  1. It takes time to sort and swallow a handful of pills. I've always liked the story that came out about Al Davis' interview of Kiffin. He suggested they keep talking over dinner and sent someone out to get a big bag of regular McDonalds cheeseburgers for the two of them.
  2. No, it's Elon Musk half-assery. If you attempt to post a tweet by hitting the share button on the actual tweet, which is the underscore icon with the upward arrow, on the right side, it will copy/paste a x.com based-url. Nearly all message boards do not recognize this, so the tweet does not embed, but instead will display the url in it's text long form only. If however, you copy and paste the actual twitter.com url from the top of your browser, the tweet will embed since twitter is still recognized.
  3. With tweets, the url needs to be twitter.com, not x.com.
  4. I think if you zoom out a bit you might see a bit more of what I am getting at. They've always put a premium on skill players, but then don't really have anything behind them or around them. Then for a few years towards the end of the Ryan era they really concentrated on oline, with some mixed results. They like splashy a whole bunch, and always have, but other than Michael Turner and a retiring Tony Gonzalez, I can't think of many deals they've made that worked out favorably, and unironically, those 2 were both on offense.
  5. I have not understood their method of roster building for most of Blank's tenure. It's a oddly constructed team most years. Heinicke is a better option at qb, but he is still backup level. Maybe they spend their next high pick on another rb.
  6. Are you trying to say Ian Thomas can't be that weapon?
  7. It is a bit of a tantalizing tease. Seems like the system is very qb friendly, and maybe that creates a little bit of good enough complacency.
  8. He had a good story. Disney might be writing a Disney+ exclusive dramatization movie about it right now.
  9. Danny DeVito would give them a better chance.
  10. 6 sacks. Leading a game-winning drive with this team would be a top pick type of achievement.
  11. Legendary Hurst, with 1 legendary target, has a legendary drop. His hand must hurt from signing legendary autographs.
  12. I have no buyers remorse over Levis. I'm pleased the Falcons are getting embarrassed, so there is that.
  13. Ridder has been benched to start the second half. Falcons down 14-3.
  14. I recall hearing something about how we wouldn't need top end receivers We were going to have this dynamic, innovative, maestro magician playing qb like a hall of fame all-time NBA star point guard. We could maybe even invest a little less cash in wrs, since our super computer qb would be distributing that ball around so skillfully and quickly that defenses wouldn't know where it was coming from, and where it was going.
  15. I am shocked beyond belief at how this offense has struggled, especially given that we have Panthers legend Hayden Hurst. It must be all the other non-legend players that are dragging it down.
  16. Firing him mid-season will just be throwing a bone. Let it go. This year is done.
  17. This franchise is so far removed from Sam Mills now, and in so many ways. they might as well just honor Sam Walton instead.
  18. The Peppers video should make every fan realize the sad state this franchise has become.
  19. I am entirely neutral. I watched him from time to time at UNC, and I know Duke Howell, his father, from way back in high school. Almost 100 sacks in a season is mind-boggling though. Everyone points to Carr being ruined by similar experience with the Texans, and while it was probably more than just those sacks, I have no doubt that it contributed. This would greatly surpass Carr's numbers.
  20. From the article.. Over a 17-game season, Howell’s current total would project to 97 sacks. The NFL record for most times sacked in a season is 76, set by David Carr with the expansion Texans in 2002. Big numbers. I haven't watched any of their games however. Is he holding on to the ball? Frozen with indecision? Oline worse than ours? Ron shenanigans? It's interesting in the context of I think Rivera is gone after this year, and a new coach will want their own guy under center. There's a good amount of Panthers fans that would like to bring Howell home, as they feel it was a mistake to not draft him anyway. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/sam-howell-has-40-sacks-through-seven-games-on-pace-to-shatter-nfl-record
