  1. In the early 90's, Charlotte by itself was much too small to be considered for a NFL franchise. Some people don't realize how much Charlotte has grown over the past 25 year. Today, yeah, Charlotte's metro area could support a NFL team based on population alone. The catch is, most of the transplants (and there's TON of them) still pull for other teams as I mentioned earlier.
  2. Agreed, there's a lot more to QB-ing than a pretty deep ball. Take note Howell fanboys...
  3. I had a feeling about Trevor and the very reason why I cringed when people were uttering crazy talk to move up to #1 to get him pre-draft. There's one thing about Clemson players, once they leave that tight-knit, well-oiled football factory, they flame out in the NFL when they have to prove themselves as an individual.
  4. I know we passed on Fields at #8, but remember the Bears gave up a next years FIRST and FOURTH to move up to get him. I know it's only one game, but if he is a bust, the Bears are stuck with him at least until 2023 before they can replace him via the draft. Ouch....
  5. The melt down over Fields when we drafted Horn was epic. Despite JC's injury, it was the right move by the Panthers.
  6. That's funny, most of "Charlotte" now pulls for teams north of Virginia. It wasn't that way in 1995. Look at the stands when the Steelers, Eagles, No-Names, Patriots and New York teams (all 3) come to town. Tell me I'm wrong. They travel from Charlotte's burbs to support their hometown teams, not flying in from up north. More, now than ever, it needs to be the Carolina Panthers.
  7. Great news, now the main concern is we don't bring him back too quickly where he tweaks it.
  8. His short yardage/red zone play calling needs some work. The Tremble call against the Texans and the QB keepers with Darnold shows that he's evolving. Between the 20's, he pretty darn good, but I still need to see the Texans short yardage play calling wasn't a fluke and he continues to be imaginative in that regard.
  9. Spread-option college RBs typically struggle badly in the NFL.
  10. Royce don't even know the playbook fully and is 2 for 15. Don't be an apologist.
  11. Hubbard: 6 carries; 10 yards. Dude is garbage....
  12. We can run the ball...when Hubbard isn't running it. Hey Rhule, keep your wife's draft opinion out of the draft room.
  13. More beer, yes please! I'll be right behind therealmjl. Dude, wait up!
  14. Is that half of Run DMC? Could be a good omen...
  15. Sorry, they need to start Christensen over Daley and get this young man used to NFL play. I don't like idea of moving him to the right side anyway. Maybe he'll have enough snaps under his belt to slide over to LT by next season and beat out Erving. Dude ain't getting any better on the sideline.
  16. Time to give the young guards some reps before we hit the meat of our schedule.
  17. It depends on how deep/top-heavy the class is for LT. A starting LT can be had mid-to-late round one in a very good class. Only elite centers are taken in round one and there are generally one or none of those each draft. A top 3 center can easily be taken in the second round.
  18. That's why I'm not souring on Gonzalez yet. He has the correct form and seems to kick consistently. That PAT miss was about leaving the ball a little inside kicking from the same side hash. I would have much more concern if he would have missed wide right.
  19. Yes, the block wasn't his fault, 100% on the blocking unit and his missed PAT was by a hair. Missed kicks will happen, you have to look at how they were missed. Slye was utterly shanking kicks. Gonzalez just slightly misjudged his angle.
