  1. You are still giving up that current first to draft the player. For example Cam cost us the top pick in the draft. He wasn’t a free acquisition. That pick could have been used on a different player so it still was part of the acquisition cost. I get what you are saying though. The trade wasn’t 2 firsts. It was a swap plus next year’s first.
  2. I mean if the peak of his ability is top 5 in every stat plus the best record in the league for a franchise that hasn’t been good in a long time I’ll gladly take it? Also you could make the sane argument for Tua who you listed as better. Hell Brees, Manning, Warner, and Brady all worked in QB friendly offenses. If they are putting up numbers that are top of the league and winning then it’s hard to hold it against them. Someone mentioned consistency and that’s a solid argument against Goff. If he is still top of the league in stats and wins by year end then people need to give him some credit.
  3. I thought Goff was Stroud’s floor. (Last year’s Goff obviously)
  4. He stated his ceiling feels like what Jared Goff is “right now” and stated we need him to become a top 10 elite QB. I’d say current Goff is an elite top 10 QB. Do you not agree?
  5. You don't think current Goff is a top 10 QB in the league right now? He is in the top 5 in most statistics and has a NFL best record of 5-1. Which 10 do you have above him?
  6. https://thedraftnetwork.com/bryce-young-panthers-improvement-october/ Here is a good breakdown of some of the good things from that Miami game that show some progression in his game. Hopefully this continues and he keeps getting better each week.
  7. If Fitt can get 2 firsts for Burns, I’ll forgive him for passing on that Rams deal.
  8. You are right about the picks, but a first round pick holds value. Say we use it for a sign and trade for Higgins for example. The age thing is the biggest red flag. Like you stated I don't think he wants to play for a rebuilding team. If he was 5 plus years younger I would be all for it. The Dolphins as you stated were a lot more complete team than we are. Plugging in a vet elite WR put them over the edge.
  9. You have a lot of great points, but to me the picks make the most sense. Example we trade Burns to the Ravens for their 1st and 3rd possibly a low tier player as well. So now we have a first and third in the draft to build around Bryce plus the extra cap space we save by not having to pay the Adams contract which is $17 million next year then jumps to $35 million a year the next two years when he is 32/33 years old. You could add 3 solid players for that kind of money. So now you have 3 vet players to fill roster spots, plus a 1st, plus a 3rd (so 5 possible starters) vs Adams (who won't be happy hear if he isn't happy in LV).
  10. If we trade Burns it will probably for done draft picks IMO. We need that 1st rounder back plus some hopefully.
  11. But at what cost? 1st rounder which we don't have and a chunk of our salary cap in a roster full of holes. I'm not saying he wouldn't help us, but our resources are better spent on other resources.
  12. This. He is going to want to play for a contender at this point in his career. He isn't one to develop long term chemistry with Young and before long will be on the decline.
  13. For what it’s worth Aaron Rodgers said something similar on the McAfee Show. Young looks like the QB of the future for Carolina. He also said Burns was a great pass rusher to build around as well.
  14. I think they mean the actual word “poo” because it autocorrects from the s word when people post it here.
  15. Yeah if someone is dishing it out you can’t run to the mods when it comes back. That makes sense to me. Again I don’t understand the reporting unless it’s something ridiculous. If a poster is annoying enough the mods usually find them on their own from my experience.

  17. So the people getting reported aren’t reporting others? That kind of makes sense right? If someone is doing something wrong you wouldn’t think they would be the ones reporting others. For the record I’ve reported zero people on this site because it’s a message board and should be taken pretty lightly.
  18. It definitely applies to your reactions to anything good mentioned about a certain little QB. I mean you implied one guy was on meth… His opinion was most QBs need great weapons to succeed.
  19. To me it depends on what the different opinion is. If it's something overly exaggerated in an attempt to troll the other person then yeah I'm all for calling it out. If it's a normal differ of opinion then I'm ok with it. Making a crying laughing face and making a comment about "cope" would fall more into the troll category for me. Hell I've been guilty of similar troll attempts PLENTY of times, but yeah that's what derails these threads quickly. Different opinions are what make for good debates and keep boards like this going IMO. I miss the QB draft debates between Stroud, Young, AR, and even Levis because most of them had points and counterpoints which made things interesting.
  20. I'm not sure @TheCasillas is still around which is a shame. He was one of my favorite posters to read and provided a shitload of data and most importantly logic.
  21. I think scouts are over evaluating these "Mahomes" traits as in off balance throws and constantly looking for the big play. Honestly that might be a big reason why we picked Young over Stroud. Stroud was fundamentally sound and sat back delivering dimes quickly. Young was more exciting extending plays and throwing these off balance throws while avoiding defenders. One is a lot harder to replicate in the NFL vs the other...
  22. My experience has been like this. Oh well at least Young is starting to progress. He looked a lot better this past game. *references good play or good data* He still needs a better supporting cast. (I'm assuming this is a "safe place" always positive person "coping") LOL meth is one hell of a drug. Young's noodle can't even throw it 5 yards. He needs an elite team around him to even look decent. (Mean Girls Mafia)
