  1. Thielen is not the problem but the point is he’s our best receiver and would be #3 at best on good teams.
  2. Agreed. But this made me think of Bears drafting Caleb when they had Justin Fields or Jets drafting Wilson when they had Darnold. In both cases these teams gave up too early.
  3. Ah yes back to the keep swinging until you get an elite QB is the strategy of decades long loser franchises like Jets and Browns who have proven that even when you do have a good or great QB you likely won’t even know it because you lack the program culture and strategy to be successful . Chasing QBs never works. How many QBs have the Jets and Browns drafted and failed miserably? Bengals didn’t know Burrow would be this good (many were skeptical of his one great year at LSU, or Ravens with Lamar, Chargers with Herbert, and especially Bills with Allen. A bad franchise would have cut ties with Allen after his first 16-25 games when he looked terrible. You could call it luck and that’s not a strategy. Tepper thought he could play god and create his own luck by outsmarting everyone else and it’s failed miserably. He seems to have finally humbled himself and hopefully understand that it’s most important to build the right culture and build a roster with an actual program philosophy of what you want the team to be. you focus on evaluating talent, drafting well including QBs, and ensure it’s a developmental environment where good becomes great, and great can become elite. It is not time to cut ties with Bryce, you have to at least give it another year, maybe draft another prospect in later rounds if they’re BPA and continue to build. As others have said it’s been 10 years since we knew what a hump even looks like and we’re not even close to it.
  4. I would do that in a heartbeat but I think Jets won’t let him go cheaply
  5. Don’t forget we’ll get better with healthy Derrick Brown and hopefully Shaq Thompson. Draft two more starters in first and second rounds, later rounds for rotation . It won’t be elite but will be in much better shape and give us a chance to win some close games .
  6. The way I look at is we can focus on defense in the draft and sign your top receiver. We can’t afford to go into next year with big question marks with XL and Coker who still need time to develop
  7. Give him $30MM a year and watch him ball out with Bryce
  8. Clutch, makes catches in crucial moments. He has everything to be an elite #1 receiver if he can stay healthy. I hope Panthers make a play for him
  9. Haha the Mapquest thing made me feel ancient. He didn’t even know what you do if you miss a turn
  10. Other than Bryce, who on this team do you want to show you something in the last two weeks to justify their position on the team in 2025. My pick is Xavier Legette, he needs to regain his mojo and show he can be a #1 WR he was drafted to be or else we may have to draft or sign another one.
  11. I agree, let’s hope the receivers can catch the ball.
  12. Heavy dose of pass this weekend
  13. I’m ok with it just be competitive
  14. It feels more like making sure he doesn’t get hurt that could impact his availability for 2025, with Brooks already not likely to play
  15. Was he on the injury report? This seems out of nowhere
  16. Same their fans were talking so much trash to is, it feels like they had it coming.
  17. Yep he’s playing with 4th string and practice squad players and we expect him to stop the run lol
  18. Jaycee Horn listed as doubtful. Mike Evans about to have 200 yds receiving
  19. I would take it if.. 1. They expand the active roster to 60+ players 2. It meant season starts in late August same weekend as College.
  20. I never post things without context and have been clear they're not at the same place and Bryce has ways to go. Go back and read my posts in this thread and stop with the false narrative.
  21. Caleb has put up pretty good numbers for a rookie, ones we would have gladly taken for Bryce last year. But it has been wildly inconsistent, mostly against teams with poor defenses (e.g. Panthers), or playing from behind and putting up garbage time stats (e.g. Lions). He also had legitimately 3 good wide receivers and running back weapons. His offensive line is not as bad as it seems, Caleb holds on to the ball for 3-5 business days. Most analysts predicted Bears to go deep in playoffs based on their talented roster on both offense and defense, so from that standpoint, there's a sense that the QB play is one of the main reasons they've struggled.
  22. I dont' think he's been damaged like that but one thing is clear, don't ever underestimate what constant pressure can do to a young QB. It's enough if you hesitate for a split second or take your eyes off the field and focus on the pressure to make you miss reads and throws. The NFL is unforgiveable in that regard
  23. I had flashbacks of last year watching that horrible offense. They have all these weapons and nothing to show for it unless they’re getting blown out and teams start playing soft prevent defense. Caleb is not the generational talent he was hyped to be (most of us knew that) but I also think Thomas Brown offense is trash
  24. Thomas Brown and Caleb Williams just put up this passing chart Caleb Williams did not complete a single pass beyond 6 yards downfield until the final drive of regulation in the Bears’ TNF loss to the Seahawks. Under 10 AY: 15/17, 107 yards (+4.5% CPOE) Over 10 AY: 1/9, 15 yards, INT (-27.2% CPOE)
