Liberty QB Malik Willis met with the Panthers
ForJimmy replied to MechaZain's topic in Carolina Panthers
https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2022/02/16/espn-panthers-free-agent-commanders-brandon-scherff/ This would be a good start. Hell even Norwell would be a huge (pun intended) upgrade! Plus draft some big guys to compete with Brown in the 4th or later… This would all fall on hoping BC can hold down LT as well. -

Right? I don’t understand this logic. If we have Lance waiting to start this year, I’d be pumped! -

What makes you say that? They both have a ton of talent, but need coaching/developing like most young QBs do. -
Judging from Fitt's Comments, Reddick isn't coming back.

Reddick isn’t worth the amount of money he will make to our team at its current state. If we were a playoff team needing a piece or two then yeah throw some money at a pricey vet pass rusher. Burns is younger/cheaper. Let YGM have his shot at the other side let’s see how they do. Most of our FA money needs to be on OL anyway. -

Let’s judge QBs by their rookie years and let me know how that turns out… -
I think the thought process was he would step in for Horn who was hurt back when we were stupid and thought we had a playoff team. I can live with that for a 6th rounder. It also prevent him from going to Tampa which was worth it….

Well… you see… even though he has shown NO signs of it, IF he randomly lights it up and turns into the next Tony Gonzalez then we have him at a good price…

If we draft a QB, I want Carson Strong

Hopefully he can read defenses. -

Do you like Corral better than Strong, or just feel he has a higher floor due to competition? -

Jeremiah: Panthers "dead set" on drafting an offensive lineman
ForJimmy replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d prefer Cross out if the two. He is proven against top talent. -

Pro Day will give him more one on one time anyway.

Checking out that ST schedule for our next LS.

This is spot on to me. Too much power with no checks/balances. I really like what the Niners did with Lynch/Kyle (which still should only be used for a high profile candidate like Kyle was). The head coach from Baylor with little NFL experience should never start off with that kind of power and no checks/balances.

I love football and should never be on a NFL roster. I get he was in a mess in NYJ (not much better here no OL/terrible coach), and I was even ok with acquiring him. The 2nd rounder ruined the trade from a value standpoint. The worst part of the whole deal is they had no Plan B and extended him before the season started for a stupid amount of money. When Fields fail to 8, we should have drafted him and had a “open competition” at QB. Overvaluing him and going all in on him was all around terrible. We should be letting him walk at no cost right now and probably getting a comp pick for it.

BREAKING NEWS Deshaun Watson now willing to be traded to CAROLINA
ForJimmy replied to Woot's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is a between area from not wanting Watson and wanting better than Darnold/Jimmy G. I know there is no guarantee to draft one, but the is definitely no guarantee if we never try to draft one. Rather it’s this year or next we need to attempt to draft a young talent to become our franchise QB. Rather Watson’s charges get dropped/settled or not it’s still a mark on his character that will follow him around. 22 women is pretty tough to argue against. Negative PR will come with him along with losing all the assets it would take to land him. Salary cap is a whole other issue. It just makes no sense in the current state our team is. -
BREAKING NEWS Deshaun Watson now willing to be traded to CAROLINA

Will it make us better? Sure. But we are still many pieces away from being a constant playoff team. Also what we would be giving up for him would be as valuable as a top young QB on their eyes for the trade to work. Throw in the fact he might not even be allowed to play with the legal issues, it just makes no sense. -
Deshaun Watson said no thanks to Carolina Panthers
ForJimmy replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the NFL is just very fluid in general. Perhaps Watson was interested in playing for us last offseason. Most analysts were pretty high on Rhule still. After this season and the obvious make or break year coming up his opinion changed (and rightfully so). Draft predictions are also very fluid. The Niners probably liked Mac at first and Lance won them over with interviews and potential.
