  1. He has a ways to go but his ceiling is pretty high. Potentially he can become a taller Rudy Gobert with some ball skills and a 3 point shot. That’s typically a number 1 pick in most drafts. Scoot is already hurt and was 5/13 which isn’t exactly crushing it. Scoot and Amen we’re the top 2 G League players so it’s some what expected they would look the best in the summer league early. Yao Ming was over 300 pounds which is a lot harder on the body. I’m sure he will still have plenty of injuries but his ceiling is still high. If they could redo the draft tomorrow the Spurs would still take Wemby.
  2. Wemby showed better vision that I thought with some nice passes and of course he already is a great shot blocker. Once he gets his 3 point shot down he will be a solid player IMO. Maybe not a generational talent but I think he was justifiably the right pick at 1.
  3. Bouknight is a waste and Nick Smith has to learn to pass and slow down a bit. Nnaji looks like a good project big man for us.
  4. I wouldn’t say Scoot’s 5-13 with the offense flowing through him was much better than Miller’s 5-15 plus 11 rebounds going against the top pick in the draft. Both had not too great of nights shooting but still remained affective.
  5. Miller had a nice stand against Wemby. When his energy is up he looks the part.
  6. Miller needs to keep moving like Klay Thompson. He started off decent but is starting to stand in the corner now on several offensive plays…
  7. Kai brings good energy definitely. He needs some sort of offensive game…
  8. This offense is not functional. They just stand around and chunk up contested shots…
  9. @jayboogieman This is what I was talking about with mono affecting his play. He may be healthy, but still trying to get his energy back. It might also just be wishful thinking, but you are right about him needing to be aggressive.
  10. Agree 100%. It’s very early, but that’s a fair and factual statement. I hoping he is still off from losing all that weight from mono, but that can’t be all of the blame.
  11. The full article basically says what @CamWhoaaCamwas saying in let’s see how Miller does with a real PG in Melo and a real threat in Rozier. If he is struggling this bad in March then we should have some concern.
  12. https://www.si.com/nba/hornets/news/why-you-shouldnt-be-concerned-with-brandon-miller-yet
  13. It was majority Stroud. I preferred him as well, but Young wasn’t far behind. I’m all in on him now since our staff is sold on him.
  14. If I remember correctly he is the one a lot of fans wanted…
  15. I’d be ok with Scoot or Miller. It was a 3 player draft IMO and we missed the top pick. Miller made the most sense, but both Miller and Scoot are high ceiling young prospects. I mean Scoot went from 14 points to 16 points per game in the G League so I’d be surprised if he is an All Star his rookie year. His ceiling/skillset makes him an attractive top pick, but Miller is as well. Both players need a decent staff to help develop them.
  16. He was drafted where he was projected to go by many. We need to hire a decent HC and staff to help develop him and many of our other young players. We can’t buy a roster in Charlotte so we need to develop one. Crying about a 19 year old draft pick over 2 summer league games is just premature any way you dice it. Admitting this doesn’t mean someone is following the blind, it’s just logic.
  17. He was the best player in the NCAA. You act like that SC game was it only good one. He helped Alabama get the top ranking before his injury. People need to stop overreacting about Summer League. Guess what? He might struggle as a 19 year old rookie and that’s ok and some what expected.
  18. Pad the box score in a summer league game? Lol. These guys are playing for spots they don’t care what the score is or what quarter it is.
  19. I wouldn’t look too much into it. Scoot is going to be the PG so he will get way more touches. Miller’s PGs weren’t a fan of passing.
  20. This needs to happen followed by Rozier being traded for more depth. A young core of Melo, Miller, and Williams could develop nicely with Grant Williams helping set the tone. Melo, Melo, G Williams, Bridges, and Williams could be a decent starting lineup with Hayward playing the 6th man role.
  21. We need to put him there and we would have one of the tallest backcourts in the league. My main question is can he lock down other SGs? I think he can play good defense against SFs, but SGs seem like a pain the guard.
