Anthony Richardson declares for the draft
ForJimmy replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
You are struggling here. Implying Florida can’t produce QBs and writing off a player over his school is pure ignorance as the same could have been said about any of those players on that list… -

None of those are on my list? My list shows 12 solid QBs who had no previous success from their college programs at producing QBs. It’s why you don’t use the school to decide the player. Lol imagine if the Bengals passed on Burrow because he went to the same college as Russell or if the Colts didn’t pick Manning because he played at UT. Thank goodness people with your evaluation skills weren’t working for them! -

Oh yeah he had someone start over him last year. That’s not super unusual. Mac Jones only played a year, Burrow was only 2. I thought you were saying he was a converted player learning the position or something like Tannehill was. -

Huh? He played High School football as QB played his sophomore year in 2017 through his senior year. 2019 Elite 11 finalist… Finished his four-year varsity career at Eastside with 4,633 passing yards and 37 touchdowns, along with 1,633 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns… Led Eastside to a 7-4 record and a berth in the FHSAA Class 5A State Playoffs in 2018… Before his senior season ended due to injury, he threw for 1,398 yards and eight touchdowns (with just one interception), and had seven rushing touchdowns… As a junior in 2018, he threw for 1,567 yards and 17 touchdowns, and ran for 924 yards and 16 touchdowns… Scored 13 rushing touchdowns and threw for another 10 as a sophomore in 2017… Also played varsity basketball at Eastside in 2017-18 and 2018-19, averaging 10.5 points (with a 53 percent field goal percentage) and 7.5 rebounds per game as a junior… Featured on the Netflix series “QB1: Beyond The Lights” this past fall. https://floridagators.com/sports/football/roster/anthony--richardson/15233 -

There is a MUCH greater chance that you are absolutely wrong. So let's just play these made up odds! -

Harbaugh helped Colin K a lot and the Eagles have done wonders for Hurts. Maybe a similar system could help him develop? -

Brissett has been serviceable. This is a fun game though, your turn. 1. Oregon before Herbert 2. LSU before Burrow 3. Tennessee before Manning 4. Auburn before Cam 5. Texas Tech before Mahomes 6. Cal before Rodgers 7. UGA before Stafford 8. Boston College before Ryan 9. Purdue before Brees 10. Wyoming before Allen 11. Mississippi St before Prescott 12. Clemson before Watson -
Rams will just to troll.

Yes, Florida had less talent on offense than Ole Miss and a much worse coach. They were trotting LA Lafayette transfers as their top options. Does LA Lafayette have more talent than Ole Miss? -

What about Eagles OC or Jim Harbaugh? -

With Rivera or Rhule yeah I agree. That's why we need a coach that puts a priority on the offense if we are looking at drafting a QB. It's why Wilks isn't the guy IMO. -

What about the Josh Allen that lost to San Jose St, Fresno St, Boise St, and Iowa (where they only scored 3 points)? Would you have been ok with him? -

If we have the right HC I will be very intrigued with AR. Wilks would be an example of a HC to NOT draft AR with. We would need some weapons as well. Diggs did wonders for Allen's development. -
I feel like QB pressure rate would make more sense. I've seen Richardson, Nix, Young, and several of the quicker QBs avoid the sack and extend the play with their legs and to me that has nothing to do with the OL.

He probably won't perform well right away unless we use a simplified offense and become a power running team kind of like the Eagles did/are doing for Hurts early on. I think the thought is there is a big talent game from his the talent around him in Florida (this year) and his opponents in the SEC. So (in theory) s the talent gap shouldn't be as big in the NFL. -

Nah man, Darnold is taking us to the Super Bowl and getting an extension remember??? -
Correct answer! Close the thread.

I will say that our OL started off pretty bad this year during Baker's first couple games. Week 1 Garrett crushed Icky (and rightfully so, as it was his first start and Garrett is an All-Pro). Darnold also has a full game with our OL at its peak. When you are looking at the 5 most recent games it probably evens up a little more that I realized. You are right thought it's cherry picking to skew the data only using only the last 5.

Kind of a classy move by Wilks/Fitts if you ask me. Baker wasn’t getting anymore snaps and requested a release, so they gave it to him.
-
Definitely prevents it from becoming a 4th round pick. Sounds good to me!
-
I think drafting AR would depend on if we hire the right coach. Eagles OC, or Harbaugh would increase the odds of him developing. Definitely pass on him if we keep Wilks. The Eagles OC has Hurts throwing 68% with 20 TDs and 3 INTS from 52% 6 and 4 just 2 seasons ago. Harbaugh of course had Colin K playing at a much better level.

Catcrave 4 QBs if panthers drop out of top 10

That’s a bold move considering his injury history…
