  1. I didn't say don't improve the roster, just don't go full '21 Rams. The reason? Mortgaging the future to prop up a QB that likely still doesn't have what it takes to go on a SB run is dumb. Bryce and #1 overall draft pick is a punchline now, btw. If he was able to live up the the billing of #1 overall draft pick, this would be a different conversation, but it's not. He's got one more year to change his trajectory to franchise QB from the track of backup he's on currently.
  2. ^This. And with a better roster and a 2nd year coaching staff he can't take a huge leap forward, we all will have our answer about Bryce. No more glimpses of improvement or small moral victories. He's either going to be our Jackson, Mahomes or Allen or we need to start the search elsewhere in '26. The Giants thought it was going to finally click with Jones too, but it didn't and most outsiders saw it too. We had better not end up like the Giants.
  3. Come on, prop the kid up to where mediocre status justifies taking him #1 overall after trading away the entire farm. Just don't call him a bust, please. Saying JAG is so much better. That's the level of play we want for our franchise QB, apparently.
  4. First round QBs RARELY go into their 4th year without the 5th year option picked up. That is unless the team is having doubts. If Bryce looks bad to meh next year, we do not go into 2026 with him in the long term plans, period. Forget this year, it's too much of a mixed bag. He's got one more year to prove himself. All that said, I get the rookie QB contract concept, but that's only if he's THE guy. I'm still not sold on Young. Next year focus on the defense and few more pieces on the offense. If Bryce doesn't flourish, I mean completely ball out, cut bait in '26.
  5. Exactly, the defense play has to coincide with Bryce having a career day. Winning formula going forward, right? Big picture, just improving the defense ain't fixing sh*t unless the offense gets fixed too. Not unless we get like an '85 Bears defense where the offense can be an afterthought.
  6. Bryce can't put up the points to cover the 30+ point output that teams were laying on us earlier in the year. So the defense did improve, scoring wise, to aid in a 20 and 23 point output to beat the Giants and Saints respectively.
  7. Until today they had been improving over the first half of the season. I'm not arguing the defense isn't bad, what I am saying is the games that we have been in lately the defense has kept the point total manageable to where the offense didn't have to be spectacular to keep us in games.
  8. Actually, only two Philly and KC. On the flip side, why can't he beat the bad ones more regularly. I'm shocked the Giants aren't winless and the Saints have fallen into the abyss. Wins, yes, but hardly anything to boast about.
  9. Hmmm, the games the defense played the best are the games Bryce won. Point being, our defense isn't great, but our QB can't compensate for it. Manufacturing more than 3 TDs is too big of an ask apparently.
  10. In prior games, with exception to KC, our opponents have been held to 23 points or fewer since the Bryce "resurgence". If that threshold is too much of an ask for our offense, then maybe it's not the defense that's the real problem.
  11. The same defense that kept us competitive the past several weeks and now we are crapping all over it. How about an offense that put up only 14 points of which 7 of them came on busted play that allowed Coker to run straight down field uncovered?
  12. Bryce needs a perfect setup to play above average and it happened for a few games. Any cracks in the overall team dynamic like today, he struggles. I think it's asinine to pour money and resources over all aspects of the team to prop up the QBs level to merely above average. I'm thinking long term and if this Bryce looks like this again next year, it will be time to move on.
  13. His arm is average at best. Good enough to look really good in college, but the NFL is different.
  14. The top 2 guys will be gone and then it drops WAAAAAAY off. Don't get your hopes up, it ain't happening.
  15. Don't forget ball security issues and fragile ego too. Again, I think it's a bad mistake to plan on Young beyond 2025.
  16. I'm okay with him in starting in 2025 because I don't want a RD1 QB this draft.
  17. They are going to have off days, but that's why you need a QB that can put a team on his back.
  18. Crazy that when Bryce is clean he can play okay, but any cracks in the OL and he looks like old Bryce.
  19. Don't raise your expectations. I didn't and I am not the least bit pissed off nor disappointed right now.
  20. Guys, we are a butt fumble from being COMPLETELY blown out by a depleted Dallas Cowboys team lead by Cooper Rush.
