  1. His size is possibly an issue, and it could be an issue for his entire career. His growing days are pretty much over. The internet gives a range of anywhere from 5'11/185 up to 6'/195. For comparative purposes, Murray is ranged at 5'10 and anywhere from 194 to 207. Mayfield is 6'1/209. Wilson is listed at 5'11/206. Brees was listed at 6'/209. Just for fun, Tarkenton was considered small at 6'/190. Flutie was 5'10/181. So there is evidence that teams can win and be successful with undersized qbs, to limited effect. Wilson and Brees have won a Superbowl. Tarkenton is in the HOF. Maybe Flutie got a ring in his final years with the Pats? It's just that it seems to be a risk, and maybe it's a risk that you don't take at the top of the draft. Murray and Mayfield are the only names on that list that were taken very high, and they have had mixed success to this point. I think it's a risk I am more comfortable to see some other team take if Young is in play that high in the draft.
  2. If I put anything on eggs other than salt/pepper/etc its salsa. Something with some heat, nothing mild that would pass for vegetable soup. If I'm feeling ambitious I would include some chorizo, mash up an avocado, grate some cheese, and wrap it all up in a tortilla.
  3. Just let the season play out. There's probably not a Hollywood sports movie comeback here. There are historically very few in-season player trades. Most likely we will be active on the trade market in the draft when we have presumably a new coach in place. This is a lost season, and there isn't much value other than seeing what players might have the fortitude to stick out the tough times.
  4. So there are other well-known instances of word getting out that a prospect will not play for team x if they are drafted. It has involved other positions than just QB, and to be fair, other sports as well. I think the talk is a little more prevalent among Panthers fans since that is a belief of what transpired with Andrew Luck and him staying in school.
  5. Young does not have the size that typically makes it in the NFL. Flutie is the only 1 I can think of that meets the height/weight comparison. He had a pretty nice career. So maybe that would be best case scenario for his outlook?
  6. I'd be very surprised if he is not just outright released, no matter whatever cap charge or depending on trade compensation.
  7. Best spot for him would be something that has low expectations and would allow him the space to construct his usual turnaround plan. Wisconsin and Nebraska would not be low expectations programs, but Arizona State would. Especially if/when USC and UCLA depart, he would have a chance to have the tiptop of whatever the PAC-12 cobbled together. There are probably others that will open as well. I don't care to ever hear him again. His talk is meaningless.
  8. I have zero doubt that Rhule would have an itchy hand watching this game and imagining the possibilities of what it might take to bring Wentz to Charlotte next season.
  9. Well. Hey we are already only 4 wins away from matching the 2 previous win totals.
  10. It might be safe to assume that the next cba bargain between players and owners would be 18 games and 2 preseason games in exchange for pot no longer being a no-no, especially if the winds of change prevail at the Federal level. Teams could play 2 neutral site games every season, no longer lose a home game, and it could be staged in other locales beyond London and Mexico City. It would logistically take a lot of work to pull off, but the headaches would probably be worth the boon of opening new markets like Asia to the game.
  11. .They could maybe make a go of it with a 6 team league or so. A smaller version of NFL Europe. It wouldn't be easy though, as evident from the continuous failures that alternative leagues here have experienced. Ideally they would be able to use homegrown talent, but there is not enough. So there is the problem, teams are made up of has beens and never weres, and once the initial novelty wears off it's just poor quality sport with teams that have funny uniforms and odd names.
  12. It is a long season. It's a marathon not a sprint. The troubling part is we are already sucking wind and have our hands on our knees. Except for Baker, but that's just because he is short and you can't really tell at a glance.
  13. Next week's game should be must not watch tv.
  14. I am a little surprised that Wilson has looked so awful early on. I expected better. Matty Nice has been declining for a while now. Maybe he will poop in his football pants again.
  15. 12 seems like a good number for us to hit before w start getting tired with all the excitement.
  16. It could've been much worse. Her costume could highlight tobacco, cigarettes and COPD.
  17. The Foster run. Can't help but get you a little fired up, and in the feels a bit when compared to the present state.
  18. Well. Oh hey..did you know that teams lose because they don't know why they lose? If only we, as a team, could figure out why we are losing. What exactly is holding us back, from being just good, to being great? It's a real mystery it seems.
  19. Sounds like Rich Kotite will no longer be the answer to the worst coach ever question.
  20. 2002 season. Combined 71-0 for the season. 30-0 at Atlanta, a month later 41-0 at home. Bad times.
  21. That sounds about right. We were swept that year 77-0. When people want to talk about hated rivals, any other team, they have forgotten that embarrassment. That said, my vote was for the Bucs, for similar reasons mentioned already. I think that's when the bottom falls out.
  22. It's good old fashioned hubris. Or arrogance, or a combination. I sort of think that at this point in his life he feels as though he's made billions on making clever and shrewd decisions, so he has a gut feel or an eye for making the right call. He missed this one though, badly, and maybe it's a shock to the system, or thinking he can't possibly be wrong in his judgement here nd it all just needs a little more time to come to together. Rhule isn't winning a Superbowl with this team, not this year, not next year, not ever. So what exactly is he here for then?
  23. The problem with keeping him here is if the record is bad enough, I mean we are talking a couple of wins bad, less than his usual output of 5 wins, how in the world does Tepper sell keeping him to the fanbase? At that point not only is Rhule still here, so far over his head that he is drowning, what does that say about the ability of the organization to attract players, coaches, as well as how much does Tepper even care? It would be a PR disaster.
  24. Rams are a good choice. They have enough on both sides of the ball to control the game the whole way. Maybe they play down to their competition though a bit? I just hope it's not Atlanta. Anyone but Atlanta. I mean they already owned us 1 season 77-0. No mas.
