  1. I'm really serious about taking a stab at McCord on day 3.
  2. We need the Jags and Browns to win. They are teams NOT taking a QB (I still can't believe Cleveland restructures Watson). The Giants and possibly Titans are. That said, those two teams are the only ones standing between us and any non-QB player we want beside Travis Hunter. He will be a Patriot.
  3. Not if the Pats are #1. They have their QB. Better stated, Ward will be the first QB off the board.
  4. Yup. I asked in 2022 to have it updated to 2023 to a PM to Jeremy. He did it that same day.
  5. Somewhere in the middle. He's not got break away speed, granted, but he's not a catch and get tackled guy if the ball placement is such he doesn't have to break stride. One TD yesterday he was able to split two defenders and yes, get behind them. He stopped because he reached the end zone, but if there was room to run more he could have gotten more YAC. Most of his routes are crossers or out breaking to the boundary which limits his YAC. He's not asked to go vertical often and that's where the YAC is accumulated in spades.
  6. Sure any missed FG is a gut punch, but he had a walk off FG versus the Giants and was perfect in the Saints win. So as of now, we bring in camp competition and go from there. Last year he went through a few game slump, but got it together. I don't think he's broken, just hurt and needs physical and mental rest, which comes after next Sunday.
  7. Here's a head to head from yesterday. One is a future HOFer. Crazy that AT can't run after the catch, but has more yardage than Evans on fewer catches. How does that math work?
  8. I've never liked Tepper, not from day one. The animosity has only grown with each failed game and each failed season. Like the Jags, Jets and Browns bad owners, they are collecting checks while rubbing elbows with other elites...they will never sale despite the dumpster fires they oversee.
  9. Wow, if we ditched every player after a rough few games... Eddy hasn't been right for about a month and it is obvious. If he is indeed hurt, then I'll give him a pass. His misses hasn't cost us a game yet, ALMOST, but not yet. His miss yesterday wouldn't have mattered in the blow out loss.
  10. Tepper thought Darnold and Mayfield were turn key, so when the returns didn't immediately pay off, he got impatient to jettison them. New team, new system, new everything, even thought they were "veterans" they still needed more time to adapt.
  11. Not now, but about this time next year. Generally that deal gets done in the offseason heading into year 4. If a QB goes into the season in their 4th year with no 5th year option, you know where the team stands with that player.
  12. With some of the late games complete, the Jets SOS just went up and dropped them back a spot. Currently we sit #6.
  13. Actual growth or just not sucking? There is a distinction. Being better than awful I guess is growth. I consider growth actually beating good teams once in a while and taking care of business of bad teams routinely. Almost beating a good team and losing to bad teams save three (even then barely) still doesn't do it for me. At this growth rate we might have a winning season in 2027....maybe.
  14. Also meanwhile the Kenny Pickett lead Eagles just dropped 41 points on the Cowboys. The same Cowboys that throttled us. I don't want to hear crap about our 'close losses' to good teams anymore. People can't crow about how we ALMOST beat the Eagles and Chiefs then ignore the blowouts we suffer while teams that crush us get floor wiped by backup QBs, a bad one at that in the case of Pickett.
  15. Defenses should just sit back in coverage until Bryce can find an open target. right? I mean collapsing the pocket on a 5'9" QB that gets happy feet and panics under pressure isn't the best way to defend him. Ooops, oh boy...hopefully NFL DCs aren't going to read that.
  16. Evero is trying to get fired. Wonders why he even agreed to come back in the first place.
  17. Crazy thing is Mayfield was deadly accurate today, but both of those drives capped off by FGs he had guys open in the end zone and simply missed them. The score actually could have been worse.
  18. We went 3 and out three consecutive times because our defense sucks. Duh! Don't you know how football is played?
  19. That's why he's always open, he's a #3 quality WR?. Thielen's main limitation is if Bryce can hit him. Only 67 players have more receptions. He's not a #3. He's honestly a #2, although our #1, and the fact that Bryce relies on him so much shows how valuable he is. Thielen happens not to suck because he wasn't drafted and 'developed' here. If so, he probably would be a #3, if in the League at all. Thank you Vikings for showing us what a WR should look like.
  20. Irving was one of the pups, though. I think they had two young Divsion II WRs out there today. People here are quick to point out Coker went to Holly Cross and that our WR corps is so crappy having to ask a D-2 guy to step in the lineup. The Bucs have a couple of D-2 guys at WR and don't need to make any excuses for their passing game.
  21. You did keep hearing the commentators talk about Tampa's unlikely supporting offensive cast, right? Besides Evans, they had a bunch of pups and backups for pass catchers. It goes to show scouting and development is crucial for young players to flourish and the Panthers suck at both.
  22. Glimpses of a legit QB is all we ever have and will get. A couple of legit NFL drives a game mixed in with a bunch of duds.
  23. While true, it basically tanked the season. Thus, tanking. They weren't winning many more games with Jones, but put in an average backup for the rest of the year, and presto, almost rest assured of losing out. Granted, they might squeak out a win today, but still will be in the best spot to draft the first QB as the Pats don't need one.
