Two year Mariotta and he can mentor Bryce Young the following year.
-
I’m leaning towards him taking a OL at 6. It’s the least likely thing for him to ruin. Just do that and sign a Mitch or Mariotta to compete with Darnold. I hope Tepper has told him he can’t trade away future picks…
-
It’s just a scenario, I doubt it happens. If there is still a lot of talent at the position we are looking to draft we could try to trade down. I agree with what you are saying though. If we think (for example) Corral is a future star, we should just take him at 6 and not get cute. All I know is Rhule is more than likely going to mess it up…
-
It depends on how much of a drop off we see between them. If prospect 1 is close to the 5/6th option then we could trade down several spots if another team in high on one prospect.

True story. There are plenty that are heads and shoulder above our joke of a coach…

PS Tom Brady loves punting on 3rd down.

One play. Traded for Sam Darnold and immediately extended him to a 5th year, extended Robbie, signed Erving and Elf on day one of FA, refused to try BC at his natural position, cut Cam signed Teddy traded Teddy traded for Sam extended Sam and then signed Cam again all in 2 years. I wish the worst thing Rhule did was punt on 3rd down. Hell it would have probably been a good move because the offense can’t turn the ball over.

Culley isn’t worse than Rhule. He inherited a mess, his starting QB wouldn’t play while his replacement Taylor (immediately got hurt). He started a 3rd round rookie at QB while trying to manage the whole Watson situation and only finished with one less win than Rhule. He was 2-2 his last 4 games beating the Chargers and losing to the 1 seed AFC Titans by 3 points. Rhule was ending on one of the league’s longest losing streaking and going dominated by the Bucs his last game. Our team wasn’t even competitive at the end of the year. Culley > Rhule by a solid margin IMO. You could see the Texans improving and the Panthers falling apart…

Rhule set to appear on WFNZ Thursday morning

The big debate I remember was Fields vs Slater. Two critical positions with us picking in the top 10. I wanted Fields, and still think it was a better choice than Horn. Slater would have obviously been better as well… -
Willis has all the tools, just needs developing. Our staff can’t develop poo so I hope we don’t draft him and ruin him. If we go QB, we need a strong OC and a QB that pretty “pro ready” IMO. Zappe is interesting, wish we had our 2nd rounder which is almost a late first….

Burns is younger and cheaper. Unless we get a nice offer for him (1st plus) then we should roll with him.

Multiple analysts ridiculing Rhule's comments

I enjoy having all the info in one place. However, posting about a member’s post count every night is seeming a bit redundant. Then again your boy Tepper hasn’t been looking so great lately so you probably don’t have much more going on. Go rest up so the guys at the country club have someone to carry their poo around in the morning. -

But our defense would be as bad as our offense. We would allow 40 plus a game… -

We would be a top 5 offense in total yards, but average in points scored… -
On a side note I feel some of the positions can be filled pretty cheap. Move Chinn back to LB with Shaq where he thrived and let Kenny Robinson play FS with Franklin or Burris at SS. KR is really our best coverage FS and Chinn played better at LB. Have Nixon, Hoskins, and Roy battle it out for the other DT job next to Brown (I think Nixon has some potential). If we roll with BC, Brown, and Moton we need to keep them at their natural positions and stop shuffling around the OL. However, most importantly we need to take away Rhule’s roster control so he doesn’t ruin it for the next guy.

All makes sense. The worst part is, we don’t have many draft picks either… The Darnold move is just a complete cluster. We should have Fields or Mac right now (locked in a rookie contract) with and extra $18.5 million and all of our picks available to patch up our offensive line. If RA doesn’t bounce back we can cut him in 2023 with a 3.8 dead cap hit with a net increase of around 12 million so that one isn’t as crazy.

https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space/ Yeah it looks like we are in the middle of the NFL before any moves are made. The Saints and Packers are 60 million and 40 million over before any signings. Yikes! It also shows you how these guys are manipulating it. I’d expect a contract for a top OL for us to be loaded more on the 2nd year than the first, but a lot of these teams manage to push it down the road every year. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t won’t Rhule handling any long term contracts, but I wouldn’t stress too much about our cap. However, if we didn’t extend Sam and Robby, we would be sitting pretty this year and great the following…

Why Carolina is Already the Worst Team Entering 2022

I only see 2 big contracts Gilmore and Tomlinson. A journeyman QB shouldn’t cost that much, but there is going to be some cap movement whether we like it or not. Personally, Im for throwing money at a OL like Schreff or Tomlinson and rolling with Horn, CJ, Bouye, Taylor, Pride, and SOT at CBs (If we can get Gilmore on a cheap deal maybe, but not necessary). Let Reddick walk (Burns is similarly and it lets YGM get some much needed snaps). If we have a decent OC (doesn’t look like we will) I’m ok with drafting a QB if they feel there is one worth drafting. If not then draft the best OL and roll with BC, FA, draft pick, Brown, and Moton if possible assuming they can play their natural positions. If Mariotta or Mitch can be had for the right price, bring them in to compete with Sam. If not draft a late round QB to develop. The problem is most reasonable solutions aren’t going to see immediate results and Rhule needs immediate results so his process is going to be unreasonable… What are you thinking?
