I think it is more than what he showed last year. We have built intelligently around him and given him every chance to succeed. The o-line is no longer a complaint here. Actually in the strength column. Chuba is a competent running back. If you look at Dowdle's average per carry last year, they are on paper a dangerous duo. We also added a promising rookie from a football family to the mix. Legette had a rough first year, but a lot was asked of him. We added arguably the best receiver in the draft to the room. Renfrow is here and looks to be back to his old self after the health concerns. Thielen said for the first time, he honestly doesn't know who is going to make the roster. Coker out played XL last year. Where is the glaring weakness now on offense?

What does this mean for Julian Blackmon? That seemed like the better option. -
BREAKING: Panthers interested in Justin Simmons
BlazeCarolina replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Most of his career has been spent with Denver. Last year with the Falcons. Played 16 games. 58 tackles, 32 solo, 26 assist, 9 passes defended, 2 interceptions. 6'2", but is 31 years old. Did not show up in PFF top 32 safeties. I just gave myself a crash course, so I thought I would share. -
BREAKING: Panthers interested in Justin Simmons

On Panther's Wire too. No idea, just found it and trying to share. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/06/15/nfl-free-agency-rumors-panthers-eagles-justin-simmons/84219881007/ -
That's always going to be the case on a team coming from the bottom, though. We are acting like we have arrived because we have something to look forward to again. It was hard to be optimistic during the Rhule era. I don't disagree with you, but they way I see it is, we have nothing to lose by being happy/optimistic right now. It may be the only enjoyment we get if things DON'T work out. Let the dreamers dream imo.

I'd say they did a good job fixing the o-line. Our running back room on paper looks good to me. WR group is the most exciting we have had in a long while. Thielen said it was the first time since he has been here that he doesn't know who will make the roster and that the floor is raised. Our defense looks very different than last year with a clear focus on stopping the run which was a huge weakness. They can only do so much at once. I think we have plenty to be excited and hopeful about.

I feel like we had more issues back then, though. Whether you like the regime or the plan, they do seem to have a plan. Revamping the team group by group and building something. I am admittedly overly optimistic when it comes to the Panthers.

Times have been dark buddy. We haven't had a winning season in 8 years. 2 out of 8 sounds like an improvement. Nostalgia may be clouding my perception a bit, but let's not act like we have our poo together lol

That is a different discussion, though. I don't disagree, but I think they are trying to get back to our former identity and become a tough, hard nosed, run first team. If that is the case, the pick makes a lot more sense. We were deadly with a one-two punch as much as I dislike D-Will.

I feel like this is a crazy take. Obviously the plan wasn't for Brooks to get injured again. You really believe Dan doesn't care about 2nd round picks? He was taking a risk, hoping it would pay off big. Brooks was the first running back off the board. They obviously saw a ton of potential there. Life happens sometimes. You can't view things in hindsight and act like you knew them ahead of time.

Alright. Well...Fitz giving it all she's got Captain. I see no flaws thus far.

I desperately WANT to believe in Bryce. As a true long time Panthers fan, I have been hurt many times and in many ways.

Optimistic Analysis of "Sneaky" Panther Roster Development
BlazeCarolina replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bitches love Tupperware. I distribute the Brilliance set at Christmas like a true pimp. -
I agree we will not know until the pressure is on, but what do you want the guy to do? He has impressive film, and is nailing it at camp. He is doing all he can right now, and I have not heard anything negative about him or his attitude. For sake of discussion and so it doesn't look like I am baselessly bashing Eddy... He had two attempts at greater than 50 yards. He made 1 (53). This to me, shows a lack of confidence in his leg. Most of the actual top kickers in the league have around 15 attempts. Dallas's kicker went 14/17 with a long of 65.
-
Because he has an attitude and weak leg. Let's not pretend everything was great just because the stat sheet looks good. We had to go for it a lot of times when we shouldn't have because we knew "accurate Eddy" didn't stand a chance at hitting.

Came here to post this. Not sure why OP is hating on Fitzmagic.

Bryce is getting a lot of good publicity and endorsements this off-season. I can't get enough. I am addicted to the hopium. Thielen said that Bryce was a big reason he returned.
-
He ranked #13 in missed tackles in 2024 according to Statmuse. 12.7% miss rate via PFF.
-
He ranked 110th out of 189 linebackers according to PFF last year. His run grade doing most of the work. He has a lot of tackles, but that can be due to skill and getting after the ball or opportunity. There are Lukes out there, but also Lavonte Davids. Big difference there. Just reporting what I read. Haven't watched his tape.
-
I have heard he did not do so well last season and the Bengals fans were happy to be rid of him for what it's worth. Said he looked slow.

It's not like we get a poll on who should be a star. She rose to the top for various reasons. I don't think XL is Denzel, but he apparently moves the needle for enough ladies to get this kind of attention. Appeal is a package deal, and she racks up enough points or we wouldn't be talking about her. It's not like being attractive is a mandatory trait for being a musician/rapper.
-
Oh, absolutely. I am ready to be hurt again, though. Way better than what we have had previously. I am thankful we all seem to like most Dan's decisions thus far. I was worried with him coming in and being part of the previous regime. I was optimistic, but I was also cracking pizza joint jokes. We have to win one eventually, right? Hopefully before I die. I have a bottle of that Carolina Panthers wine waiting lol

I feel we are already moving in a better direction before we even take a snap this season. We have hope now. People are talking about us brewing something special. Remember how dismal things were when Rhule was here?
