This seems ironic. You have referred to Lance as a bust and are high on Corral?? Maybe you should practice what you preach. I haven't seen many posters declare Corral (a 3rd round pick) a bust. I have seen them state the odds are against him at getting significant playing time in Carolina with a new HC coming in a Corral being on IR last year with little capital invested in him.

It's a saying that means betting the future. You are not ABSOLUTELY correct, you just have a different opinion of what that means. The Browns still have cap space and some picks so they didn't risk "everything" to acquire Watson as that is completely unrealistic. Many analysts were saying the Niners "bet the farm" to acquire Lance which was 3 first rounds picks. Stop arguing about a simple saying a poster used that means they wagered a lot of future assets.

He is the most polished prospect by far. The height is the only weakness I see.
-
Plus Tepper is dying to get a QB. He will sign off on most trades to acquire one IMO.
-
Well the Browns offer was what? 3 first round pick? We know this now and we know our package was considered the better package. Connecting the dots tells me we were giving away quite a bit for Watson to come to Carolina. Trading the farm is pretty much an opinion statement so that can be interpreted differently by different people. I know current rules don’t let teams trade beyond 3 years worth of picks.

Yeah it will be a new HC/staff with Fitt handling the draft. No one knows what will happen despite what they think…
-
They definitely sent a trade package Houston’s way which was considered the best offer at the time. They didn’t want to guarantee all of that money though which is why Watson picked the Browns.
-
The Lions drafted him. Vikings traded a 2nd and 3rd for him since Cousins is locked in at QB.
-
My hope a team falls in love with Levis and drafts him at one or two and we can possibly swap with Arizona at 3 for Stroud. It also works if Chicago stays put drafts DL and Houston drafts Young. From 9 to 3 wouldn't break us as much as 9 to 1 IMO.

I think you can dismiss it and get like one article a day. It basically states Fitt is well respected around the league and easy to work it which is why we are able to land so many interviews.

Panthers receive permission to interview Sean Payton

Yeah not interested. I was reading where we are able to get so many interviews because Fitt is considered easy to work with and well liked around the league. Full control plus loss of picks for a HC that knows he can step away whenever he wants and have a nice salary as an analyst just sounds like a terrible move. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article271149142.html -
What if Stroud doesn’t declare for draft…

Sam Howell and Spencer Rattler were considered top picks before their last seasons (yeah Rattler is still in college, but his value has dropped like crazy). Jake Locker was considered the top pick as well. Van Dyke in Miami looked like the real deal before this past season. One season can change a lot. It’s probably more rare for a QB with a loaded roster like OSU to drop, but it can happen. A major injury for example could do it. -
Yeah they treated a future third (which doesn’t hold the same present value as a current 3rd) and that late 4th pick. That doesn’t seem like much value for a potential starting QB. We were “interested” when he fell in the 2nd, but still didn’t want to give up more than a future third.

A mid 3rd round pick for a solid backup isn’t a wasted pick. Hell several of these playoff teams have leaned on their backup QBs to get here.
-
They didn’t go into the season banking on Purdy to be their QB. He was the THIRD option. No one is saying cut Corral, just that he shouldn’t be our top or main option at QB. We need to draft one and sign a vet. If Corral works out it’s a nice bonus.
-
It looked like other players were past the sticks. He just checked down to play it safe…
-
Did Cousins check down on 4th and 8??
-
WTF are pass rushers suppose to do now?
-
There are very few QBs I would trade multiple first round picks for AND sign them to a 250 million GUARANTEED contract. Lamar (as good as he is) is not one of them...
-
He would have them fired up against us though….
-
I wonder if they make a play for Wilks at DC if we don’t hire him…
-
I wouldn’t be surprised either way. Johnson has no ties to Sam and Sudfeld would know his offense/how he wants to run things more than any QB not named Goff. Plus he will be pretty cheap…
