Moton to start at LT, Christensen at RT
45catfan replied to Cary Kollins's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sam may finally have reliable protection today! -
I told you guys LB depth would be a problem. You can't have only 3 starters and 1 legit backup (even if he can play all 3 positions) and say you are fine at LB. I knew all it would take is one injury and things could get ugly. We are one more injury away from practice squad guys being starters. I don't care what scheme we run (but we are in nickle mostly!!!!), 4 legit LBs is not enough, period.

The team even has hinted at this. Regarding Horn, they expect him back by the playoffs. I don't think it's lip service or blissful optimism, they honestly believe they will be in the playoffs and Fitts is trying his best to get the pieces in place to make it happen. Yes, it's about building for the future, but the future is now and not treading water until 2022. This is not 2020 team that was just trying to be competitive. They knew they were in rebuild mode. I guarantee you if you asked any player or coach if this team is still in rebuild mode they would look at you like you are crazy.

Yup, I mentioned this yesterday with the crop of QBs going into the 2022 class. I thought it was marginal to begin with, but the "top" guys are looking like they are regressing or at least not living up to their hype. If the team didn't tank for Trevor, they sure as heck are not going to go after one of these dudes. It's a moot point anyway as Fitts has pushed all his chips to center table for this season with these trades. It's playoffs or bust.

True, but in the old days they didn't have Pilsbury canned biscuits to take shortcuts on their dumplings. My mother made those things from scratch and they were absolutely delicious. One recipe (among several) I wish I got before she passed.

Honest answer, canned biscuits or homemade dumplings? Be honest....

I'm right there with ya.

Nah, that's an homage to Hoooooover.

If it's spicy chili, it'd definitely be a fiery poo.

Oh yeah, good thing good thing we traded for Darnold instead to tanking for Howell or Rattler. Rhule must have his personal version of Miss Cleo.

This 2022 QB class is a complete joke! This after some individuals questioned the skill and depth of the 2021 QB class.

Waffle House! I ain't cooking tomorrow.

Clemson orange? If so, you must live in the upstate of SC where I reside too. While the Gamecocks program is an utter joke, I have to come to appreciate their fan base's resilience by continuing trot out the Gamecock swag to show their team 'pride', mainly because breaks up the sea of orange that I am bombarded with on a daily basis.

We had better win this week. I can't stand the thought losing back-to-back games against teams/fan bases I loath immensely. Philly doesn't crack the top 3 despised teams, but definitely top 5.

It's still too early for me. I've got a few prospects, but none are head and shoulders above the one another this far out.

I don't have PFF to see how he's grading out and his stats for this season thus far. As a team, State is giving up just under 2 sacks a games, but I can't find a source (for free) where I can get the breakdown of that info by player. My most liked scouting/daft site has him as the #2 LG prospect and ranked in the mid-twenties range right now. Hopefully, about where we should realistically be picking in the draft. Maybe Christensen will be the real deal at LT and we can draft this dude to solidify Darnold's blindside for years to come.

And thus the invention of the 'man cave'.
-
Local guy too. Check out his blocking stats...pretty impressive. Pancakes anyone?
-
Yup, he's a stud. He's only been playing LT for two seasons. Traditionally he's been a G. He's given up a few sacks, but he talent is undeniable. I think he'll slip as a tackle unless someone drafts him as a G. I hope so, because his arrow is only pointing up and with more coaching and more reps at LT, I think he's going to be a franchise LT.

Late day 3 picks are purely flyer-type guys, but he has potential. He is still a project, but won't improve our situation right now.
-
Paradis isn't moving out of the lineup this year unless injured. The best thing we can do is shore up the guys next to him.
-
Unless Brown has gotten much better in pass protection, he should NOT be in the line up. He got eaten alive at the Senior Bowl in pass drills. He's a road grader at this point. That doesn't mean he hasn't or couldn't get better, but that's the reason he fell so far in the draft after being projected as one of the top guards. Some say we got him as a steal on day 3, but was he really a steal or did he get exposed? I say the later. It's rare guys fall that far after being hyped unless a serious flaw in their game gets exposed or medical/personal red flags. He wasn't injured or had any off-the-field issues, so there's only one reason left.

Going left to right: Moton, Irvin, Paradis, Scott, Christensen
-
We had drunk D in the second half... couldn't stand up to the task.
-
Maybe he should try playing minor league baseball for a White Sox affiliate?
