Bryce Young Film Breakdown Megathread
ForJimmy replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought you were team Stroud like a couple weeks ago? -
I'm just telling you what Fitt is probably thinking oh and he actually compared them. The second one is Reich talking about Fitt and the first one is Fitt himself. They are definitely using Russ's success to look at Young whether any of us agree with it or not. “Yes, it is a concern,” he said. “But look at Drew Brees, look at Russell Wilson. So, are there very many quarterbacks his size that are high, high picks? No, there are not. But, there are exceptions to that. And there’s good reason that there’s exception to that.” “It’s Scott Fitterer, it’s the GM, and he’s talking about Russell Wilson — who, by the way, I had a very high grade on. You don’t have to read anything into that, but I don’t mind telling you that I had a high grade on Russell Wilson. But don’t read anything into that, because I’m just saying that all these people putting this label on me that I only work with big quarterbacks. Don’t read anything into that.”

Both OGs are coming back from injuries and Corbett is gone after this year so it makes sense.

Person: Richardson still in the conversation...if we trade down

I could see that. -
https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2022/09/09/panthers-wr-torrey-smith-cam-newton-tj-watt-josh-allen/ You are correct.

Purdy had some bad games too. He was projected to go higher and kind of regressed his junior year I believe. I guess my question is if the S2 is the greatest test why wasn’t Iowa St winning more with him at QB? Why are people saying Fields struggles to read defense as he apparently aced it as well? It’s just another source of data to look at like the wonderlic test.

I think all 3 have the ability to pan out, but it really matter WHERE they land. I honestly think we are one of the better places for an early selected QB to land because.... 1) We were a 500 team once we fired Rhule and we traded UP for the top pick meaning we are a good step above the bottom teams. 2) We have a young solid OL to protect our rookie QB 3) We have a former QB offensive minded HC plus our staff in all in on supporting our QB 4) We have a talented DC with some talented players to work with on defense so we won't have to lean on our rookie QB too much 5) We should have a strong running game with Sanders and Chuba behind that power running OL For example I think any of the 3 have a lot better shot at becoming special if they are picked by us at 1 vs Houston at 2 -
So last year's highest score was the last pick in the draft? Meaning no one took it seriously? It seems like it's the new wonderlic test. I'm not sure there is ever going to be some magical test to show how successful a QB can be in the NFL.

Yeah I read that but he felt ok saying it was "bad." It's no big deal just found it odd. It's probably true or Stroud's camp would be all over it. Tepper also loves analytics which could explain all of the recent Young links to Carolina. It all makes sense.
-
I wonder why he said "bad" but not the score? I mean everyone pretty much assumes the worst now. I'm sure he is telling the truth, I just found that part odd. Plus if it was just a rumor you would think Stroud's agent would step in and release the real score at some point right?

Pick #39, don't hold your breath for a WR or TE

We are about to build a damn brick wall around Young. -
Albert Breer: Bryce Young scored 98 on his S2 teat

People can be satisfied with either choice. I prefer Stroud, but will be happy with Young or AR as well. All 3 have some nice traits to work with IMO. -

It’s lying season so who knows what he scored.
