  1. Colorado is about to have some NIL money to throw around next year. Their hype is getting more businesses interested which means more money and he is going to get a pretty loaded roster out of it. They are going to get a lot better next year IMO.
  2. I don’t think our team didn’t know what he weighed. Water weight isn’t just drinking water, it’s adding quick temporary weight over a short time frame that’s fairly easy to shed. I think it was a good way to calm down the media about his overall size. I don’t think his playing weight is the same as Russ Wilson’s who has an inch on him as well. We obviously didn’t think it was an issue, but the whole thing was weird and would like 5 seconds to prove wrong. I don’t care either way but the subject at hand was literally the combine and I’m stating the weight was more of a concern than not throwing from my perspective.
  3. Herbert wouldn’t be able to stay healthy behind this excuse of an OL we have had over the past several years. The situation QBs are in is probably more important than the QB himself. Just look at Baker in Tampa vs Baker here just last year. I will say that Stroud appears to be thriving despite his environment which is very rare.
  4. Not throwing isn’t anything that crazy. Many busts and good QBs didn’t. Burrow, Stafford, Matt Ryan, Teddy, Manziel, Derek Carr, Bradford, RG3, Tannehill, The Golden Calf of Bristol, Bradford, Quinn, Jamarcus, Gabbert, Kyler Murray etc (I’m pulling this from Reddit so it could be off). Scouts get a better look up close at the Pro Days. My biggest concern was Young only weighing in and then not weighing in on his Pro Day when he was throwing. It gave some validity to his putting on some water weight just for the combine. Simply stepping on a scale during his Pro Day could have easily settled those concerns. Plus Stroud, AR, and Levis have cannons. Throwing behind them would do nothing but hurt his stock.
  5. Houston at home after the bye with Woods, Corbett (most important), and possibly Horn healthy.
  6. I think Reich needs to let Brown and McCown do their thing. I also think he is slowly getting better in spite of his current situation week by week.
  7. He might have some influence there. He was high on Young and Mingo.
  8. Maybe a DC, but his ego would never allow him to do that. He will probably be like a defensive consultant or something.
  9. I love the whole “how many times does Bryce have to hit players in the face before you appreciate his accuracy” comment. We need some stickum for their face masks.
  10. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/04/25/2023-nfl-draft-panthers-texans-raiders-favorite-bryce-young/
  11. Man I love the energy Stroud is playing with. Seeing him hop up and down over the OL as that pass is being caught made me laugh. We need to get our players out there having fun. I know they are all frustrated from losing but they need some positive energy.
  12. Pete Carroll and Kyle Shanahan make most QBs in their system look pretty good.
  13. I think Reich liked Stroud, AR, and Young based on hearing him talk about several QBs that could be the top pick. Fitt seemed to describe Young when he was talking about his ideal QB (yeah I know it was lying season). I could see Reich preferring Stroud, but putting up little resistance when Fitt prefers Young. Fitt has been a fan of trying to draft and develop our QB since he has been here. He probably had an idea of which one he wanted for a while, plus the whole Russ size thing in Seattle. Reich also wanted Carr so he probably wasn't too adamant about any particular player in the draft IMO. https://theathletic.com/4430449/2023/04/20/panthers-nfl-draft-bryce-young-s2-test/ Fitt on the S2 “Obviously, we use it so we believe in it. But it’s a tool. There’s a lot of different tools that we look at, analytics (and) everything else,” general manager Scott Fitterer said. “It all comes back to the tape. It’s the most important thing that we do when we watch and we evaluate. S2 is just another tool that we use. It is something that we believe in, though.” Young also had some of the best tape. His size translating to the NFL was his biggest concern. The article also mentions Tepper probably loves the S2 since he is a big analytics guy.
  14. I mean Reich is calling the plays and it looks very similar to the plays he was running in Indianapolis that their fans grew tired of. He might be more stubborn that we realize. With Brown and Evero (two HC candidates) on his staff he better figure it out quick or I could see one of them taking over.
  15. Which is the opposite of what a good coach/staff would do. You evolve your schemes based on the players you have and cater it around their best attributes.
  16. What if Fitt convinced him to take Young?
  17. Oh yeah for sure. Especially trading up to acquire him. Stroud made the most sense with the risk that was involved with the trade up. At worst you have a Goff type QB who is pretty solid.
