  1. Still seems pretty raw, but has some talent. Backup/develop project us the right place for him.
  2. I mean the Texans are in a better spot than us… Mills looks better than any QB on our roster with room to grow/develop, their HC has them playing well, and they will be some draft capital for Watson…
  3. Exactly. If you don’t trust your HC to make these decisions, then get rid of him.
  4. Well I’m sure it was 3 assuming there is no meltdown. A meltdown was happening so he threw away his guy Brady to save himself that final year. That’s just my thought though, no source or anything.
  5. I mean the pieces possibly lined up for us already. We had Teddy (vet game manager) and a chance for Fields (super talented) or Mac (accurate/poise) and we went with a CB after trading away draft capital for a project QB. We should have Fields with some experience at this point (after learning behind Teddy) with the option to opt out of Teddy’s final year and looking at drafting OL with our 1st and 2nd round picks. Plus we would have another $18 million to spend on a top FA that Darnold is taking up.
  6. I think it’s still too early to tell. Depends on what he does after Rhule. He wasn’t the only owner high on Rhule and a lot of the analysts were happy about the hire. The whole roster control thing was stupid. Only one coach can handle that and he has earned it up in NE.
  7. Watson won’t come here, plus he brings a lot of bad PR (rightfully so) to a sinking ship. We are in an awkward spot for Howell unless we trade down.
  8. I hope it’s not 4 years. From what I read he was promised a 3 year minimum. Unless they show huge progress next year, I think it’s his final season.
  9. Not really. It’s something to attract a solid OC though. I don’t think we will extend them the following year unless they really turn the team around which will be very difficult with a shitty OL and Darnold…
  10. Tepper will bump their salary plus they know if Rhule fails again they are taking over mid season. If we get an OC with head coaching experience, I’ll feel a little better about next season. That’s a sign Tepper is making Rhule bring in outside help (which honestly makes no sense why we are keeping Rhule).
  11. Oakland, the city with the losing franchise, didn’t pay for a losing team’s new stadium dreams. So that really wasn’t a good example you used. It kind of proved the point you were arguing against. Now go carry around some old man’s golf clubs and try to brag about it.
  12. They moved to another city. LV wanted a NFL team and the 1-16 winning season team got shipped away.
  13. If he is here then of course I hope he turns it around, I just don’t see any signs of it. The OC, QB, and OL are all issues he caused. We will be in year 3 of a rebuild with a terrible line, no sign of a decent QB, and looking for a OC to come help a coach on the hot seat. Chinn is out of position, Brown regressed, we haven’t got a real look at Brown (OL), and a limited look at BC, TMJ can’t get on the field, and that’s just a few things. Give me some hope please?
  14. I mean you have to eventually draft one, but the most important thing outside of the QB would be the OL. Build up the OL while you try to develop your next QB then you sprinkle in weapons and defense IMO.
  15. I’ll never under moving such a promising young rookie to a new position. It’s not like we had a great talent at LB we were trying to get on the field with him…
  16. About Robinson? I don’t believe so. *I found it. I said he was more of a FS than SS because someone was comparing him to Franklin who is a SS and later said him getting cut with little competition didn’t look good. I you want to call that being a “hater” then sure.
  17. Willis would be interesting if we had a good staff around him and a vet QB to play until he is ready (similar to the Niners with Lance). Unfortunately we have neither. I think Pickett has the highest floor, but Howell and Strong have higher ceilings.
  18. Points surrendered per drive should be the best indicator. That put us at 12th which seems about right. They aren’t a dominate top 5 but leaning towards better than average. We spent an entire draft, plus the following 1st, plus Reddick, Gilmore, Bouye, Jones etc so it should be decent… we just completely ignored the offense and it shows.
  19. Yeah Strong has been solid for a minute now. His knee and mobility combined with lower competition would be the concerns I would have. If we could manage to somehow get a 2nd rounder and get him there with OL in the 1st I’ll be happy.
  20. The bad news is he will be coaching for his job, so he won’t play the younger guys who need developing. Players like Brown and Chinn will keep regressing and he will jack up our salary cap more and waste our top 10 pick on his guy this year.
  21. If BC is actually legit we can sign a G like Schreff in FA and grab another in the 4th/5th to compete with Brown. Then the question is do we draft a QB in the top 10 or not? If and it’s a huge IF we land the right one, this would make for a quicker turnaround. Maybe 2 years? It’s a lot of “ifs” and if Rhule is still here, he will ruin all of it…
  22. Yeah rolling with Sam again is just throwing away a season. Drafting one next year will still probably need a year to develop (so 3 years away from making any noise). I’m ok with a Mariotta (been mentioned a few times) coming in to compete with Sam and Cam as our jumbo package/3rd string providing we draft and sign OL like there is no tomorrow.
  23. Taylor has shown some promise as well at times. We should still have Bouye next year as a vet/nickel. I just wish we would let Chinn go back to LB and sign another safety.
