  1. Tepper may think the roster is good (I think it’s PR talk), but if YOU chose to believe it you are believing the man that thought Rhule was a good coach. Also that wanted to trade the farm for Watson. So you keep believing him, but I’m going to remain skeptical… You are doing the same exact thing and don’t even realize it. You credited Fitt for the OL but he doesn’t have roster control right?? So good job Rhule fixing the OL? If Fitt wasn’t responsible for any roster moves which I highly doubt, was he also no in charge of contracts? Is our salary cap mess not his fault either? My whole point is Fitt can’t avoid responsibility completely for the situation we are in. He either did absolutely nothing and hasn’t proven anything or he had involvement and is partially responsible for the mess we are in. Either way he isn’t “owed” the job…
  2. Of course Tepper is going to dress it up for us fans. What do you want him to say? It’s awful we are terrible. We haven’t won’t more than 5 games with Fitt’s roster and our cap is terrible next year. I do find it funny you are using Tepper’s words stating we have got better, while also mentioning he isn’t viewed well around the league. Strickly from a GM a standpoint we have a bottom tier roster in which it has been reported our interm coach said (behind close doors) some players don’t belong in the NFL. We still are missing the most important position in QB. Our cap situation is one of the worst next year and you think it would be unfair to fire the GM? If you can’t blame him for the roster or cap situation he really hasn’t done poo at all then. Drafting 1st with no cap space usually means the GM and coach didn’t do their jobs well…
  3. Well he has been the GM of a failing franchise. You call that good performance? We may give him another chance with a new coach, but what has he done so far that has impressed you? So you are taking one comment and using it as a league wide view? How did you get there and why would Fitt be ok with working under such a bad person??
  4. This seems overblown. If Tepper is viewed so poorly by the league, why is Fitt still working for him? It’s because he wants to be a GM like many of these professionals do. Its not screwing over someone to let someone go for poor job performance. Fitt had some responsibilities and has to take some blame for the state of the franchise. Plenty of coaches/ assistants around the league are friends but that doesn’t mean they refuse jobs over one getting fired. I’ve never heard of a coach or GM turn down a job because their friend was fired by the owner in the NFL. It’s a business and I can’t imagine one of them turning down an opportunity because their friend was fired for job performance.
  5. It absolutely matters who did what. If he botched what little power he had then why in the world would we give him more??? That's like an assistant coach drawing up terrible plays but still wanting the promotion because it wasn't fair he didn't have full control. Depending on who we hire he still may not have full control. That doesn't mean we can't ever fire the guy and we have to give him the job if the next coach gets fired. I don't think Morgan is sentimentally attached to the Panther's job. I think he wouldn't turn down ANY GM promotion job because his friend was fired from the organization especially one that he has some ties to already. He was going to leave his buddy Fitt to become the GM for the Steelers if they offered it to him because he wants to be a GM. If they want to start new and interview several candidates for the GM job and the committee, Tepper, or whoever he has sit in on these interview likes Morgan the best then it's his job IMO. I don't think it will be him or that we will even fire Fitt, but thinking he won't take a job because his friend got let go from the organization was silly. Especially given how bad we were these past 3 years. No one's job should be safe fair or not.
  6. How is it unfairly? You are assuming Rhule was the driving force behind some of these bad trades, contracts etc. We have no idea, but I am sure Tepper knows. Do we know for sure Rhule wanted Darnold and was the main person that got him extended before the season started? Was it Rhule that traded away a 3rd for Henderson or signed Thomas and Anderson to those terrible contracts? Was it Rhule that signed Erving and Elf to dumb contracts right away last offseason? I highly doubt Rhule was the one structuring those contracts and has our cap screwed up this offseason for a team that is possibly going to finish last. If that gets Fitt fired then I don't consider that "unfair." The process after that would be interviewing new candidates for the GM and if they give Morgan an interview you think he would turn into because they fired his friend? That doesn't make sense to me. So Dan Morgan wouldn't continue his career with the franchise that drafted him because the owner fired his friend which very well could be for a good reason? I'm not buying it.
  7. It's probably hard for us fans to know exactly what these assistants/scouts/staff members are doing behind the scenes. Well liked throughout the organization is a common phrase that was used for Beane and I would assume means he has done his job pretty well. It also speaks well for him that Beane wanted him on his staff pretty quickly when he went to Buffalo and Fitt wanted him back when he got the job here.
  8. He may have wanted too much control. Who knows? All I know is he had a good run when he was a head coach. I'm not wanting to give our new HC any roster control so that pretty much eliminates him anyway.
  9. I would say Fitt has been the GM and we really haven't "won" any of his trades. That could be more than enough reason to let him go despite experience. I'm not saying Morgan is the guy, but he is still a question mark and we may feel we already know what we have in Fitt and it hasn't been anything great.
  10. I WILL be surprised and fug off for telling me what to do.
  11. Yeah Singletary would be useless for us as he is a FA next season. Cook and their 1st is what I would want. Their 2nd is going to be a late 2nd so pretty much a 3rd for CMC, no thanks. RA I am ok with as long as it relieves some of his contract from us as well.
  12. That will put us in the Richardson range I believe...
  13. If he wanted Allen and is our HC next year there is a good chance we are drafting Richardson if we are in the right spot.
  14. CMC to Buffalo for their 1st and James Cook. I'll get on board.
  15. Same people crying Icky was a bust after a preseason game are the same people crying Horn was a bust after his injury. They did the same for Brown...
  16. It's a fairly deep class after the big 3.
  17. I believe he is older (25), runs a college offense, and is solid but not elite at one particular thing. He could be decent, but I wouldn’t think he would be a top 10 pick.
  18. With Miami forfeiting their pick it pretty much is 3 first round picks.
  19. What is the difference between Ron Rivera and Dan Quinn? Rivera's record as a HC 91-85-1 Quinn's record as a HC 43-42 I get he is a great DC, but so is Ron Rivera. Also Quinn had Kyle Shanahan as an OC while Ron was working with a bunch of JAGs or worse. Sign an OC and draft a young signal caller. We have the OL and a couple weapons on offense that could turn this thing around quickly. Dan Quinn is just a stepping stone of another 7 year plan...
