  1. Yeah put him in a shitty spot in 3rd and long when the defense knows it's coming.
  2. @TheSpecialJuan returned from his vacation and has already claimed victory. We are all good here!
  3. Yeah that’s so dumb. Let Young throw all over the field and learn what he can/can’t throw in the NFL. It’s not like we are a playoff contender this year. open up that playbook and let him make some mistakes.
  4. I was Ben Johnson when he rejected us (embarrassing) I wanted Steichen. Ben Johnson with Stroud would have been a dream....
  5. https://atozsports.com/carolina/panthers-called-more-deep-throws-for-dalton-frank-reich-assures-no-slight-to-bryce-young/ I'm telling you all who keep asking "Why did Dalton have more deep passes???" That Reich was asked a very similar question. I think yes he probably has a different playbook for a veteran like Dalton vs a rookie like Young. Do I agree with it? Hell no. You have to call up some deep passes to open the playbook not 9 plus WR screens. It's just hard to fault the rookie QB for the play designs/game plan for that week. If I had to guess Reich was playing with "house money" when Dalton was in and wasn't as concerned about "protecting the rookie," but that's not really doing Young and favors as far as developing him goes. "I probably called a few more," Reich admitted. "And there were one or two things that Andy specifically asked for, which I don’t wanna go into detail on. But there were a couple of things that he specifically asked for.”
  6. It's a double edged sword because you also need the OL to block in order for a deep route to even develop. I agree 100% though we have to test the defense and get the out of the box.
  7. It’s because Dalton literally told Frank to call more deep passes. Reich has even admitted this. The 10 plus year vet had to tell him hey coach let’s try a couple deep shots.
  8. It’s like yeah he connected with like 2-3 deep passes out of 58. Like you stated his average was on par with much more attempts. Our offense did score a lot better though.
  9. I'm legit trying to think of his deep throws. Week 1 he had two, one was an overthrow (100% on him) and 2 was TMJ quitting on his route (not really his fault, but inconclusive). I know last week he had one and he was hit as he threw it. So yeah he hasn't been accurate on those 3 passes, 1 due to getting hit (bad OL), 1 on his WR not finishing his route, and 3 on him overthrowing it. I can't think of many more if any deep attempts.
  10. You also said if Young’s OL holds over Stroud’s he would be racing Bijan for OROTY. So you have not have been too down on Young.
  11. A lot of heads will continue to be in the sand and this data is going to fall on stubborn deaf ears. I appreciate all the data you have compiled here and it really helps tell the whole story.
  12. Yeah I would prefer more than a 1st and VJ in return. We do need to flip Burns and get a first plus some back though.
  13. He will help. 2 solid WRs in AT and VJ plus Mingo developing is much better than what we have. I'm thinking it might be a mid/late conditional pick for VJ if we do that. Maybe a 4th/5th that can become a 3rd/4th based on performance?
  14. Jefferson could be had for pretty cheap I'd imagine especially with Kupp coming back and their rookie playing go great. He is definitely not a WR1, but he is a capable WR that can help take some pressure off AT. Roll with VJ, AT, and Mingo this year while making a push for Higgins in the offseason would work for me.
  15. Yep it allows smaller franchises like ours to be competitive. Burrow (aside from this year) really helped a struggling small franchise. Not to mention there are only so many big markets available. Go ahead and mark Miami and San Fran off that list because they don't need him so basically he is an unproven player that will only play for 3 teams. What happens when 2nd round and later round picks start doing this too? It's also going to be extra embarrassing when a player does this and struggles.
  16. The Caleb thing doesn’t really bother me. We were there and passed on Stroud could be what hurts the most. If Stroud turns out to be the next guy that hurts way more than missing on the Caleb sweepstakes because who knows what our record would be if we waited one more year for a QB. Too many variables to say we would be picking 1 and miss Caleb. We might have missed on a great one with the pick in our hands. Time will tell.
  17. Some great points in this thread. Young didn’t see an open WR and he isn’t as good as Mahomes after 3 games. Good informative info. Let me take a while to digest all of this…
  18. They have a good offense and Cousins is in his last year. It’s definitely the smallest market but he probably wants to throw go JJ and Addison. He could look good fast with those weapons kind of like Burrow and the Bengals.
  19. I saw one of the teams was rumored to be the Niners??? Really? Purdy hasn’t lost a game yet and Caleb is going to go in there and take his job as a rookie?
  20. You know there is a middle. I wanted Stroud, like Stroud, think he will be great and he is clearly showing he can read defenses just fine. I also can see it’s hard to get a good read on Young in this lack of running game, constant pressured OL, stagnant offense we have him in. He has a lot to prove no doubt. However Reich and his dream team weren’t nearly as prepared for a rookie QB as Fitt made it out to be.
  21. Lol ok yeah you really caught him with his foot in his mouth. Damn I’m sure he is real embarrassed…
  22. https://www.panthers.com/news/notebook-bryce-young-is-running-my-own-race You can like and cheer for both players. Hell they are friends and cheer for each other.
  23. That’s what he is saying. The Texans OC is legit. Ours isn’t allowed to call plays.
  24. How is this a foot in mouth? Basically said IF the test reflects QB play this year then the S2 would become a major draft component. It didn’t so it won’t.
