  1. Isn't that THE answer to life, the universe and everything? So, what you're saying is, the answer really is...The Panthers.
  2. Or they don't like what they see. I'm not hearing glowing remarks about any of the ones drafted right now. "Needs work" "Will have to be coached up" "Will struggle early"
  3. The way things are falling, I'm looking OT and WR for the next two picks. Wouldn't mind Cosmi and Dyami Brown.
  4. Bengals must not have liked Jenkins all that much.
  5. Seems like many people believe the Panthers are just one or two picks away from the Superb Owl, so they are looking at positions of need instead of best player. I don't think the Superb Owl is in the mix next year, but could be in two or three years. Who are we going to draft TODAY who we expect to be part of the team that brings home the hardware? So yeah, taking a LT today is simply a placeholder until we find a long-term answer, but I'm looking for that cornerstone.
  6. I think OLine is where we go 2nd round, but don't sleep on the idea of Kellen Mond...
  7. I like the pick, but not the place in the draft where he was picked, so B+. I'm sure, had we traded down, Dallas would have taken him at 10, so they did what they had to do, but I would have loved to have seen a trade-down and more picks Day2/Day3.
  8. Jenkins, Cosmi or Eichenberg, please. But some nagging feeling tells me to watch for the possibility of Kellen Mond...
  9. The sucky part is, IF this happens with SF (and I don't see how, logistically/cap-wise), that'd put GB at the #3 spot in the draft. GB has already invested a 1st on Jordan Love, so I doubt they go QB at #3, which means position player. This *could* be bad news for the Panthers and their hope for Sewell/Slater/Horn Side note: Rumor has it, Rodgers is complaining about the lack of WR help. It'd be funny if the Packers used the #3 pick on Chase...considering Rodgers is then gone.
  10. Thinking of the Patriots and trading up? They've done it TWICE in the first round since 2003, with the most recent trade happening in 2012. Neither time did they trade into the top-10. Don't see it happening tonight, either.
  11. I can think of a QB that came out years ago who wasn't fast and didn't have the strongest arm, but his footwork was really good, he was incredibly smart and could throw the ball with pinpoint accuracy. Is that how you see Jones?
  12. Fine (and I agree it's poo), but exactly what other picks would the 49ers offer? They traded their next three 1st round picks to get where they are now. Feels like someone's been watching too much Draft Day.
  13. This is crazy. The 49ers blew all that draft capital and now look like they are panicking.
  14. I'll put the over/under at 2.5. CB/OT seem like they are going to be strong possibilities in the first two rounds. After that, the draft could feature players that will have an impact, but may not be considered "starters". WR and Safety are possibilities here. Don't discount the idea of seeing Kellen Mond drafted at the top of the 3rd round (if he's there), as well.
  15. At the time, I was not in favor or signing either one, thinking they were overpriced (apologies to James). I figured the Panthers had a plan to replace one or both. Little did I know they did not. I'm okay letting the high-priced players go, when there's a plan for filling the spot.
  16. Having grown up as a Bengals fan (secondary to the Panthers), I would like to remind you... ...they ARE the Bengals and the GM hasn't changed.
  17. If I'm Joe Brady, I have a shopping list: 1. OT in the 1st round, preferably Sewell, but Slater will suffice. 2. WR no later than the 3rd round. The WR needs to be able to replace Samuel's production and, hopefully, running ability. 3. RB in the 4th. The RB allows more flexibility with CMC and allows many more options. Also provides insurance for an injured CMC, if it happens.
  18. Depends on the team and how far back in the first round the Panthers would fall. If you're talking somewhere in the 12-15 range, that's a huge win. Outside of that, you are risking having two first round picks next year that are outside the top 15.
