  1. Wanted to draft him on day 3 in April, but instead we took a DT and TE.
  2. I mean, he just learned under Reid and Mahomes. He's actually started games in the League too. I think he kind of got a raw deal in New England and I'm certain he's only grown from that.
  3. Hendon Hooker and Bailey Zappe were both cut. I haven't seen McCord's name yet. If looking for a younger veteran, DTR also got let go.
  4. Whew, hard decisions made today. Morgan and Canales must be exhausted.
  5. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-roster-cuts-tracking-player-releases-ahead-of-the-2025-roster-deadline Just open this link and periodically refresh it. You're welcome.
  6. That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make. They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects. It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
  7. Long term, why not? For a short term bandage, of course not. We all know Dalton is collecting retirement money from the Panthers. If he has to be put in a game, I'm sure he'll play hard for us, but he's not going to be staple of this team for the foreseeable future.
  8. And yet the Eagles go out and actually try to improve it. Winner's mentality compared to a losers mentality. Winners, while already good, try to get even better even at mundane things like backup QB. Losers have the mentality of 'this is the all we got, so just make the best of it." I could care less about Dalton one way or the other, my ire is squarely pointed at our inept front office.
  9. If we had a really good backup, Bryce would be looking over his shoulder. Facts. Dalton knows his role as a backup/mentor and isn't gunning for QB1. A ambitious, young, talented backup would create a QB competition and that's something this team doesn't want for some crazy reason.
  10. If we did sign him, definitely TE3 starting out. He missed almost his entire senior season due to injury. I think it was an ACL and that impacted his camp last year with the Jets. Assuming no set backs with injury, he should be fully recovered. Now he just needs opportunity. The Jets are deep at TE, so getting waived is not a huge knock for me.
  11. If he comes here he'll have to change his name to Forrest Inferno.
  12. I saw the Jets cut TE Zach Kuntz. I wanted to draft this guy. A developmental player, but he could be a gem.
  13. Any today will be injury related or released with some designation other than released/waived, I suspect. I agree, < 90% will be tomorrow, and most--if not all--in the afternoon.
  14. If Thielen is traded, I'm knocking my vote back to a 4. He's going to be difference maker in 2-3 games this season. Without him, a couple of close games are going to the other team.
  15. We are one of like 6 teams with no released players yet (at least to the public). It seems like the past year or so instead of doing phased cuts, which we have traditionally done, the names are held back until the list is almost/completely finalized.
  16. Are we doing the entire cut list at once thingy again so nobody's feelings are hurt to be the first name released?
  17. We are so jaded at this point that a Panthers player that DOESN'T suck must be a top 100 player, right? Most of our starters are backup on other NFL teams. Nobody got snubbed on that list, our team is just that bad.
  18. SC actually did give a fug at one point, but as a subset of the fan base, have been getting sent to the kids table for years. Once Wofford got the axe, it all but sealed the deal. Only a few die hard fans still dot the state, but we are a dying breed and going extinct rapidly. I used to tailgate with groups of folks that drove up from SC EVERY home game. Back in the day, the amount of Panthers flags on cars going up I-85 was abundant. You got to think of the time, money and commitment compared to Metro Charlotte folks. Extra gas money, extra food, leaving the house extra early for the extra long drive. Just to get sh1t on? Any wonder why SC folks are ditching this organization with the lack of care shown to this state along with an abysmal product on the field?
  19. Bingo! We are on the same page. Our scouting department was average under Hurney, but at least we hit hit it out of the park with our first rounders. Our scouting department under Tepper's reign with his revolving doors of HCs and GMs has sucked because the scouts largely stay in place. One or two may change every few years, but the core philosophy stays in place and I believe that to be heavily RAS influenced. Looking the part of a football player (physical/athletic measurables) vastly outweighs putting on the tape and deep diving into his stats with our scouting department. Until we change that mindset, this team is doomed. Again, how many of us Huddlers (none of us are professional scouts) wanted McConkey over Legette? Yet, we went with XL. Why? RAS score, pure and simple. If you put on the tape and look at the numbers without taking RAS into account, McConkey was the clear choice.
  20. Before I opened the thread I wondered to myself if we had even one. Nope. Had Brown not missed all last season, he probably would have made it.
  21. Howell is not a starter, but a decent backup. He's kind of in the same mold of Hurts athletically, so if he does miss time, they don't have to tweak the offense to a backup that's polar opposite skill set of their stater. It makes sense to me.
  22. The Panthers make bad teams look good. It's a magical power we have.
  23. Another day, another dumb move by the Panthers. I'm numb to this idiocy and have been for a while. This organization under Tepper has ran off or drained the emotional investment of most of it's core fans. I'm around still, but refuse to put more than a minimum amount of time and energy into this team anymore.
  24. I voted a 5. We will be better than last year, but being better than horrible is not exactly awe inspiring.
