  1. What does a Dalton win get us? This year is about developing Young and a weak defense is a good game to start doing that. Let Brown get the running game corrected and let Young get some confidence if he is healthy.
  2. Continuing to throw picks to the tune of 4 in one game isn't good. You have to protect the ball also if you are wanting to win games. I like his attitude, but people can't hype that into a good thing.
  3. I'm just looking at the stats you posted. Stats without perspective don't tell the whole story. I think Howell will be fine, but just glancing at these stats it doesn't look that way.
  4. I think you can get a older vet from there like Z Smith for a decent price and a mid-level one while seeing if Barno, Haynes, or YGM can develop. 1st round goes to an offensive weapon. Late round add more OL depth. A FA LB or 2 is what we need also. We should have a decent amount of cap space (especially if we don't extend Burns).
  5. Interesting to se Mahomes and Hurts in the top 10, but I guess if you have time with the better OLs then you can take longer to throw it. Your boy Howell is challenging Jimmy G for the INT leader in the NFL.
  6. Barno, Johnson, Houston, YGM for the rest of the year plus Haynes when he returns. If YGM keeps looking better he might be a cheap extension for depth. Then yeah you look at an older vet pass rushers to hold down the spot or draft one in rounds 2-3. $30 million allocated to Burns would make it too hard to fill all of our holes and depth needed. If we can flip Burns we should have a lot of cap space to sign some decent FAs plus you get the first back plus a depth player and better pick in the draft.
  7. The Bengals can't afford him plus Burrow's health is questionable right now. They might not be in the playoff race if Burrow can't get healthy (you know since he tried playing through a calf injury). If we keep losing we need to be in sell mode with Burns being top of the list as he can get the best return and would cost the most money to extend. Not accepting the Rams deal sucks, but it can't be undone.
  8. Yeah a first (it will be a late first because only a contender would trade) middle pick (or swap later for early) and a depth player (who honestly would get playing time if you make it an Edge or LB or CB). That should be the minimum IMO, but hopefully something better. Getting back that 1st would be huge plus whatever else we can squeeze. We have to build around Bryce for the time being.
  9. It doesn't matter. That's a sunk cost at this point and making another mistake to make up for an old one is twice as bad. Our team is in no position to offer any player $30 million a year. We have holes and need depth.
  10. Vikings have a terrible defense and it's at home. We need Bryce to play this game and get some confidence. Hopefully he is healthy enough to play.
  11. Definitely see what you can get. A first plus some is what we should be seeking. If we can't get that wait until this offseason and try a tag and trade. Something similar to the Bradley Chubb deal who was also on the final year of his contract and was traded to Miami for a 1st, 4th, and RB in exchange for Chubb and a 5th. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34925836/sources-dolphins-trade-broncos-lb-bradley-chubb Brown is the one we need to extend. He should be cheaper and is a tough position to replace. I also think he is more important to our defense.
  12. He has to let Brown do his job. He is one of the bright young offensive minds that are taking over this league. Let's see what he can do.
  13. I won't argue with any of that. Lack of play makers, lack of depth, now add the injuries, and to top it all off you have Reich who wants to put his stamp on the offense instead of letting Brown create a better run first offense for Young to develop under. I think we see eye to eye on this. I think being down Shaw, Luvu, Horn, and Woods is going to make things tougher for Young. Offenses are going to start exploiting our lack of depth and injuries as Seattle did and make it where we are playing from behind.
  14. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38463483/nfl-week-3-injuries-rookie-qbs-young-richardson-out Sprain 1-2 weeks. Whoops! I mean a "sprain" because Reich is pissed at Tepper's wife for forcing him to draft Young over Stroud and will now make him fake injuries so he can so how good of a coach he is with Andy Dalton.
  15. Yes that would make more sense, but the other thing isn't happening so there is that.
  16. Here come the Huddle overreactions! He got counseling before??? OMG is he mentally equipped to be in the NFL? He is going to be hyper aware of his mental well being seeing how his dad helps people with that professionally. Being an advocate for it and being open about his experience with it is a good thing.
  17. We need Corbett back and to let Brown call plays. The former running game coordinator and assistant coach for McVay. Our running game is currently our weakness, let Brown do his thing.
  18. If they lost that game and picked first they would have just selected their top choice right? Must not have been Stroud as leaked by several different journalist.
  19. No way a team that drafted another QB preferred Young???? These posters are going to spin this and jump through so many hoops to try to deny it.
  20. Yeah there are 32 teams. He listed 3 that wanted to trade up to 1 for Young. Panthers, Raiders, and Texans. Any of the other teams could have him off their board. I don't know what you are so defensive about this? These aren't 3 well ran franchises anyway....
  21. They didn't want to give up what we did for him. Young was their top choice. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/04/25/2023-nfl-draft-panthers-texans-raiders-favorite-bryce-young/ Adam Shefter confirmed the Texans were very close to trading up to 1 in order to land Young vs any other QB. That's how much they preferred him. Raiders wanted him as well and inquired about trading up.
  22. Before the seasons started we stated it was going to start of rough but hopefully by the end of the year look a lot better. Reich has said multiple times that this year is about developing Young. Even if we wanted to compete having Young play through an ankle injury isn't smart. Look at the issues Burrow is having because they played him through a calf injury.
  23. It was leaked that Houston wanted him. We now have Houston players saying they are glad they won that meaningless game and didn't get the first pick because that's how they got Stroud.
