  1. Same. We can get a great WR or TE at 39. I wouldn’t be surprised if we go after a FA TE now though.
  2. I doubt it his rookie year, but he could have us competitive and if he is the answer to our QB problems who cares about the picks we lost?
  3. Do you think Burns is as untouchable as people on here are thinking, or could he be included in a trade up?
  4. Burrow tore his ACL is rookie year so and they finished with a high pick selected Chase. I would argue that we have a better roster than Burrow's rookie year Bengals. It's because we are trading up to acquire the top pick while the Bengals "earned" the top pick that year. Mac Jones was 10-7 in 21 for the Pats and not many rookies started in 2022. The Dolphins won 10 Tua's rookie year, but I think he only played in 10 of those games.
  5. Evero said one of our top defensive players "among others" is a reason he took the job. I mean that makes sense, but I seriously doubt he was promised Burns would be here for the long haul... If we already had Burns' contract laid out that would be a different story. Evero would still have Horn, Chinn, Brown and many of the "others" on that young defense. Plus he will be involved in free agency and replacing a player like Burns if he is traded. Which was equated to Teddy, Sam, and Baker all failing. Teddy wasting money, Sam wasting money and picks. Fitt has said multiple times that draft your QB is the ideal way to do it. One could argue Rhule refusing to draft a QB early is what cost him his position ultimately. Burrow was drafted, Allen was drafted (traded up), Mahomes drafted (traded up), Herbert drafted it's how teams acquire young QBs. Rams traded for Stafford and I get they won it all, but now are interested in trading him, Broncos traded for Russ and we see how that went, Geno was a nice pick up for Seattle but they are still looking at QBs in the draft and have his contract structured where they can ditch him after this year. We can keep trying to "think outside the box" or take on other team's castoffs but at the end of the day you have to eventually draft your QB. We did it in 2011 and it worked very good, let's do it again.
  6. If we get the QB right we should have some actual cap space in 24 to offset the lost of our top pick. We have a great staff, usually when you add a good QB good things happen.
  7. Depends on our schedule and how quickly Reich and co can have our QB ready. If we get Bozeman back there is no doubt we can "run" over bad teams like we did with Wilks. We were what 6-6 with Wilks bringing it back to basics? In theory we should be better than Wilks/Darnold with Reich/Stroud. I understand it may take a minute for the rookie to get up to NFL speed, but if Stroud or whoever it is looks the part we won't be concerned with our first round pick next year.
  8. and half of the Huddle acts like we mortgaged our future for a top QB in Corral. It was a future 3rd and he immediately got hurt. I'd prefer to keep him on the roster, but if there is no room I won't lose any sleep over trading him away for pennies. New staff wants their guys at the most important position.
  9. Tepper has nothing to do with it. Corral was drafted by Rhule and his staff in the 3rd round. We have a new staff now that wants their guy. This kind of stuff happens all the time. O'Connell cut Mond who was a 2nd round pick the year before he was hired. Tepper is letting the football guys make football decisions. Do you really think Tepper is calling down to Fitt and wanting a 3rd round IR rookie traded away??? The Cards spent a first on Rosen then hired a new coach who drafted Murray with the top pick the very next year. I'm not saying this will happen, but if it does it's not that big of a deal. You are obviously extremely bias as you are an Ole Miss fan.
  10. The man has some wheels on him! Also resign Bozeman and get Levis/AR behind him for a QB sneak on 4th and 1 and it's an almost certain 1st down.
  11. It's not criticism though. It's nothing he is doing wrong. It is more of an unknown like you have already stated. Honestly though I have seen him make plenty of tough throws in tight windows. I know he had a great WR in Harrison Jr, but Stroud got plenty of other playmakers involved and many of those BIG10 defenses had NFL talent at the CB position. He also really didn't have a drop off when he played against UGA's defense.
  12. One of my favorite criticisms is "Stroud throws to open WRs." Umm that's what he is suppose to do???
  13. The question is WHY is he holding the ball too long. Is he not reading the defense or is he dodging pressure or no one is getting separation or did the OC call a long developing play. That’s up to our staff to figure out.
  14. Yeah he was seriously limited last year by injuries. People who only started watching him then are seeing only a fraction of what he can do. It’s like two categories of top QBs in the draft. Stroud/Young are polished passers who will have to learn to do more with less in the NFL. Young has been better at handling pressure, but size is a concern. Levid/AR are needing some work as passers but have huge ceilings based on their raw athletic ability. Levis is the more polished passer with a higher floor while AR has the higher ceiling. Id be happy with any of them honestly.
  15. Agreed. The Niners went all in on Lance to get away from Jimmy G. That should be a red flag.
  16. Our staff seems to be dialed in on this class and look to be playing the draft route. I guess we will find out in these next few months.
