It was hike the ball and AR buys as much time as he can while they try to get open and then they either drop it or run the wrong route. They went pretty run heavy later because their WRs (who weren't great to begin with) were injured. Their offense excelled when AR could run and make defenses account for his running, bringing them off the WRs. They didn't let him run that much thought because he was banged up and according to @Varking they didn't have much behind AR... Just check out the Utah game when the team was healthy and AR was able to play his style of offense. He was uncontainable....

Yeah we need someone to start diving in on the draft and decide who our next QB will be. Johnson works for me if he is the guy.

The only bad thing I can see is waiting that long to draft a player and hoping he is still there, especially one playing the most premium position there is. It just takes one team to ruin that after many picks of waiting. I wouldn’t be against taking a QB at 9 then Hooker again in the 4th if he is still there. Throw him on IR and you’ve just increased your chances of getting it right. Even if he develops into a solid backup that’s a pick well spent.

It’s the style of play he wants. Wilks is a great leader, but he likes the Fox/Rivera run the ball and lean on your defense (which makes sense since that’s his specialty). He has shown a play not to lose/conservative style which I’m not a fan of. If he can bring a great OC with him then I’m ok with it. I just don’t know if we could retain a great OC.

This is from December 21 where they were cracking the top 10, but the following week Fields took 12 hits (6 were sacks) and PFF put no blame on Fields for any of the hits/sacks. Considering how few times he passes in that offense getting hit 12 times and sacked 6 should have had them drop in their rankings, but apparently it didn't? Makes me wonder if it's something like blown assignments or defenses sending more players than we have blockers. OL also ranks is a top need for them in the offseason, which wouldn't make sense if they were a true top 10. I don’t think I want anyone from the Bill Belichick tree. Ryan seems like the best option for the defensive guys, but if you are going that route it will be hard to pass up Wilks. I still think we are getting an offensive guy. Veteran options Reich or Caldwell and upcoming new options Johnson and Eagles OC.

I agree 100%. Moving from 9 to 3 shouldn’t break the bank and Arizona doesn’t need a QB. I saw where AZ is trying to move DHop, makes we wonder if we could work him into the trade. Probably overpriced, but something to think about…

I heard Stroud doesn’t know how to read a defense and hates the game of football. I’m hitting up Twitter with this news.

Sounds great to me, but Stroud realistically could be gone by then. I’m not sure if we should move up for Levis or just let AR fall to us?

You should really look at Fields college numbers. That Clemson game where the LB tried to take him out and he played injured and "willed" them to a win against Lawrence and Clemson showed me he was in a top tier for college QBs. I admit he still has work to do as a passer in the NFL, but you also have to give the man some credit. He didn't land in an ideal landing spot and these analysts have still taken some notice in his development (though it's far from a finished product). If we could have him for our 9th I wouldn't think twice about making that trade.

Fant and Engram were 1st round redrafts? Must have been later in the first and not top 10. If we trade down I'm ok with Mayer depending on how far down we are. Mayer in the top 10 seems was overvalued IMO.

Yeah his former first round LT got injured early, his promising 2nd round rookie RB got injured, and his number 2 overall pick QB that he didn't pick turned out to be a potential bust.... Most of that is out of his control.

Before I have Mrs Tepper sign off on this candidate I have one question. Exactly HOW great is his wife's meat loaf??? Inquisitive minds want to know.

Unless they significantly upgrade their OL, Fields is their best option. Young will get injured behind that OL, Levis will throw picks, and Stroud needs a pocket to get into rhythm.

That's a fair point and simply making this roster better by adding Mayer/DE/WR with our top top plus filling other needs in the following rounds will probably just leave us picking even later next season and cost a lot more to move up and draft a QB. I'm pretty sure one of the big 4 (Young, Stroud, Levis, AR) will be there at 9, if they start going quicker then try to trade up and draft one. If that picks busts try it again in a year or two.

Serious question, is the QB coach for Mahomes a good thing? I get he is the best QB in the league and came in pretty raw. However much of what Mahomes does on the fields isn’t technically sound, it’s not what your typical NFL QB should/could do. It looks like Mahomes is playing backyard football sometimes, but he can pull it off because he is one of the best if not the best QBs from a talent view as well…

We also aren’t going to have a compete roster with nice depth. Very few teams in the NFL do…

If you think we can't manipulate the cap enough to extend a center and sign a backup QB to a cheap one year deal, I really don't know what to tell you.... Burns "restructured" probably should have been extended (which can you backload if needed), but I think you are getting a little picky over a pretty calm logical post. Your main concern was "with what money?" which can easily be worked out. Fitt already said he is interested in extending Bozeman which was the only possible pricey thing mentioned (depending on how you work the contract is might be relatively cheap this year as well).
