Running QBs don’t win Superb Owls
ForJimmy replied to Lets go get it Canes's topic in Carolina Panthers
Allen’s rushing yards are going up every year. He had over 750 rushing yards last year and they call running plays for him. Allen is a running QB, Hill isn’t a QB. Hill is a TE/HB/Gimmick player. -

OP has an account just created this month. At this point it’s clear he is strictly a troll account. -

Cam had Smith his rookie year after taking over a team that finished 1-15. He took a team with Philly Brown, Funchess, and Cotchery to the Super Bowl. I swear it’s like you don’t even watch the games. Metcalf wasn’t on the team when Russ won his. Doug Baldwin was his top guy. So Josh Allen will never win a Super Bowl? The Bills should just trade him right?? I’ll make it simple. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask?q=most+rushing+yards+by+a+quarterback+all-time Everyone can read the list of most rushing yards by a QB and see who has Super Bowls. -

I’m not sure you know what triggered means? Calling a statement dumb is far from it. I just gave you some data to show how dumb it was. -

They don't like mentioning Josh Allen either. It's like they are in denial.... Yeah Cam is the reason we lost the Super Bowl and Manning was the reason they won. Makes so much sense! -

It’s dumb how you pivot and define running QBs to fit a small scale. 4 of the top 11 QBs with the most rushing yards all time have rings. Period. So out of the top 11 QBs that have the most career rushing yards 36-37% won a Super Bowl. Here is a dumb blanket statement for you. Based on history, pocket QBs have a higher chance of busting than QBs that can run. -
He could be, but he is still pretty young. Cousins is getting up there in age. Keep in mind the Cards were the worst team in the league when they drafted him.

Mahomes got shut down in the playoffs too and has probably missed 3 games in 3 years. The playoffs are tough. He is a young QB who was new in the playoffs, give the man some time. I’m not writing off a young QB who was in the MVP race as injury prone or overrated after one playoff performance. That would be an overreaction IMO. If he struggles next season then I understand.

Such a dumb argument. Hill, RG3, The Golden Calf of Bristol are all busts that never made it as QBs in the NFL. Hill isn’t even a QB honestly… Should I make pocket QBs who have busted? Your list is just Cam, Lamar, Vick, and Murray. If you think Cam’s running ability is why we lost the Super Bowl you weren’t watching the game. Vick wasn’t developed by the Falcons leading to injuries and then the off fields issues messed his career up. Andy Reid coached him up in Philadelphia, but it was later in his career. Running QBs can be developed into Josh Allen, Steve Young, Elway, Rodgers type players than can beat you in the pocket or make you pay with their legs. The problem is teams seem hesitant to beef up the OL when they have QBs that can run like the Cards, Panthers with Cam, and Falcons. You have to build a team around any QB to win it all. The Bills are doing it right and will have as good a chance as anyone to win it all with a QB who can run and has running plays drawn up for him. -
3 games in 3 years isn’t injury prone. Burrow has missed more on average than Kyler. I don’t want Kyler because I don’t want to pay out these huge QB contracts. We aren’t ready yet for that…
-
Just leave Sam on the team and eat the salary. We need to own our mistake and not give away assets to move him. He can be our emergency QB.
-
Wilson’s was insane. He really makes it look effortless… If they can build a team around him NYJ might have something special.
-
What about a trade down then Howell?
-
Yeah that’s mostly mental. People calling Howell a Baker clone are referring to his physical ability. They seem like opposites mentally…
-
Then why laugh at the comment a smart team would draft Howell who you consider a “Baker clone?”
-
Use multiple firsts to gamble on a QB? We can just draft one at 6 this year.
-
What’s wrong with Baker physically?
-
What are we using the cap space for? Didn’t I read we have the most cap space right now in the NFL? We are going to give away a young player to free up Darnold’s money for what?
-
I don’t think it’s crazy. I said it’s not a terrible idea. I think we can assume Icky and Neal aren’t there at 6. If they are it definitely changes things depending on how high we are ranking Pickett/Willis/Howell. Cross is a solid prospect, but he has been ranged a bit by scouts/analysts. Most people think Pickett and Willis are first round talents (maybe not top 10), but if you are drafting a QB in the first they are projected to be your franchise’s QB going forward. So if Pickett is ranked 12th, but we take him at 6 because we need a QB and he fits the west coast style we are wanting to play that’s not really a reach to me. BPA is never going to be 100% pure because it would be foolish for a team to ignore weaknesses and draft players they don’t need because they are ranked higher. Also we may view Neal as a pure RT and he already have a great player there.
-
The Darnold trade was terrible and that should never be justification of why to make a trade. If anything it tells me we shouldn’t trade for other team’s castaways. I don’t want to trade anything for these QBs available by their teams. Just draft one like most teams do. We aren’t going to outsmart another organization and snag a franchise QB from them for cheap. The chances of that happened are slim and we got screwed last year trying to do just that. Just take your chances and draft one.
