown "I have a ton of respect for Sean McVay," said Brown. "He's one of the best and brightest minds I've ever been a part of but we are different. How we see the game and activate the game will be different, but I've definitely learned about how you attack defenses using formation variation, formation marriage, and motion adjustments so that'll continue to be a part of what we do moving forward. -

That only makes me feel better. He can draw up some of his plays for them during the bye week. The whole zone blocking OL is from the McVay tree though, which is something Brown would probably imitate. -

We definitely need an energy boost. Reich and Young are a bad pairing for that. If Brown can fire up Young and get our offense playing inspired football I’ll be intrigued. -

Brown apparently created the whole system with Reich. -

This is good news. Several feel like Reich preferred Carr or Stroud, so now we have an OC calling his plays with the QB he wanted. -
